Lawrence Shankland says there is a ‘club feel’ in the camp after eight goals in two confidence- building friendly wins Scotland arrived at Euro 2024 with more questions than answers swirling around their squad. The team were on a poor run of form, with umpteen players looking jaded. What happened next proved grisly. While the level of Curaçao and Bolivia – plus the motivational levels of the latter – must be acknowledged, a Scottish side notching eight goals in back-to-back friendlies has altered grey areas for Steve Clarke. Scotland’s picture before Saturday’s World Cup opener against Haiti is now a clearer one. This time, they look far from jaded. Continue reading...

OpenAI's ( OPENAI ) ChatGPT: Winner : France Runner-up : Spain Dark horses : Colombia, Norway, Morocco. Japan is the “smart money nuisance” team — maybe not a champion, but very capable of wrecking brackets. Alphabet's ( GOOG ) ( GOOGL ) Gemini: Winner : France Runner-up: Argentina Dark horses : Colombia: Currently playing top-5 world football; high cohesion. Norway: Erling Haaland is rested (no mid-season tournament) and finally has a world-class supporting cast (Odegaard, Nusa). Türkiye: A young, fearless squad that thrives in high-pressure atmospheres. Anthropic's ( ANTHRO ) Claude: Winner : France Runner-up : Spain Dark horses : Norway (Haaland can carry you to a semi-final almost unilaterally), Colombia (tactically mature, underestimated), Morocco (the 2022 semi-final was not a fluke — Hakimi fitness permitting). United States – The HostsHome soil for all group games. Pochettino is a knockout specialist. Pulisic is entering his prime. Olga Kostrova /iStock via Getty Images I am positive about Skeena Resources ( SKE ), as I believe investors continue to price it like a high-risk developer at the exact moment when its risk profile is changing. While it is true Eskay Creek is a high-grade gold-silver project in British Columbia's Golden Triangle, the more significant aspect of the story is Skeena becoming a scarce, fully permitted, materially funded, mid-construction precious metals company with a clear line of sight to initial production in the second quarter of 2027. This transition matters because many of the greatest values in mining projects are generated during the period when the existential risks are removed, but the market does not yet recognize the asset as a producing mine. For Skeena, the biggest risks have moved from permitting and financing to management's execution of the remaining construction plan, and I consider those risks significantly better than they were previously. Eskay Creek was 49% complete as of the latest update, with 66% of total project costs contractually committed, and initial production remains targeted for Q2 2027 with commercial production expected in Q3 2027. Financing Over Losses Skeena's last financial results have to be looked at as a development-stage company. In comparison to the previous year's quarterly loss of C$38.2M, Skeena reported no revenue and posted a loss of C$104.5M in its most recent quarter. The increase in losses is largely attributable to non-operating and financing related items such as a C$54.4M change in the fair value of the gold stream derivative liability, a C$10.8M impairment charge related to transaction costs and availability fees associated with the senior secured term loan facility that was terminated post-quarter end, a C$11.9M unrealized loss on marketable securities, and a C$11.9M share-based payment expense. The cash flow statement is cleaner. During Q1 '26, operating activities used C$15.2 million, significantly lower than the...

Move comes as 137 Labour MPs sign letter demanding ‘urgent, concrete action’ to stop settler violence The UK Foreign Office and a group of western countries are due to announce a package of sanctions against Israel this week designed to deter companies from becoming involved in a new proposed West Bank settlement that would split the territory in two and render the concept of a two-state solution near impossible. The package follows a warning by nine countries including France, the UK and Australia that settlement violence must stop and no company should be involved in what is known as the E1 development. Tenders were opened this month for the development of more than 3,000 homes between Jerusalem and the Ma’ale Adumim. The development would split the West Bank between north and south, and so effectively make a contiguous Palestinian West Bank impossible. Continue reading...

The console industry is in a weird place , and both Xbox and PlayStation have a chance to change the narrative a bit with their showcases at Summer Game Fest. Sony did that by focusing on the single-player titles it’s known for , and now it’s Microsoft’s turn. The Xbox Games Showcase airs on June 7th at 1PM ET (you can watch it on both YouTube and Twitch ), and will be followed by a second presentation focused entirely on Gears of War: E-Day . The event comes at an interesting time for Xbox. Microsoft’s gaming division went through an executive shake-up in April , and new boss Asha Sharma has been making some smaller but welcome changes, while also promising what she calls the “ return of Xbox .” Given how confused the Xbox brand has been of late , it seems likely bigger changes are on the way. The SGF keynote will be focused entirely on games — Microsoft has already said it won’t be talking about its next console — which will likely include major titles like the Halo remake and the recently delayed Fable . But to really make an impression and show the Xbox name is on the right track, there will have to be some surprises. Maybe we’ll finally get a look at The Elder Scrolls VI ? Whatever Microsoft does have in store, you can watch the entire thing at the embed below, and stay tuned to this stream for all of the most important announcements. The Xbox Games Showcase is starting soon. Xbox and PlayStation have a lot to prove There won’t be Project Helix news at the Xbox Games Showcase.
