AEP ( AEP ) said it anticipates a decision from the IURC by year-end 2026; if the request is approved within the anticipated timeframe, the company expects to take ownership of the facility in March 2029 upon completion of construction and commissioning. The company said the acquisition is necessary to meet increased energy and capacity demand, and the filing contains additional information on future operating plans, fuel supply strategy, status of major equipment purchases and affordability considerations; through the CPCN process, the IURC will evaluate whether the acquisition is reasonable and in the public's interest. Bernstein Says Bitcoin Market Already Priced In Quantum Risk Authored by Zoltan Vardai via CoinTelegraph.com, Bernstein said Monday that Bitcoin’s selloff has already priced in much of the market’s fear around quantum computing, arguing that the threat is real but still manageable rather than an immediate existential risk. Bitcoin’s ( BTC ) near 50% drawdown from its $126,198 all-time high in October 2025 is proof that the market has “priced in” several risks tied to a quantum breakthrough , partly thanks to technological progress on zero-knowledge privacy and quantum-proof cryptography that “counterbalance” the AI and quantum acceleration, Bernstein said in a Monday note shared with Cointelegraph. The note lands two weeks after Google researchers said future quantum computers could break the elliptic-curve cryptography used across many blockchains with fewer than 500,000 physical qubits in some architectures, reviving debate over how quickly Bitcoin needs a post-quantum upgrade path. This research suggested a quantum computer could crack a Bitcoin private key in nine minutes, in a theoretical scenario, which is less than Bitcoin’s 10-minute block production time. However, Bernstein said Bitcoin core developers have “adequate time” to determine a post-quantum path. Last week, Bernstein predicted that Bitcoin has about three to five years to prepare for a post-quantum security upgrade, Cointelegraph reported on Wednesday. Source: Google Quantum AI Institutions will play constructive role in quantum-proofing Bitcoin Bernstein said large institutional holders, including exchange-traded fund (ETF) issuers and corporate treasury buyers such as Strategy, are likely to play a constructive role in any eventual consensus on a post-quantum upgrade . “We expect institutional partners with now billions at stake to play a constructive role in building con...

In an internal memo to Xbox employees, obtained by The Verge , Sharma admits that "Game Pass has become too expensive for players" and that Microsoft needs "a better value equation." "Game Pass is central to gaming value on Xbox. It's also clear that the current model isn't the final one," says Sharma. "Short term, Game Pass has become too expensive for players, so we need a better value equation. Long term, we will evolve Game Pass into a more flexible system which will take time to test and learn around." Microsoft hiked the price of Xbox … Read the full story at The Verge.

JHVEPhoto/iStock Editorial via Getty Images Honeywell ( HON ) said it will supply liquefied natural gas process technology and equipment for two additional production units at NextDecade’s Rio Grande LNG export facility in Brownsville, Texas, under an agreement with engineering contractor Bechtel Energy Inc. The expansion covers Train 4 and Train 5 of the project, where Honeywell ( HON ) will provide its coil wound heat exchangers and C3MR liquefaction process. The same technology is already slated for use in the facility’s first three trains. NextDecade said the additional trains are expected to increase total production capacity at the site from 18 million tonnes a year to 30 million tonnes, a rise of more than 66%. All five trains are projected to be operational by mid-2031. LNG projects are typically built in phases, with each “train” functioning as a separate processing unit that cools natural gas into a liquid form for export. The Rio Grande LNG facility is one of several large-scale export projects under development along the U.S. Gulf Coast. Honeywell’s ( HON ) role in the expansion includes supplying key equipment used in the liquefaction process, along with associated technologies aimed at improving plant efficiency and reliability. The company said its systems are designed to support continuous operation and reduce operating costs, though financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. The announcement comes as global LNG demand continues to grow, driven in part by efforts to diversify energy supplies and reduce reliance on pipeline gas in some regions. U.S. LNG export capacity has expanded rapidly in recent years, positioning the country as one of the world’s largest suppliers. Honeywell also said it offers modular LNG systems that can be assembled off-site and transported to export terminals, a method intended to shorten construction timelines compared with traditional on-site builds. The Rio Grande LNG project remains subject to financing, regulat...
