However, despite leading the industry, intense competition in the domestic market has made it exceedingly difficult for it to both grow its top line and improve upon its earnings numbers. Many cannabis companies have struggled and closed up shop. Tilray still being around is an accomplishment all on its own. Due to poor market conditions, it has had to look to other markets and opportunities in order to grow its business without crippling its margins in the process. Recently, the cannabis company posted quarterly results that featured record sales numbers. What may surprise you is how the business has grown over the past four years, and where its future growth might come from. Image source: Getty Images. Continue reading

kim willems/iStock Editorial via Getty Images Celanese Corporation ( CE ) outlined a series of operational changes aimed at maintaining supply continuity as geopolitical tensions in the Middle East reshape customer priorities. The company said security of supply has become a renewed focus for customers, prompting adjustments across its global production network. Celanese ( CE ) shares rose 3.5% on Monday morning following the announcement. The company said it restarted its vinyl acetate monomer unit in Frankfurt, Germany, on an accelerated schedule. It also began commissioning a new vinyl acetate ethylene emulsions reactor at the same site, which is expected to add capacity and lower costs. The company is working to complete maintenance on its polyoxymethylene unit in Frankfurt, with a restart targeted for April. U.S. supply redirected to support Europe To support the restart, Celanese ( CE ) said it is redirecting methanol produced at its Fairway Methanol joint venture in Clear Lake, Texas, toward its German operations. The material will be used to supply the polyoxymethylene unit once it resumes operations in the second quarter. The company said its integrated production chain allows it to shift inputs such as methanol and acetic acid into higher-value downstream products depending on demand. Executives highlight flexibility Mark Murray, senior vice president of the acetyls business, in a statement said the company’s existing operating model allows it to respond to disruptions in supply and demand. Todd Elliott, senior vice president of engineered materials, said the company is continuing to adjust its global network in response to changing market conditions. Soho theatre, London The unassuming US comedian and musician turns her journey to motherhood into a witty, bittersweet and beautifully judged show ‘I know this show can be uncomfortable,” says Riki Lindhome, sat at her keyboard after a song about pregnancy loss. But if Dead Inside is never cosy viewing, it’s funny, entertaining and emotionally involving to a high degree. Hardened viewers of trauma-comedy, a staple of fringe festivals in recent times, may feel jaded at the prospect of “a one-woman musical comedy about my fertility journey”. Their faith in the form will be wholly refreshed by this American’s beautifully judged hour, chronicling her by turns sad, amusing and gobsmacking efforts to become a mother. Something about the modesty of the undertaking is key: few autobiographical shows feel less “me, me, me”. Lindhome signs off most of her songs with a demure “that’s it”; the production values (right down to the disembodied hand sticking out of the wings to operate a bubble machine) are unassuming. Our host would, let’s face it, prefer not to be telling this story about frozen embryos, failed IVF, seven surgeries in one year, untimely relationship breakups and being classified as an “undesirable candidate” to adopt a child. Magyar, speaking to reporters in Budapest on Monday, said his government will set the euro entry time line after a review of the economy. His willingness to bring the country into the euro area is a stark change from the stance of defeated Prime Minister Viktor Orban . The last former communist country to have joined the eurozone is Bulgaria, which did so earlier this year.

AlexSecret/iStock via Getty Images Investors reacted positively to the after-the-market-close news of a ceasefire between the Iran war combatants on 7 April 2026. The S&P 500 ( SPX ) bounced up 2.5% on the news the following day before proceeding to increase its gains in the remainder of the trading week. By the time the market closed on Friday, 10 April 2026, the index stood at 6,816.89 , up a little under 3.6% from its previous week's level. The news of the ceasefire had an immediate effect on oil prices. Crude oil futures ( CL1:COM ) had peaked at $117.62 per barrel earlier on 7 April 2026 but plunged as low as $94.62 after the announcement. Crude oil futures went on to spend most of the rest of the week in the mid-to-upper $90 per barrel range. The drop in oil prices helped shape expectations for how the Federal Reserve will set interest rates in the U.S. While the CME Group's FedWatch Tool continues to foresee no interest rate changes through the end of 2026, it does see a growing chance for a quarter-point rate cut in 2027, with the most likely timing being near the end of 2027-Q2, three months earlier than projected in the preceding week. In this latest update of the alternative futures chart, the S&P 500 is about four percent below the central trend line of the redzone forecast range we added to the chart after Friday, 20 February 2026. We had added the redzone forecast range to the chart, fully shown in this version, to compensate for the year-old echoes of two major volatility events, which arise from the dividend futures-based model 's use of historical stock prices as the base reference points for its projections of the future. In this case, that was the echoes from February 2025's DeepSeek AI shock and President Trump's April 2025 "Liberation Day" tariff announcements. That redzone forecast range turned out to be ideally suited to use as a counterfactual to measure the impact of the Iran war geopolitical event on U.S. stock prices by indicating where th...

sasacvetkovic33/E+ via Getty Images A Tale Of Execution And Global Expansion I am upgrading Drilling Tools International ( DTI ) to a “Buy” from “Hold” in my last article , which was published in December 2025. Why? Because its Eastern Hemisphere expansion and its drilling tool portfolio (e.g., Drill-N-Ream, ClearPath) contributed to increased drilling efficiency. I also expect pricing strength in the international market and an improving mix to benefit its EBITDA margin in the medium term. Investors may note that DTI offers tools in onshore and offshore horizontal and directional drilling operations in the US and internationally. I believe that the North American energy market will remain subdued for now. That is why DTI’s portfolio, which focuses on efficiency improvement, is valued even higher. At this point, the company’s Middle East exposure during this period of geopolitical risks may sound counterintuitive. But I think the situation will improve soon. Its liquidity is adequate but not excessive, meaning it can absorb short-term disruptions. Given its reasonable valuation multiples, I recommend a “Buy,” an upgrade from my previous iteration. Diversification: Opportunities And Challenges DTI’s international exposure has increased over time. The Eastern Hemisphere contributed 14% of DTI’s Q4 revenue, which nearly doubled from a year earlier. It sees potential upside from rig reactivations in Saudi Arabia. This marks increasing tenders from the Middle East and other international markets. Increased diversification can position it well for a potential market recovery. However, the recent geopolitical unrest in the Middle East brings a degree of uncertainty over the strategy. It can slow tenders, rig reactivations, and project execution in Saudi Arabia. Also, the national oil companies, which primarily own energy businesses in this region, may delay capital allocation. The war can also disrupt logistics and the supply chain. Strategic Measures DTI plans to capture ...

Exports of mostly Kazakh oil from a port on Russia’s Black Sea coast are set to match a record next month, offering a degree of relief to European refiners who have been struggling to secure supplies following the effective closure of the Strait of Hormuz. Loadings of CPC Blend , including cargoes from Kazakh and Russian origin, are expected to rise next month to about 1.7 million barrels a day, according to traders with knowledge of the loading program, who asked not to be named as they are not authorized to speak to the public. This would match September’s record of 1.72 million barrels a day. Refiners have been in a desperate scramble globally for crude supplies after the war between Israel, the US and Iran choked off exports from the Persian Gulf. The price of a barrel of crude has skyrocketed, with CPC Blend trading on Friday at a record premium of $7.75 a barrel to regional benchmark Dated Brent. The grade sold at a discount of $3 to $4 before the war. The press office for the operator of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium declined to comment. CPC loadings plunged to below 1 million barrels a day in January and February. Drone attacks disrupted loadings from Russia’s Black Sea port, while in Kazakhstan itself the Chevron-led Tengiz field was halted temporarily by power-cable issues. Exports of the grade jumped by more than 60% last month to about 1.6 million barrels a day following the return of Tengiz. The loading program for April was planned at about 1.5 million a day but actual exports are expected to be higher as some cargoes were deferred to early April from late March. READ MORE: A Frantic Race for Barrels Is Gripping the Global Oil Market Oil produced in Kazakhstan makes up more than 90% of CPC cargoes, with Russia-origin crude only about 100,000 barrels a day in recent months.
