The Minas Gerais state will offer an initial 171.1 million shares at a minimum price of 47.23 reais each, according to an updated prospectus released on Thursday. The sale may rise by up to 19.03 million additional shares. Copasa’s stock gained as much as 3.4% in Sao Paulo on Thursday, advancing to 52.48 reais. The state government re-launched Copasa’s privatization process after bids from Equatorial Energia SA and an investor group that includes Aegea Saneamentos e Participacoes SA came in below its minimum price. Copasa will now accept new offers from both companies and from any other firms that show an interest. Copasa said in a filing on Wednesday that due to “supervening factors” some of the conditions of the sale, including its schedule, would be “subject to amendment.” A partial sale of shares will be accepted, provided that at least 114.08 million shares are placed, according to the prospectus. The dollar fell against all of its major peers after a report that the US and Iran reached an agreement to extend a ceasefire, pending the approval of President Donald Trump . The Bloomberg Dollar Spot Index was 0.2% lower as of 11 a.m. in New York trading on Thursday, reversing an earlier advance driven by clashes overnight. The risk-sensitive Swedish krona and New Zealand dollar led gains among Group-of-10 currencies, while the euro rallied to trade above the $1.1650 mark. “Should a deal materialize, the dollar is likely to face additional downward pressure,” said Yusuke Miyairi , a foreign-exchange strategist at Nomura in London. The Axios report said that the memorandum of understanding between the US and Iran is for a 60-day extension of the ceasefire, negotiations to begin on the future of Iran’s nuclear program and unrestricted shipping via Hormuz. Axios cited two US officials and a regional source involved in the negotiations. Earlier in the session, the dollar fell under pressure after a reading of a key US inflation measure — the April price index for personal consumption expenditures — rose 0.4% month-over-month.
