SpaceX, the rocket and satellite company led by Elon Musk, could soon give investors a chance to buy into one of the world's most valuable private companies. The company is targeting a June 2026 public listing that could raise $75 billion. At those share prices, SpaceX could be valued close to $2 trillion, potentially making it the largest IPO ever. The IPO is creating huge excitement. But at such a rich expected valuation, the real question is how much upside remains for investors who get in at the IPO. SpaceX already has a real business behind the hype SpaceX's satellite internet network, Starlink, which is designed to provide broadband service through thousands of satellites in low Earth orbit, has emerged as its key growth engine. The connectivity segment, driven primarily by Starlink, generated around $11.4 billion in revenue and $4.4 billion in operating income in 2025. The segment also generated $3.3 billion in revenue and $1.2 billion in operating income in the first quarter of 2026. Starlink had 10.3 million subscribers as of March 31, 2026, up from 5 million a year earlier. However, SpaceX's growth also depends heavily on Starship, the company's next-generation reusable rocket system. Starship is designed to carry much bigger loads into space than Falcon 9, SpaceX's current workhorse rocket. SpaceX expects Starship to launch its larger next-generation Starlink satellites, helping lower launch costs over time. The company expects Starship to support lunar and Mars missions, expand its deep-space ambitions, and potentially enable orbital data centers. SpaceX has already spent more than $15 billion developing Starship. Nvidia could benefit indirectly as satellites and orbital AI would need more computing power. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. might see higher demand for advanced chips. Networking and communications companies could also benefit if satellite broadband becomes a bigger part of global connectivity. SpaceX's IPO could create millionaires in...

Now that Warren Buffett's reign at Berkshire Hathaway (BRKA 0.41%)(BRKB 0.68%) has ended after more than six decades, attention has turned to its new CEO, Greg Abel, and how his strategies may differ from Buffett's. Since Buffett's departure, Berkshire has made notable moves, including exiting 16 positions in the first quarter, with giants such as Visa (V +0.74%), Mastercard (MA +0.17%), Amazon, and UnitedHealth Group among them. However, one thing that remained was its large stake in Bank of America (BAC 2.31%), a stock it first bought in 2011. As of March 31, Bank of America accounts for 8% of Berkshire Hathaway's stock portfolio (its fourth-largest holding). Considering how long Bank of America has been one of Berkshire's largest holdings and how it has stood firm amid one of the portfolio's largest rebalancing events, here are some takeaways for long-term investors. There's more value to be found in traditional banks right now Berkshire's decision to exit its Visa and Mastercard positions while keeping its Bank of America position is notable because it signals how the company views traditional money-center banks versus more premium fintech-leaning companies. At the time of this writing, Visa and Mastercard are trading at 25.1 and 25.4 times their projected earnings over the next 12 months, respectively. Bank of America is trading at 11.6. Admittedly, comparing the valuations of Bank of America to those of Visa and Mastercard isn't a perfect apples-to-apples comparison because the latter operate asset-light "toll booth" transaction models, but there is a noticeable gap in valuations between the two types of financial stocks. It's clear which way Berkshire is leaning based on its recent moves (and non-moves). Germany's Tamara Korpatsch said it would be "embarrassing" if she had cheated against China's Wang Xinyu following a heated exchange between the pair at the French Open. Korpatsch refused to shake hands with her opponent after prevailing 6-2 2-6 6-3 in a second-round match overshadowed by lingering tension. The initial flashpoint came when Wang made her way over to Korpatsch's side of the court to inspect a ball mark, after the chair umpire ruled her shot had landed beyond the baseline. Wang was booed by the crowd for her actions and received a code violation for unsportsmanlike conduct. The point in question was particularly crucial as it gave Korpatsch set point on Wang's serve at the end of the first set. The disagreement reignited when the players met at the net once the match had finished, with both walking away without the customary handshake.

Muslim-majority Bangladesh, a South Asian nation of 170 million people, celebrates Eid al-Adha, the “feast of the sacrifice”, on Thursday. The 700kg (1,500-pound) bull, a rare albino buffalo with a flowing helmet of light hair resembling the signature look of the US president, was due to be slaughtered to mark the day. Humza Hussein, VP & Director, Commodities at TD Asset Management, cautions that despite those signs, ongoing supply disruptions and tightening reserves could keep oil prices higher for longer. Transcript Anthony Okolie: Oil prices are rising as fresh clashes between the US and Iran have cast doubts on peace talks, despite both sides touting recent progress. Joining us now to discuss what it all means for the energy markets is Hamza Hussain, vice president and director for commodities with TD Asset Management. Hamza, thanks very much for joining us. Hamza Hussain: Happy to be here. Anthony Okolie: Alright. Let's start with an update on what's happening with the Strait of Hormuz. We've had some clashes overnight with the US-- between the US and Iran. What's the latest? And has there been any meaningful change? Hamza Hussain: So let's look back at the last month and then look at the last few days. What hasn't changed has been that constant barrage of deceptive messaging out of the US, especially out of-- from Trump, these ideas that Iran has agreed to everything, the Strait is going to be open tomorrow. And obviously, the objective has been to manipulate the market, add volatility, and keep oil prices lower than they probably should be. And they've been mostly successful at that. What the challenge has been is to look through all of that noise and to actually look at what's happening on the ground. And that's a-- gives you a real idea of what's happening. And so, what's happening on the ground is that not much has changed over the last month. The Strait is still closed. You're still only seeing two to three ships enter or exit over the last month. And the average before that, the normal would be 100-150. And so, that's the real barometer of what's happening. Not much has changed. So what has changed ov...

The best mining companies in the world focus on resources that are scarce, cheap to extract, and strategically important. TMC The Metals Company (TMC +2.04%) has these, plus one more: a potential mother lode of battery metals sitting on the deep-sea floor. If you were to take a Magic School Bus to the Pacific Ocean floor, you would find trillions of these potato-sized rocks lying openly for anyone to grab -- a true mother lode that consulting firm Arthur Little once valued as a staggering $20 trillion opportunity. Nobody is commercially mining them yet. No one, not even TMC, has the right to mine them, nor has the official rulebook for extracting them even been written. Yet TMC seems first in line to extract them. And, if all goes according to plan, early investors could be handsomely rewarded by this metals stock. What "according to plan" means for TMC TMC isn't a new company. It doesn't have technological hurdles or manufacturing problems. It has shown that its sea floor collector vehicles -- basically a giant Wall-E -- can vacuum up nodules efficiently, and it has successfully calcinated and smelted those nodules into high-grade nickel-copper-cobalt alloy and manganese silicate. No, TMC doesn't have a major industrial problem. It has a regulatory one. The deep sea floor is home to thousands of species -- possibly hundreds of thousands. We simply don't know how many species exist there, since the deep sea remains largely unknown and its species undiscovered. Deep sea mining, while allegedly less destructive overall than land mining, can still kill and disturb life in the deep ocean. Results from early studies show that mining in the Clarion-Clipperton Zone (CCZ) -- exactly where TMC has exploratory rights to extract nodules -- led to a 37% decline in animal numbers and 32% decline in species diversity. And TMC hasn't even cranked up production yet. The sensitivity of deep-sea animals to mining is something the International Seabed Authority (ISA), the governing bo...

U.S. stocks may be running out of room after a relentless rally, according to Bank of America strategists, who are warning investors to start preparing for a summer pullback. The bank said the S & P 500 has already reached its year-ahead target of 7,430, and several technical indicators suggest the advance is becoming stretched — prompting a shift away from chasing gains and toward protecting them. "Risk-reward is deteriorating, and multiple indicators favor a more defensive stance," Bank of America strategists wrote in a note to clients. "Base case: maintain trend-following longs into June, prepare for summer correction." .SPX YTD mountain S & P 500 The warning comes after U.S. stocks staged a sharp rebound from lows reached during the recent Middle East conflict, with easing geopolitical tensions helping fuel renewed appetite for risk assets. But BofA said weakening market breadth and diverging momentum signals suggest the next leg higher could prove more difficult. The bank's base-case scenario still calls for investors to maintain trend-following long positions through June, but to brace for an elevated risk of a correction between June and September. Strategists then expect the market to regain its footing later in the year, forecasting a fourth-quarter rally consistent with the second year of the U.S. presidential cycle. Despite the near-term caution, the firm ultimately believes the market will rebound to 8,000 by the end of 2026, the same level Goldman Sachs projected Wednesday.

AMD (NASDAQ:AMD) stock is up over 2x this year and more than 4x in the last twelve months. AMD stock is up over 2x this year and more than 4x in the last twelve months. The driver is simple: the AI build-out is enormous – and which company, big or small, or which government, rich or poor, doesn’t want to own a piece of it? AMD doesn’t need to beat Nvidia to win. It just needs to be the credible second source in a market this large. The downside is cushioned by relentless share gains against Intel (INTC) in servers, and the upside is direct exposure to the AI accelerator boom. Dual engines, one stock. The catch: at nearly 120x last year’s earnings and over 20x sales, a lot of story is already in the price. The question is whether the proof points keep showing up. Here’s how we frame the thesis – and the one risk we’re watching most closely. Investment Thesis Data Center Revenue Acceleration from MI300-Series GPU Ramp And EPYC CPU Share Consolidation The investment thesis centers on AMD’s structural transformation from a PC/gaming-centric company into a data center powerhouse. This is driven by the synergistic growth of its EPYC server CPUs, which continue to take significant share from Intel, and its Instinct AI accelerators (MI300 series), which are emerging as the primary viable alternative to Nvidia for AI workloads. The GPU uptake is being further accelerated by AMD’s strength in inference economics, where AMD’s MI-series accelerators deliver superior memory bandwidth and tokens per dollar – the metrics that matter most as AI workloads tilt from training to inference through 2026. The CPU business itself is poised for a renaissance – as AI shifts from training to inference and agentic workloads, the CPU-to-GPU ratio in AI deployments is moving from roughly 1:8 toward 1:4 and could approach parity, repositioning the CPU as the coordination layer of the AI stack rather than a legacy commodity. Mechanism: The rapid revenue mix shift toward the high-margin (about 70%...

Motorola says that recently discovered behavior, which saw some of its phones sending users to an affiliate tracking website before opening the Amazon app, was “unintended” and has been “promptly corrected.” The company didn’t explain how the error was introduced in the first place. “Recently, Motorola acted quickly to resolve an issue that was identified, which caused some users in the US launching the Amazon Shopping app to be routed through a web tracking link before opening the app. This behavior was unintended and resulted in an inconsistent user experience,” Allison Yi, Motorola’s executive director of product management, told The Verge in a statement. “Upon identifying the issue, we promptly corrected the routing configuration. Users can now expect all installed apps to launch directly as intended.” The unusual situation was first reported by 9to5Google after it was spotted by a Reddit user. On opening the Amazon app the phone would first briefly open the phone’s browser before returning to Amazon. Strangest of all, users were sent to a website that appears to be linked to fashion influencer Kira Abboud, though isn’t actually referenced on any of her other pages. That split-second visit was enough to install a tracking cookie however, which in turn added an affiliate code to the user’s shopping session — though, again, not one that matches any of Abboud’s other content. The code wouldn’t make any direct difference to the end user, but could theoretically allow whoever installed it to receive a small percentage of any purchase that was made. The Verge uses similar Amazon affiliate links for some of our shopping content, though always with a disclaimer, rather than installed covertly. Yi blamed the redirect on “an app search and suggestion experience for the Moto App Launcher” co-developed with Device Native. It was Device Native’s website that Reddit user Trypocopris noticed was being queried by the phone behind the scenes before users were sent to kira-abboud...
