My aim today is to revisit CLX and discuss why I still do not believe that it is worth buying the company's stock, although I am a bit more positive than I was before. I will be discussing the firm's latest results , the changes in the macroeconomic landscape, and the valuation based on a dividend discount model. Sales and Outlook In the most recent quarter, the firm reported revenues, which were essentially flat compared to the prior year. These results are not great, but at least sales are not declining as they were in the previous quarter. Also important to mention that in three out of the four reported segments, the volume grew year-over-year, signaling that the demand for CLX's products is growing. The only segment that experienced a decline in volume was the lifestyle. Income statement (Clorox) Looking forward , the firm expects shipments and EPS to decline significantly, not because the demand is not there, but because two weeks of inventory were shipped ahead of consumption in Q4 fiscal 2025. This inventory drawdown is foreseen to negatively impact fiscal 2026 EPS by $0.9. Organic sales are now expected to decline by roughly 9% year-over-year (this is the lower end of the previously communicated range), which is partially to be offset by the GOJO acquisition . All in all, I believe that the fundamentals have slightly improved since I last wrote about the firm, but the sharp organic decline looking forward, even if it's largely driven by the inventory drawdown, still makes me skeptical about the near-term growth prospects.
