Constellation Energy (NASDAQ: CEG) is in the middle of its own bear market, with its stock down 25% from its 52-week high. The company has been making some big moves, expanding its business and inking important power supply deals. The problem is a shift in investor sentiment. But for most investors, the recent negativity around the stock probably isn't bad enough to make it a buy. Unlike a regulated electric utility , Constellation Energy sells power on the open market. That is good if demand for electricity is material, since the company can charge what are likely to be attractive market rates. The world is increasingly using electricity, with huge demand coming from technologies like electric vehicles and artificial intelligence. Electricity demand is, indeed, strong right now, and it is expected to remain strong for years to come. Image source: Getty Images. Continue reading

The 22-year-old aspiring orthopedic surgeon from northern India got some money from his parents, but he says he spent most of it subsidizing his licensing exams, and he’s still saving up to hopefully emigrate to the US after graduation. So he started searching for ways to make additional money online. Sam, who requested a pseudonym to avoid jeopardizing his medical career and immigration status, tried a few things, with varying degrees of legitimacy and success. He made YouTube shorts and sold study notes to other med students. It wasn’t until he started scrolling through his Instagram feed that he landed on an idea: Why not make an AI-generated girl using Google Gemini’s Nano Banana Pro and sell bikini photos of her online? magnez2 American Express ( AXP ) is set to announce first-quarter earnings on Thursday, and investors will watch the company’s premium card growth and member spending trends amid a softer consumer environment. Wall Street expects the credit card lender and network to post EPS of $3.99, while revenue is expected to rise 9.7% year-over-year to $18.61B for the quarter. The credit card lender missed earnings last quarter as expenses exceeded consensus and the growth of new cards acquired slowed. Still, member spending was strong, and credit remained healthy. CEO Stephen Squeri, during the Q4 earnings call, provided 2026 guidance of 9% to 10% revenue growth and EPS of $17.30 to $17.90. Squeri added that card fee growth is expected to pick up as the year progresses, driven by the impact of the Platinum refresh, with growth exiting the year in the high teens. However, the stock is down over 10% so far this year, underperforming the benchmark S&P 500, which has gained 3.2% in the same period. Seeking Alpha’s Quant Rating and its analysts are cautious, rating the stock a Hold. However, Wall Street analysts are bullish, rating it a Buy. Seeking Alpha analyst Passage Research highlighted that American Express faces near-term earnings risk due to potential sequential spending weakness, particularly in international and travel-related segments. The analyst added that Q1 revenue growth may fall short of Street estimates but expects a rebound in Q2 as geopolitical tensions ease and comparisons become more favorable. “However, AXP maintains robust capital allocation, with a 34% ROE, strong buybacks, and a 16% dividend increase supporting long-term compounding,” Passage Research concluded. During its last-quarter earnings call, the firm highlighted that operating expenses for 2026 are projected to grow in the mid-single digits, while marketing expenses are expected to increase in the low single digits. Morgan Stanley analysts noted that management’s confidence in long-term growth ta...
