On top of that, the demand profile used to be associated with slower and more predictable device categories. PCs, smartphones, and classical servers definitely counted, but they did not introduce such urgency for customers that they needed to enter long-term strategic agreements with suppliers. The demand was high, and the memory segment was indeed crucial, but it lacked true differentiation and scarcity to drive more strategic behavior on the customers' end.
