When the Iranian regime abruptly shut down the internet in January during a brutal crackdown on protesters, some state-sponsored hackers managed to stay online. The weeks-long internet blackout isolated over 90 million Iranians from the world. But some cyber-espionage groups apparently were able to keep working on the heavily monitored domestic intranet and “whitelisted” IP addresses linked to the regime that gave them continued access to the world wide web. MuddyWater, a hacking group allegedly linked to Iran’s Intelligence Ministry, continued to launch cyberattacks on Israeli companies during the shutdown, according to Rafael Franco, the former deputy director general of the Israel National Cyber Directorate. Franco, who runs cybersecurity firm Code Blue, said the internet restrictions forced a change in the hackers’ modus operandi. Iranian attackers shifted from distributed denial-of-service attacks and influence campaigns to so-called wiper attacks designed to delete data and disrupt organizations. “You need a lot of internet capacity and power” for influence campaigns to manipulate public opinion and DDoS attacks, Franco said. “This is why I think we don’t see influence campaigns. We don’t see DDoS campaigns. What we see is business continuity shutdown campaigns.” Campaigns during the blackout, which started Jan. 8 and started to ease after about 20 days, highlight what Franco says is the Iranian regime’s institutional support for cyberattackers. A spokesperson for the Iranian government didn’t respond to a request for comment. There has been a spike in cyberattacks against Israeli politicians, defense officials, academics and journalists since the June war between Israel and Iran, according to Israeli authorities. These have included attempts to break into Google, WhatsApp and Telegram accounts via phishing attempts. Israeli media reported Iranian hackers were behind a December leak of contacts and photos from former Israeli prime minister Naftali Bennett’s Te...

Bridget Bennett | Bloomberg | Getty Images Nvidia is scheduled to report fiscal fourth-quarter results after the close of regular trading on Wednesday. Here's what Wall Street is expecting, according to LSEG consensus estimates: EPS : $1.53 adjusted Revenue : $66.2 billion Analysts expect revenue growth of 68% from $39.3 billion a year earlier. That would mark an 11th straight quarter of growth above 55% for the company that's been the biggest beneficiary of the artificial intelligence boom. The streak is likely to continue for another period, as analysts project growth of 65% to $72.6 billion in the quarter that ends in April, according to LSEG. Wall Street got a good preview of what to expect in the coming quarters when the four major hyperscalers — Alphabet , Amazon , Meta and Microsoft — reported quarterly results a few weeks ago. Based on their forecasts for capital expenditures along with analyst estimates, combined capex for the year could approach $700 billion as the tech giants build out their AI infrastructure. A big chunk of that goes directly to Nvidia, which dominates the market for AI chips. The company sells its pricey graphics processing units to the biggest tech companies as well as high-valued AI startups OpenAI and Anthropic . Nvidia, which gained prominence by providing graphics cards used for video games, now gets roughly 90% of its revenue from data center hardware. Its data center business is expected to record growth of 70% to $60.7 billion, according to StreetAccount. One area of potential concern for investors is the soaring price of memory, which faces a global shortage because of spiking demand. Micron business chief Sumit Sadana told CNBC in January that demand "has far outpaced our ability to supply that memory." For Nvidia, memory is a critical component of its AI systems, and analyst...

Choosing an age to begin claiming Social Security is one of the most important retirement decisions you'll make, as it will affect your monthly income for the rest of your life. You'll receive 100% of your earned benefit by filing at your full retirement age -- which is between ages 66 and 67, depending on your birth year. Claim earlier than that, and your payment will be reduced by up to 30%. By delaying benefits past your full retirement age, you'll earn up to 32% extra on top of your full benefit. Your claiming age depends on your situation, so there's no one-size-fits-all answer to when everyone should file. That said, research shows that when it comes to finances, one age clearly outshines the rest. Continue reading

Dmitry Vinogradov RBC Capital Markets has initiated coverage of AbbVie ( ABBV ) at outperform saying the company has underperformed based on unfounded concerns and will benefit from growing Skyrizi and Rinvoq sales. The bank has a $260 price target (~14% upside based on Feb. 24 close). Analyst Trung Huynh said that others have been wrong about AbbVie in claiming that "the 'beat-and-raise' story is over and competition threatens immunology." He noted that sales of Skyrizi and Rinvoq are poised to increase given the company is still in "early indication expansion" for the drugs. Huynh added that AbbVie benefits from no near-term loss of exclusivity issues for its currently marketed medicines and doesn't need to engage in M&A. "At <16x, ABBV trades closer to Pharma’s facing large LOEs ( MRK ) than high growth companies ( LLY ) when it delivers top-tier c.17% EPS growth (peers 6%)—PEG valuation is more attractive than LLY," he wrote. Huynh said that in 2026, Rinvoq has three catalysts, and Skyrizi has two. The FDA is also expected to render a decision on tavapadon for Parkinson's disease, while AbbVie is slated to release phase 1 data for long-acting amylin analogue ABBV-295 for obesity, and lutikizumab phase 3 data in hidradenitis suppurativa. A leading engineer of the European Central Bank ’s monetary policy is set to leave early in a pivotal management change that coincides with the looming revamp of its top echelon. Massimo Rostagno will exit as director general monetary policy at the end of the week, according to a spokesperson for the institution in Frankfurt. His early retirement, cited as being for personal reasons, will start as of Feb. 28, instead of an exit previously expected only in 2027. The Italian is widely seen as one of the architects of the ECB’s ultra-loose measures in the 2010s such as quantitative easing. He has led the business area that assesses the central bank’s monetary-policy stance and prepares interest-rate decisions since 2017. Rostagno joined the ECB at its creation. His career at the institution included a stint as director monetary policy at a time when the directorate was a driving force in designing the package of unconventional measures — including negative rates and large-scale asset purchases — that the ECB under President Mario Draghi enacted after June 2014, when inflation was too low. More recently, the ECB faced harsh criticism for significantly underestimating the surge in consumer-price growth in 2021 and 2022, leading to delays in raising borrowing costs. Economists Expect Lagarde to Exit Early, Handing ECB Job to Knot Inside the ECB, Irritation Grows Over Lagarde’s Handling of Exit ECB Is Risking Independence With Lagarde Exit Maneuvers Race for ECB’s No. 2 Job to Shape Search for Lagarde Succession Rostagno’s early departure follows last month’s nomination of Croatia’s central-bank chief Boris Vujcic as next ECB vice president. That move kicked off a shake-up of the six-member Executive Board. Within the next two years, two-thirds of the members will be replaced, including President Christine Lagarde , whose term will end officially in October 2027. Despite insisting that staying on until then is her “baseline,” the ECB chief has struggled to quell speculatio...

Earnings Call Insights: Clean Energy Fuels Corp. (CLNE) Q4 2025 Management View Andrew Littlefair, Co-Founder, President, CEO & Director, announced, "Q4 marked another period of solid execution across our business with continued strength in our fueling operations and exciting progress in our upstream RNG production platform." He detailed that Clean Energy exceeded the high end of its 2025 guidance range and highlighted the completion and launch of the South Fork Dairy RNG project in Texas, now the largest operating RNG project in the company's portfolio. He further stated, "We completed construction and brought South Fork online. When it entered service, it became the largest operating RNG project in our portfolio and one of the largest RNG dairy digesters in the country." Littlefair also revealed the commencement of gas injection at the East Valley Dairy project in Idaho, the company's largest RNG project, signaling further growth. Littlefair emphasized the strategic shift to full control of South Fork's operations and pointed to the company's ongoing expansion, now operating eight projects with three more under construction. He noted, "Our overall results are expected to improve over 2025 with a range of adjusted EBITDA of $70 million to $75 million." The CEO discussed favorable regulatory developments and major customer wins, referencing the extension of Clean Energy's partnership with WM for 85 stations and new agreements with several major cities. Robert Vreeland, Chief Financial Officer, stated, "Our GAAP loss for the year of $222 million was slightly higher than expected, principally from noncash interest charges in the fourth quarter associated with our paydown of debt and the expiration of our delayed draw loan." He reported adjusted EBITDA for 2025 at $67.6 million, exceeding guidance, and discussed the impact from the expiration of the alternative fuel tax credit. Outlook Vreeland reported, "Revenues for 2026 are expected to range from $420 million to $44...

NiseriN/iStock via Getty Images A Chevron ( CVX ) takeover of West Qurna 2 could nearly double production at the giant oilfield from 400K bbl/day currently, Iraq's oil minister said Wednesday, as the company enters exclusive talks to take over operations from Russia's Lukoil. Oil Minister Hayan Abdel-Ghani told Kurdish TV that production could rise to 750K-800K bbl/day after Chevron ( CVX ) takes over operations at the field. Iraq, whose output has grown to more than 4M bbl/day in 2025 from ~2.5M bbl/day before the U.S. invasion in 2003, h as said it would attempt to raise its total oil production capacity to more than 6M bbl/day by 2029. The Chevron ( CVX ) deal is the latest in a string of agreements with global oil majors such as Exxon, BP, and Total Energies, in which the Iraqi government offered more generous terms in an effort to improve production. Richard Drury/DigitalVision via Getty Images Oaktree Specialty Lending Corporation ( OCSL ) supported its dividend with net investment income in the December quarter, and the BDC now has two consecutive quarters of NII growth under its belt. The investment firm's high non-accruals still weigh on OCSL's valuation, however: Oaktree Specialty Lending is trading at a massive 30% discount to net asset value. While the higher-than-average non-accrual ratio is a reason why OCSL is trading at such a cheap price, recent concerns in the BDC markets about software exposure have made the discount especially egregious. I believe the 'SaaSpocalypse' is widely blown out of proportion, which offers investors an opportunity to buy the BDC play at new 52-week lows. Data by YCharts Previous Rating Oaktree Specialty Lending was a hold for me in my last coverage in August 2025 -- 0.95X Coverage Is A Problem (Rating Downgrade) -- because the investment firm already reset its dividend in early 2025 amid falling net investment income and a shrinking portfolio. High non-accruals were another cause of concern at the time and still are. While asset quality is a bit of a headwind for the BDC, the SaaS-driven sell-off has gone too far, and I believe shares remain a hold here for income investors. Strong Value Proposition Despite Software Exposure, High Non-Accruals Oaktree Specialty Lending remains a senior loan-focused investment platform with 87% exposure to first liens and second liens. A core focus on highly secured investment loans is a prerequisite for the BDC to support its dividend with net investment income. Oaktree Specialty Lending The portfolio, as per the latest breakdown, shows that the BDC has about 23% exposure to software companies, which is a high percentage. Recently, BDCs have sold off broadly, mainly due to concerns that AI will replace the tech of a lot of software companies, potentially leading to loan underperformance or, worst case, asset write-downs. Oaktree Specialty ...

Sjo/iStock via Getty Images Thesis This is my first time covering The Mosaic Company ( MOS ) as an analyst on Seeking Alpha. Even so, I’m very familiar with the company , since it's based out of my home state of Florida. Seeking Alpha I especially remember the stock and sector from my trading desk during that insane 2007/8 period, when the sector had violent 20 to 30 point price swings, which led to five to six digit P/L moves, causing some premature gray hairs and a few smashed monitors and keyboards from my early-twenties peer group. At its core, Mosaic supports farmers in growing food, but it doesn’t farm itself. The company produces fertilizer. More specifically, it makes the types of fertilizers that give crops the essential nutrients needed to grow stronger plants and deliver higher yields. It’s the same basic concept as the fertilizer people spread on their lawns, just done on a much larger, global scale. Mosaic mines two main materials used to make fertilizer: phosphate and potash and operates mines in places like Florida and Canada. Their business is fairly simple. They dig up these materials and sell them to be used in fertilizer. How much money they make mostly depends on two main factors: global demand for crops and the price of fertilizer. Having gotten up to speed on the company and going over the latest earnings , I’m leaning bullish because the market appears overly focused on short-term headwinds while overlooking strengthening potash fundamentals and improving long-term positioning. The Positives in Mosaic’s 2025 Results Full-year 2025 adjusted EBITDA of $2.4 billion , up 10% year over year. Potash 2025 adjusted EBITDA of $1.183 billion, up from $944 million. Potash gross margin per tonne in Q4 of $115, up from $55. 2025 potash production of 8.8 million tonnes; ~9 million tonnes expected in 2026. Mosaic Fertilizantes 2025 adjusted EBITDA of $567 million, up 65%. Company achieved $150 million value capture in 2025; targeting $100 million more in 202...
