The rapid growth of satellite networks is creating a global race to build the infrastructure needed to get them into orbit. Launch on Demand founder Burton Catledge is developing what could become the first US-owned commercial spaceport in Latin America, betting that demand for launch capacity will surge as the number of satellites in orbit expands dramatically over the coming decade. McKinsey aerospace expert Ryan Burkardt says existing launch infrastructure is already strained. CSIS aerospace specialist Kari Bingen sees more than just demand driving the opportunity: space could become a new frontier of geopolitical competition as China expands its footprint across Latin America. JHVEPhoto/iStock Editorial via Getty Images Investment Thesis Marvell ( MRVL ) has transformed from a cyclical semiconductor supplier to a strategic player in the emerging AI data center infrastructure landscape. While the most idealistic version of the Marvell thesis is simply that hyperscalers are looking for additional custom AI chips, the best interpretation of this thesis is that, as AI scales, the bottleneck will shift from available raw accelerator supply to the ability to transfer data among accelerators, racks, campuses, and ultimately across geographically distributed data centers. Marvell sits directly within that bottleneck through its growing product portfolio and now an ecosystem position linked to Nvidia ( NVDA ). The stock is no longer cheap. However, I do not believe traditional valuation discipline properly captures the inflection. Marvell just reported record Q1 fiscal 2027 revenue of $2.418 billion, which was up 28% year over year, and management guided Q2 revenue to $2.7 billion at the midpoint, implying a 35% year-over-year growth rate. Importantly, management said that growth should continue accelerating through fiscal 2027, driven by strength in the data center business. The Market Is Paying For A New Marvell The old Marvell was a broad-based semiconductor infrastructure company serving markets for storage, networking, carriers, enterprises, and communications. The new Marvell is fundamentally an AI data center company. Data center revenue in the first quarter of fiscal 2027 was $1.833 billion, up 27% year over year and up 11% sequentially, which represented 76% of the company's overall revenue. While communications and other revenue was strong at $585 million, up 29% year over year, it appears the gravitational center of the company has clearly shifted. This will be important as AI infrastructure continues to become increasingly network-intensive with each new model generation. Larger clusters do not simply need more GPUs or XPUs. They need ...

Could Nvidia, already at a market cap of $4.96 trillion, with a "T," actually double again anytime soon? The idea isn't outlandish at all. Nvidia's next AI chip platform, Vera Rubin, is looming , and it represents a leap forward in data center infrastructure. Here's why Nvidia stock can continue to soar and how long it may realistically take to double from here. Continue reading

Domingo Saez Romero/iStock Editorial via Getty Images AI has become the newest battleground on studio lots and union floors, pitting visions of cheaper, faster production against fears that the very soul of filmmaking is up for negotiation. Movie studios have quietly used AI tools for years in visual effects, de-aging actors, and recreating deceased performers' voices and likenesses. The threat of AI to replace human labor was a central flashpoint in the 2023 SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes. More recently, generative AI has pushed into script development, concept art, and pre-visualization, which prompted the Academy to add new restrictions to how AI is used in movies eligible for Oscar nominations. A flare-up hit the industry this week when Martin Scorsese signed on as an adviser and partner to Black Forest Labs, a German generative-AI startup behind the Flux family of image-generation models. The announcement triggered immediate criticism from parts of the film and art community, including concept artists and illustrators. Scorsese highlighted that he is using the tech to help with storyboarding, noting that for more than 50 years he's struggled to communicate his visual ideas to cast and crew. Scorsese sees the AI tool as an evolution in the filmmaking process, citing his prior adoption of 3D and de-aging technology. Meanwhile, the AI debate may ratchet up to a new level next week at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York when the AI-generated film Dreams of Violets debuts. The feature-length narrative film was completely generated by AI. It is a fictional dramatization of the massacre of Iranian civilians in January 2026, with every image and person generated using AI video tools. Notably, the film cost just $2K to make and used no cameras, lenses, actors, or sets. Director Ash Koosha acknowledged that an AI-generated film about people who actually died "raises difficult questions," while Tribeca co-founder Jane Rosenthal defended the premiere, arguing the film offers ...

Getty Images Over the past couple of years, there has been an increasing trend of companies deciding to hold cryptocurrencies. Some of them have made this space their actual business, such as Bitmine Immersion Technologies ( BMNR ). The company that's looking to own 5% of Ethereum has branched out into other investments as well but is primarily focused on this one particular crypto. On Wednesday, the company announced it would launch a new preferred equity class (BMNP), allowing it to raise even more capital. Previous Coverage of the Name The last time I took a look at Bitmine was back in January, right after the company had announced a new stake in Beast Industries. Management had been looking at ways to branch out and build out a portfolio of investments, so it took a $200 million stake in the YouTube creator's company. As Bitmine has continued to build its Ethereum stake since, the recent fall in cryptocurrency prices has taken a toll on shares. Since that January article, the stock is down more than 41%, while the S&P is up more than 10%. A New Way to Raise Capital To fund its Ethereum purchases, Bitmine has primarily relied on sales of its common stock. As of July 1st, 2025, there were only about 4.3 million shares outstanding. However, based on information from the latest 10-Q filing , that number was up to more than 537 million as of mid-April 2026. That number could be even higher given any further equity sales to facilitate Ethereum purchases. As of that 10-Q filing, there was still around $5.5 billion worth of stock that could be sold under its at-the-market sales program. Last year, we saw fellow crypto holding company Strategy ( MSTR ) issue multiple preferred share classes as a way to raise new capital. The company has raised well over $15 billion since, but that's also put Strategy on the hook for nearly $1.7 billion in annual payments to those preferred holders. Recently, Strategy sold a very small amount of Bitcoin to help with some of those payments...

Under cover of darkness, three people pried open a manhole cover in Queens, New York, and clambered down into the sewer. The incident might have gone unnoticed, but the subterranean quest, which was caught on film, captured New Yorkers’ interest when it happened again, and again, in the same month, with two other groups filmed making their way in and out of the sewer system in Brooklyn. The string of events have seen those involved dubbed “mole people” by the local press. Continue reading...

In this article UL PG UL KMB EPC Follow your favorite stocks CREATE FREE ACCOUNT Mammoth Brands wants to take on traditional consumer packaged goods companies, armed with a portfolio of disruptors in the personal and baby care categories that have won over consumers and retailers alike. For the last decade, upstarts like those owned by Mammoth have challenged the relevance and longstanding dominance of legacy giants like Procter & Gamble , Unilever and Kimberly-Clark . The trend has also played out across packaged food and beverage companies, like Poppi and Olipop taking on Coca-Cola and PepsiCo . Consumers' loyalty no longer draws on just brand recognition. Newcomers can offer shoppers something different: better prices, higher quality or fewer ingredients that scare them. "A lot of these companies call these smaller brands 'ankle biters' — tells you exactly what you need to know about how they view the threat," said Nik Modi, co-head of global consumer and retailer research for RBC Capital Markets. "But I think that they're taking it a lot more seriously. I think it's gotten to a tipping point." With brands like Harry's razors, Lume Deodorant and Coterie diapers, Mammoth is reshaping the consumer goods landscape, and it has ambitious plans. "We're trying to build a leading modern [consumer packaged goods] company, like if Procter & Gamble and Unilever were getting built today," Mammoth co-founder and co-CEO Andy Katz-Mayfield told CNBC. In 2024, Mammoth saw revenue of $835 million and almost $100 million in adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, according to a statement from the company. While legacy consumer giants still dwarf the company with their tens of billions of dollars in annual revenue, Mammoth said it has seen a greater than 20% revenue compound annual growth rate over the prior five years through 2024. Soon, a wider swath of investors could bet on the company's vision. Mammoth is weighing an initial public offering as ...

Image Source/DigitalVision via Getty Images A few days ago, I published an article introducing what I call the "HALO framework: Heavy Assets, Low Obsolescence." The premise was simple: Some of the world's most valuable businesses own physical assets that competitors simply cannot recreate. I highlighted companies such as American Tower ( AMT ), Equinix ( EQIX ), Brookfield Infrastructure ( BIP ) ( BIPC ), Prologis ( PLD ), and VICI Properties ( VICI ), Americold ( COLD ), Lineage ( LINE ), and Lamar Advertising ( LAMR ) because they control assets protected by scarcity, regulation, network effects, and enormous replacement costs. Today, I want to discuss a little-known company that may represent one of the purest HALO opportunities I've found yet. SKYH Investor Deck Sky Harbour Group ( SKYH ) Most investors see a small-cap aviation infrastructure company generating accounting losses. However, I see something entirely different. I see a company assembling long-term control over some of the most irreplaceable airport real estate in the US while creating a development platform that could eventually resemble a specialized infrastructure REIT. If management continues to execute, Sky Harbour may become one of the most compelling wide-moat infrastructure investments available today. In my recent HALO article , I referenced comments from legendary investor Chris Hohn of TCI Fund Management. He observed, "There are many, many moats. One, which most people don't look at, actually, is irreplaceable physical assets." He later expanded on that idea while discussing airports: "They'll never build a second airport at Madrid. These are natural monopolies." That observation is remarkably important because investors spend enormous amounts of time searching for software advantages, patents, brands, and intellectual property, yet some of the strongest competitive advantages arise from physical scarcity. At first glance, Sky Harbour appears to be a hangar developer. However, that descri...

vadimrysev/iStock via Getty Images Thesis Bonterra Energy ( BNEFF ) is a Canadian micro-cap oil producer that holds assets in northwest Canada. I last covered the company in 2024, so quite a few things have changed . Since then, the company has shifted its investment focus from small (yet reliable) wells in the Cardium to higher yield plays in the Montney and Charlie Lake basins. Both of these are developing plays with significant upside. However, this has resulted in the company stacking on elevated debt levels, putting some stress on the balance sheet. This current upcycle allows the company to achieve both growth and solid financial stewardship, making it a critical point for the company. The company's Charlie Lake assets have tremendous return potential, paying back in less than 8 months at $70 WTI pricing. Funding the development of this asset paves the way for a rebirth of profitability and renewed balance sheet strength. The company combines this strong profitability with the ability to convert high debt into higher shareholder value. The risks associated with small-scale producers are offset through a significant discount to the net present value of available inventory. Adding all of these factors together creates an opportunity worthy of a Strong Buy recommendation. Note: All dollar values are expressed in CAD with the exception of crude oil prices. Who is Bonterra Energy? With the knowledge that I haven't covered this company in over two years, I believe investors are owed a slight refresh on the topic. BNEFF's operations are split across three different operating regions. The bulk of the company's acreage sits in the Cardium play. Sometime after my previous coverage, BNEFF acquired starting positions in both the Montney and Charlie Lake. These two regions differ rather significantly from the company's traditional production in both production volumes and required capital investment. Operational Map (BNEFF Investor Presentation) While the Cardium displayed...
