Getty Images A potential SpaceX IPO may reshape space investing, but WARP’s approach focuses on index eligibility rather than hype. If SpaceX ( SPCX ) becomes publicly available, should it be added to an ETF immediately? For a rules-based ETF like the VanEck Space ETF ( WARP ) , the answer is intentionally disciplined. WARP is designed to own publicly traded companies that meet the eligibility requirements of its underlying index. That means SpaceX’s popularity or importance to the space economy does not determine its inclusion. It would need to satisfy the index’s rules before it could be included. That distinction matters. Why Shouldn’t an ETF Own SpaceX Before the IPO? Certain investors can gain private-market exposure to companies before they go public, including through special purpose vehicles, private funds, or other secondary-market structures. These vehicles can offer early access, but they can also introduce tradeoffs, such as limited liquidity, valuation uncertainty, transfer restrictions, lockups, additional fees, and less transparency than public equity ownership. ETFs operate differently. ETFs are built around daily transparency, daily liquidity, and a clear creation/redemption process. Owning a private vehicle instead of public shares can create complications around these. That is why, in our view, waiting for public-market eligibility is the more prudent approach for adding new entrants to an ETF. WARP’s Framework for Adding Potential SpaceX Exposure WARP tracks the MarketVector Space Index (MVWARP), a rules-based index focused on publicly traded companies tied to the space economy. The index methodology determines which companies are eligible, when they may be added, and how large each position can be. For newly public companies, this process depends on the size of the IPO and when it happens relative to the index’s quarterly rebalance calendar. Standard IPO Rule Large IPO Rule A newly public company can be added at a regular index review if it has ...

Investment firm UBS recently named Dutch Bros (NYSE: BROS) its top pick in the restaurant sector, with analyst Dennis Geiger placing an $85 price target on the stock. That's more than 50% upside based on the stock's price as of June 4. Geiger highlighted strong and accelerating traffic trends at the coffee shop operator, driven by menu innovation, increasing mobile orders, and the introduction of hot food items. He also noted that new stores are seeing strong growth, helping support mid-teens unit growth. As such, he believes the company could top expectations this year, especially given that Dutch Bros management tends to issue conservative guidance. Image source: Getty Images. Continue reading

The Bank of Israel intervened in the foreign exchange market in May, purchasing $801 million as the shekel reached the strongest level in over three decades. The transactions were made to maintain the “orderly functioning of the markets,” the central bank said Sunday in a monthly report on foreign exchange reserves. The level of reserves increased by $2.9 billion in May, it added. The shekel appreciated by roughly 4.6% last month even as the central bank sought to curb its rise. It was the biggest gainer in a basket of major currencies tracked by Bloomberg in May, ending the month at 2.81 against the US dollar. The currency has since reversed course, trending lower since June 2, when Bank of Israel Governor Amir Yaron hinted at the prospect of faster interest cuts, citing a reduction in inflation expectations. The comments came after the central bank cut rates by a quarter point to 3.75% on May 25. The central bank has been under pressure to lower borrowing costs and intervene in the FX trade from Israeli exporters, including tech companies, who are struggling to cope with the currency’s strength as they earn revenue in dollars but spend in shekels. READ MORE: Israeli Shekel at 32-Year High Is Causing Angst in Tech Industry Avi Troub, head of the Israeli High-Tech Association, told Bloomberg last month that some firms are having to relocate employees and plants abroad because it’s too expensive to hire locally. High-tech exports rose to approximately $85 billion in 2025, accounting for 58% of total exports, according to the Israeli Innovation Authority. “It’s a conscious decision to sacrifice industry and high-tech,” the Manufacturers Association of Israel, a lobbying group, said in a statement after the rate cut in late May. It said the central bank had failed to grasp the severity of the situation facing exporters and industry. Attack was ‘extremely vile’ and deliberate, says Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelenskyy A Russian Shahed drone has substantially damaged a building used to store spent nuclear fuel close to the disused Chornobyl nuclear power plant in what Ukraine’s president described as a deliberate and “extremely vile” attack. While the structure – the reception building of the spent fuel storage facility – was empty of containers at the time, the targeting of the sensitive site appeared to be direct messaging from Moscow amid an intensifying battle of long-range aerial strikes that has seen high-profile locations hit on both sides. Jonathan Raa | Nurphoto | Getty Images OPEC+ is set to agree on Sunday a fourth increase in oil output targets in as many months, three OPEC+ sources said, even though the U.S. war with Iran is still preventing several of the group's members from pumping more. The war has cut oil flows through the Strait of Hormuz, creating the world's biggest-ever supply crisis, as key OPEC+ members, including Saudi Arabia, have been unable to supply customers in full since the end of February. The crisis for OPEC+ deepened when the United Arab Emirates left the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries after almost 60 years. Seven core members of OPEC+, which groups OPEC and allied producers including Russia, have increased their output quotas from April to June by almost 600,000 barrels per day. In reality, the group's production has collapsed due to export cuts by Gulf members, with April output averaging 33.19 million bpd, down from 42.77 million in February, according to OPEC figures. On Sunday, the seven members will likely increase targets by about 188,000 bpd from July, the sources said. This is the same as the June hike, which was adjusted downward from monthly increases of 206,000 bpd in May and April to account for the UAE's exit. All the sources spoke on condition of anonymity and said a final decision had not been made. OPEC and OPEC+ are due to hold four meetings on Sunday, the first of which is a panel called the Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee, scheduled to start at 1230 GMT, two sources said. The seven of 21 OPEC+ members due to meet later on Sunday are Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwait, Algeria, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Oman. In recent years, only the seven plus the UAE when it was a member have been involved in the group's output policy decisions. A full OPEC+ ministerial meeting is also scheduled for Sunday but is not expected to make any changes to group-wide output policy, the sources said. Oil prices fell on Friday as traders gained confidence that ren...
