Take, for example, the Vanguard Energy ETF (NYSEMKT:VDE) which offers a low-cost entry to traditional fossil fuel giants, and the VanEck Uranium and Nuclear ETF (NYSEMKT:NLR) focused on the specialized infrastructure and utilities of the nuclear power industry. Comparing these two funds helps better understand how different energy subsectors behave, especially regarding price volatility and sector concentration, and make better investment decisions. N Rotteveel/iStock Editorial via Getty Images Canaan ( CAN ) released its unaudited May 2026 bitcoin mining update, reporting production of 90 BTC from self-mining operations and another 24 BTC received from customers. The company's crypto treasury reached a record 1.87K BTC and 3.95K Ethereum ( ETH-USD ) at the end of May. The company ended the month with 10.05 EH/s of installed hashrate and 6.47 EH/s of operating hashrate after a planned hosting agreement expired. Global mining efficiency improved 13.5% YoY to 23.7 J/TH, while average power costs remained low at $0.043 per kWh. Its North American fleet achieved a record efficiency of 17.9 J/TH. Canaan's joint venture operations produced about 45 BTC during May despite wildfire-related disruptions at the Alborz facility in Texas. The management expects the site to return to full operations in mid-June. Beyond mining, the company operated 12 mining projects globally with a total computing power of 14.96 EH/s. It also expanded its 8 MW Nordic hash-to-heat project and strengthened its partnership with Tether ( USDT-USD ) via a follow-up order for next-generation mining and computing systems. Just 100 days ago, when new Microsoft Gaming CEO Asha Sharma replaced long-serving executive Phil Spencer , she said she'd work to "understand what makes [Xbox] work and protect it." Now, Sharma and Xbox Studios chief Matt Booty have laid out the many things that are not working for the Xbox brand in a brutal self-assessment the they say necessitates a wholesale "Xbox reset." The message sent to Xbox employees and shared publicly via Xbox Wire last night paints a grim picture for practically every facet of the Xbox division. That portion of Microsoft is currently only seeing a "3% accountability margin" (read: profit margin), down year over year and well below both the game industry average and the lofty 30% margins that Microsoft is reportedly seeking across the board. It's an underperformance, they write, born out of being "over extended" by moves like the $69 billion acquisition of Activision . That mega-merger came on top of $20 billion in spending on other acquisitions, platform investments, and hardware subsidies over the last five years, the executives write. But despite the spending spree, Microsoft's overall gaming revenues are down nearly $500 million compared to five years ago. Read full article Comments

DavidLeshem/iStock via Getty Images Founded in 1986, Corpay ( CPAY ), formerly FleetCor Technologies, is a fintech company providing spend management and payment systems globally. Some of its offerings enable accounts payable process automation, virtual cards, and also cross-border payment, among others. As of Q1, CPAY’s most important business has been its Corporate Payments, which include its fast-growing cross-border payment processing business. As such, I would consider traditional or commercial banking companies like WEX or SAP with its Concur product, as competitors. Overall, share performance since going public in 2010 has been exceptional. Just trading around $28 then, CPAY most recently traded at $349 per share, reflecting relatively robust secular demand for automated financial and payment systems. Though CPAY only recorded roughly a 2% return from a 1-year standpoint, shares have relatively trended positively and appreciated by 16% YTD despite some volatilities. I initiate my coverage with a buy rating. My FY 2026 price target analysis suggests that CPAY could reach a 9% share price upside. Supported by its robust platform and the potentially unpriced medium-term catalyst, CPAY seems like an interesting opportunity, in my opinion. Financial Reviews As of Q1 2026, its latest quarter, I believe fundamentals have been improving across the board. Top-line growth was robust, followed by expanding profitability. company presentation Quarterly revenue was $1.26 billion, a 25% YoY growth, which is exceptional, primarily driven by the double-digit growth in Corporate Payments. Furthermore, the management also raised FY guidance midpoint to $5.3 billion. Meanwhile, profitability saw a significant expansion. Adjusted EPS saw 29% YoY growth to $5.8, while adjusted EBITDA (aEBITDA) grew 24% YoY to $689 million. As I looked into its Q1 , it seemed that the profitability drivers were the operating income outperformance in both Corporate Payments and Vehicle Payments. Si...
