Iranian drone and missile attacks on Kuwait killed one person, injured at least 63, and damaged the international airport, which suspended flights. Kuwait's military said it had tracked and intercepted 13 ballistic missiles and 17 drones in Kuwaiti airspace since dawn, and Bahrain's army said it had intercepted three missiles and several drones, as Iran said it had attacked the headquarters of the U.S. Fifth Fleet in the country. The U.S. and Iran had exchanged heavy fire the previous night, after the U.S. struck an empty oil tanker it said was attempting to breach its blockade. The attacks follow days of rising tensions, including over Israeli operations against Iran-backed Hezbollah militants in Lebanon, that threaten to derail U.S.-Iran talks about an interim peace deal that could reopen the Strait of Hormuz. "Market pessimism once again grows over the prospects of a U.S.-Iran deal that could pave the way for a reopening of the Strait of Hormuz," Saxo Bank analysts said in a note, adding that "for now, the risk premium continues to be partly offset by President Trump's repeated insistence that an interim agreement remains within reach." There are also worries that "Iran's proxy militant groups may turn to disrupting oil supplies in the Red Sea," which would be a "significant hit" to the oil market, as Saudi Arabia has been able to supply ~5M bbl/day via the route that avoids the Persian Gulf, ANZ analysts said. Nationwide, 5.8% of all home listings were pulled off the market in April, according to Redfin, a real estate brokerage. That ties with December for the highest share of homes delisted since March 2020, when the pandemic hit and the housing market froze. Delistings in April were up 3.8% compared with March. The increase comes as higher mortgage rates, elevated gas prices and weaker consumer confidence take their toll on housing demand. Sellers are no longer in the driver's seat and aren't getting the prices they want. Atlanta saw the highest share of homes come off the market in April, with one in 10 delisted. San Jose, California, followed with roughly 9% pulled, then Los Angeles (7.8%), Dallas (7.8%) and Seattle (7.7%). Mortgage rates had been falling at the start of this year, with the 30-year fixed briefly touching the 5% range at the end of February, according to Mortgage News Daily. They then jumped sharply when the war with Iran started and have remained elevated since then. "Buyers know they have negotiating power, often offering under the asking price and completing inspections, but some sellers just won't budge," said Patricia Ammann, a Redfin agent, in a release. Home prices have been easing, but are still higher than they were a year ago and have even begun to strengthen more recently. "Markets that depend more heavily on traditional mortgage financing and rate-sensitive buyers are seeing prices stay relatively flat," said Selma Hepp, chief economist for Cotality, in a release. "Overall, fewer markets posted year-over-year price declines in April than in prior months, pointing to continued stabilization across the housing market." The company generates revenue primarily by chartering its vessels to oil majors, commodity traders, and energy companies through a combination of spot-market voyages and fixed-rate time charters. FRO is a midstream transportation company with very cyclical shipping economics, where freight rates are more essential than the absolute price of crude oil. Seeking Alpha The tanker industry is currently benefiting from several favorable trends, including longer shipping distances, constrained fleet growth, and ongoing geopolitical disruptions that have reshaped global oil trade flows. The stock has moved with the encouraging trends and is up almost 60% in 2026. They just reported a Q1 2026 earnings miss, and the stock has drifted lower since. I am giving FRO a buy rating as I believe that tanker rates could remain elevated for the near term. This has already boosted their balance sheet and led to a huge cash flow and liquidity position. They do have an inconsistent dividend history, but their forecasted yield while profits are high is going to be tough to beat. Q1 Snapshot FRO reported an adjusted EPS of $1.55, slightly missing expectations, but up from $0.18 last year. Reported revenue was $714.2 million, and adjusted profit was $344.9 million, their strongest showing since 2004. A cash dividend declared for Q1 is $1.55 per share, and they reported $945 million in cash and equivalents. They had a $210.9 million gain on the sale of older vessels.
