It has been over a year since my last Genmab ( GMAB ) article, where I discussed Genmab’s pipeline, strategic partnerships, and impressive growth thanks to strong performances by DARZALEX and EPKINLY. Despite ongoing legal disputes with Johnson & Johnson ( JNJ ), I believed that the company’s upcoming Q3 earnings report was going to be a catalyst that could potentially reverse the 20% decline in the share price. Since then, the company has averaged double-digit revenue growth, and the ticker is up over 20%. However, the market’s sentiment still appears to be fixated on the company’s DARZALEX revenue, and the royalties are expected to come to an end in 2029 in the U.S. and the early 2030s in Europe. This is a major concern because DARZALEX has been the company’s primary revenue source for years, and we don’t know if the company has enough in the portfolio to offset those losses, much less continue to grow deep into the second half of the next decade. Well, I read through a recent healthcare conference presentation transcript , and it looks as if EPKINLY, Rina-S, and petosemtamab are all ready for registrational readouts that could establish Genmab’s multi-billion-dollar oncology platform and help reset the bull thesis away from DARZALEX. Currently, GMAB has dropped under my Buy Threshold of $28.25, but a strong bounce off an anchored VWAP has me considering a buy in the near term just in case the market realizes the potential of Genmab’s pending catalysts. I intend to discuss Genmab’s upcoming catalysts and how a clean run of positive data could transform GMAB’s bull thesis. Then, I will discuss how the Street expects Genmab to perform in the next decade. In addition, I will point out some of my leading downside risks that could come from these binary events. Finally, I take a look at the GMAB Daily Chart to see if I can identify an opportunity to add to my position while it is trading below my Buy Threshold. mesh cube Recession risks have become “uncomfortably high” as the U.S. economy is now “very fragile” and teetering on the edge of a downturn, said Mark Zandi, chief economist at Moody’s Analytics. In an interview with CNBC, Zandi unveiled a new recession indicator he developed with the help of AI, called the “Vicious Cycle Index,” which he says is currently signaling recession. The new index represents a twist on the Sahm Rule, created by Fed economist Claudia Sahm, but accounts for labor force participation rather than focusing solely on the unemployment rate. Zandi explained that controlling for participation is crucial given recent demographic shifts and immigration policy changes, noting that “if you control for participation and keep it the same as it was a year ago, the unemployment rate today would be about 5%.” The mechanics behind the index are straightforward: when labor market slack increases significantly over a short period, it triggers what Zandi describes as a “self-reinforcing negative cycle.” As he explained, “Consumers get spooked. They pull back on spending. That causes businesses to begin to reduce payrolls, lay off, and you get into this kind of self-reinforcing cycle.” While GDP growth remains technically positive, Zandi emphasized that the underlying growth rate has fallen below the economy’s potential. “It’s not in recession, but, boy, is it very, very close to one,” he said, cautioning that the index confirms when a recession is already underway rather than predicting one in advance. The labor market data paints a concerning picture, with Zandi observing that “the job market is going nowhere fast.” Employment has fluctuated month to month but shown no meaningful growth over the past year, while real consumer spending has barely increased since late last year and saving rates remain low with little room to decline further. Adding to the precarious situation, Zandi warned that external pressures have yet to fully materialize. The effects of th...

On May 1, 2018, the Fed said it fined the banking giant $54.75M for unsafe and unsound practices in its forex trading business. The board found deficiencies in the company's internal controls and oversight of traders who buy and sell U.S. dollars and foreign currencies for the firm's own accounts and customers. The Fed’s order required GS to improve its controls and compliance risk management. The regulator terminated the enforcement action coordinated with the New York State Department of Financial Services. Additionally, the Fed terminated the 2015 enforcement action against Crédit Agricole ( CRARF ) ( CRARY ). The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority sold about $900 million of debt this week to refund older bonds and finance transit projects, including an extension of a subway line that will serve UCLA and the future Olympic village for the 2028 Summer Games in the city. The securities, which have a top rating from S&P Global Ratings, are backed by a 0.5% county sales tax that voters approved in 2008, called Measure R, to help pay for transportation needs. About $326 million of the sale refunded bonds issued in 2016, with the remainder repaying short-term debt and funding capital projects, offering documents show. The senior-lien Measure R bonds sold this week included debt maturing in 2039 and carrying a 5% coupon, which priced to yield 3.12%, or 18 basis points below an index of benchmark tax-exempt municipal debt, data compiled by Bloomberg show. The bonds changed hands Thursday in two separate trades at the same 3.12% yield. Metro, as the authority is known, is expanding rapid transit and bus service throughout Los Angeles County as part of an initiative to provide more public transportation and to better connect to major sports venues in anticipation of the 2028 summer Olympics . Metro is working to extend its D-line westward to connect downtown Los Angeles to the University of California at Los Angeles, West Los Angeles VA Medical Center and the future athlete village for the 2028 Games , according to Metro’s website . The final section, which includes the Olympic village, is expected to open in the fall of 2027 and will offer a 25-minute ride from downtown to West LA. While the authority has a large capital improvement plan that will boost borrowing, it benefits “from the large, prosperous, and diverse economy of Los Angeles County, with high wealth and income levels,” S&P Global analysts wrote in a March report. “We expect LACMTA’s robust economy will support the pledged revenue streams’ strong performance, low volatility across economic cycles...

Just a month ago, it looked like the stock market could look forward to two or even three interest rate cuts this year. Such cuts almost always boost share prices. Today, however, the futures market sees a 78% chance that the Federal Reserve will make zero cuts in 2026. Worse, the idea is beginning to creep up that the Fed's next policy move will be a rate hike, not a cut. Cleveland Federal Reserve President Beth Hammack recently said she thinks a rate hike is possible this year. "I could see where we might need to raise rates if inflation stays persistently above our target," Hammack said in an interview with The Associated Press this month. She's not the only Fed official to see it that way. Last month, Austan Goolsbee, president of the Chicago Fed, said that "rate increases have to be on the table" if inflation ticks up in the coming months. And a recent release of minutes of the Fed's January meeting show that 19 Fed officials on the rate-setting committee wanted the Fed's statement to reflect the possibility of rate hikes. Q1 silver production fell 4% Y/Y, which the company attributed to lower head grades milled, reflecting a reduced cutoff grade in response to stronger metal prices, and gold output slipped 6% to 34,341 oz, primarily due to lower gold grades milled. The company pointed to significant improvement at the La Encantada mine in Mexico, with silver production increasing 48% Y/Y, driven by higher grades mined from the Ojuelas zone and improved ore flow from management initiatives and a new mine development contractor. First Majestic ( AG ) also said it began a restart plan for its Jerritt Canyon mine in Nevada, targeting production in H2 2027; the restart follows expanded mineral resource estimates and successful drilling results over the past two years. "Q1 production is tracking well against our 2026 guidance, with all operations performing at or above plan, positioning First Majestic favorably in the current metal price environment," CEO Keith Neumeyer said. Stocks extended their rebound Thursday, adding to Wednesday's explosive gains, on continued optimism that a fragile two-week ceasefire agreement between the U.S. and Iran will hold. Yet many on Wall Street are warning that this two-day relief rally may fade. Long-time market watcher Ed Yardeni, who started working on Wall Street in the 1970s, told clients in a report out Thursday that while the war-induced bottom is in for stocks, that doesn't mean any future recover will come in a straight line. "At the start of this year, we expected the stock market to be choppy in the first half, though we didn't anticipate the war," the president of Yardeni Research wrote. "It is likely to remain choppy until ships can sail freely through" the Strait of Hormuz, he said. That turbulence was evident Thursday, when stocks initially traded lower as West Texas Intermediate crude oil one point jumped above $100 a barrel, only to erase those losses and pushed higher at midday. All the major market averages soared Wednesday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbing nearly 3% in its best day since April 2025, as the U.S. and Iran agreed to a two-week ceasefire. .DJI mountain 2026-04-07 Dow Jones Industrial Average since the ceasefire "Just as we've aimed not to overreact during sharp market downdrafts, we intend to do the same on strong up days," Keith Lerner, chief investment officer at Truist Wealth, wrote in a note on Wednesday. "While we continue to see upside, the path higher is likely to remain choppy, given this is a ceasefire rather than a full agreement." Lerner still expects the market direction to be driven by headlines, adding to volatility. Piper Sandler's chief market technician Craig Johnson shares a similar view. The market hasn't gotten an all-clear signal to rally yet, despite Wednesday's gains. In fact, Johnson recommended on Thursday that investors fade the rally. "Intermediate-term breadth and trends remain defensive and need more time to recover," he wrote. "...
