Parradee Kietsirikul/iStock via Getty Images On January 21, 2026, I published my last article about the German consumer goods company Henkel AG ( HENKY ). I was once again bullish about the stock and even argued that Henkel might be deeply undervalued. In the conclusion of my last article, I wrote: We should not expect Henkel to grow at a high pace in the years to come and probably expect low-to-mid single-digit growth rates at best. However, even when calculating with rather low growth rates, the stock has to be seen as undervalued. The free cash flow of the last four quarters as well as 4% growth are rather moderate assumptions. I still think Henkel is a solid long-term investment, and, in my opinion, the stock price should move higher at some point. While I don't see the potential for explosive growth, an investment should be able to return 10% in the long run, and the company is also rather recession-resilient, which is a good quality for a stable, long-term investment. When my last article was published, the ordinary share traded for €67.50. In the next few weeks, the stock performed quite well and increased to €77 before it started declining again. Now the stock is trading almost 10% lower compared to my last article, and as I already rated the stock as a "Buy", we should be bullish once again as Henkel is now trading for a lower stock price. In the following article, I will argue why Henkel is still a "Buy" in my opinion. However, I will also argue that I am a little more cautious this time and don't necessarily see it as an extreme bargain, as the fundamentals are still disappointing and there is no clear path towards higher growth rates visible. Quarterly Results As always, we start by looking at the last quarter's results, although Henkel was reporting only limited results for the first quarter, similar to most other European companies. Sales declined from €5,242 million in Q1/25 to €4,952 million in Q1/26 - resulting in a 5.5% year-over-year decline. Howe...

Has Trump Opened Pandora's Box? Authored by John Rosenburger , Senior Fellow at Eisenhower Media Network The limits of U.S. military power are now fully exposed. 2.5 months in to the U.S.-Israeli war against a nation that posed no threat to the United States’ vital interests, justified by a pyramid of lies, several things are abundantly clear. President Trump failed to define clear and viable political objectives to achieve in our role as Israel’s proxy in yet another war of choice. “Viable” here meaning objectives that are realistically attainable through the military means at a nation’s disposal. In his classic work Strategy , British theorist B. H. Liddell Hart emphasized that a political leader’s foremost duty is to ensure that war aims are grounded in military reality. As he famously warned, political objectives must “not demand what is militarily impossible.” Yet that is precisely the error President Trump committed. Credit: Wikimedia Commons & Amazon Without clearly defined political objectives, it is impossible to construct U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), which is in charge of military operations in West Asia and appears to be moving from one ineffective tactic to the next without any unifying operational design. The repeated bombing of military‑related targets across a country the size of Western Europe with more than 90 million people is not a strategy; it is a tactic untethered to any discernible operational or strategic end state. By limiting ourselves almost entirely to the use of airpower—fully aware that the American public will not accept another protracted ground war in the Middle East, particularly on behalf of Israel’s interests—the Trump administration has boxed itself into an approach with no historical precedent for success. No regime of Iran’s scale has ever been overthrown through airpower alone, and there is no reason to believe this conflict will be the first. Despite repeated assurances that the war is being won, President Trump has provid...

narvo vexar/iStock via Getty Images Thesis: The Market Serves Up A Gift With Liberty Broadband Preferreds Trading Well Below Par Let me start out by stating that, in my view, it's completely understandable if there are investors who have lost track of the developments around Liberty Broadband ( LBRDA )( LBRDB )( LBRDK )( LBRDP ), Charter Communications ( CHTR ), and Cox Communications (privately owned). Two simultaneous pending mergers, i.e., Charter with Liberty Broadband and Charter with Cox, and unusual creative Liberty-type financing obfuscate the situation around these companies significantly. Some investors may want to avoid trading in their securities altogether because of this. Furthermore, if this isn't enough to cause confusion and scare investors away, the recent dismal performance of Charter's cable business may do the job. The market sell-off right after the Q1 2026 earnings makes this clear. The image below shows the steep drop in price for the CHTR shares and the LBRDA tracking stock on April 24th, 2026, right after the release of the Q1 print. Data by YCharts With the many complexities and developments, it can take almost the equivalent of a day job to follow Charter, Liberty Broadband, and Cox in detail, but, if one knows where to look, putting in some effort may be worth it. There are still opportunities to be found in the whole situation. This article argues that buying the Liberty Broadband preferred stock is one of those. The Liberty Broadband preferreds currently trade under the ticker "LBRDP" for under $22 per share (see graph below). Like the common stock, they also saw a steep drop in price after the Q1 earnings. In my opinion, at this rare discount to the $25 par value, the market is serving up a gift for those who believe that Charter Communications will remain in business until at least 2039. LBRDP price chart YtD 2026 (Seeking Alpha) I specifically mentioned the current ticker, because the LBRDP stock will turn into Charter preferred sto...

Indonesia’s finance and central bank officials said they will step up efforts to stabilize the currency and attract inflows after a week where the nation’s stocks tumbled at the fastest pace worldwide and its currency sank to all-time lows. Authorities will aim to maintain sufficient liquidity in the market and work together to boost yields and attract capital inflows, Bank Indonesia Governor Perry Warjiyo said at a press briefing on Saturday. The central bank will increase the interest rate for government cash placed with it, Warjiyo said. Indonesia’s fiscal situation is sound and the government will continue to synchronize policy with the central bank to boost growth, preserve stability and purchasing power, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa said at the same briefing. Where It's Hardest To Afford A Home Big cities like Hong Kong or Los Angeles are well-known for their expensive real estate markets. But there are also plenty of housing markets you wouldn’t necessarily expect among the least affordable – including several in Australia , New Zealand and Canada . As Statista's Tristan Gaudiaut details below, according to a 2026 ranking by Forbes , Hong Kong remains the world’s least affordable housing market, with median home prices still more than 16 times higher than median pre-tax household incomes , based on the dominant housing type in each market. You will find more infographics at Statista It is followed by Sydney (13.8) and Vancouver (11.8), while several U.S. cities, including San Jose (11.4), Los Angeles (10.9) and Honolulu (10.5), also rank among the least affordable. The first European market in the ranking is London, with a price-to-income ratio of 8.1. Overall, the list highlights the continued dominance of major cities in Australia, Canada and the United States . While affordability ratios have eased slightly in some markets in recent years, the broader trend remains unchanged. Across most major urban areas, ratios still hover well above historic norms, often in the 8-to-14 range, meaning housing costs continue to outpace incomes by a wide margin and keep homeownership out of reach for large parts of the population.
