Sean Gallup/Getty Images News Microsoft ( MSFT ) will kick off its annual Build developer conference in San Francisco on Tuesday, where the tech giant is expected to unveil in-house AI models, new AI features for Windows and details of its upcoming Copilot "super app." The company will announce its first reasoning model, called MAI-Thinking-1, at the event, The Verge reported, citing sources. Microsoft's ( MSFT ) AI chief Mustafa Suleyman last week previewed the MAI-Image-2.5 model, which generates images from text prompts, adding that there was more to come from the AI team. The company plans to unveil a coding model to boost the competitiveness of its AI coding assistant GitHub Copilot, a source aware of the plans told The Information . The first Windows PCs using Nvidia's ( NVDA ) custom-built AI chips may debut at Build. Microsoft ( MSFT ) will also unveil a new Windows 11 developer optimized experience. "We are building toward a future where Windows provides a unified foundation for AI, from the device in your hands to the infrastructure behind it," according to a Microsoft ( MSFT ) blog post . "We look forward to sharing more on our vision of Windows for developers at Microsoft Build." Meanwhile, the company is working on a super app that would include GitHub Copilot, Copilot chat function, Copilot Cowork tool and a new agentic workflow capability internally named Autopilot, Fortune reported last week. Microsoft ( MSFT ) is not expected to launch the super app at Build, but it may provide updates on its progress.
