Spencer Platt/Getty Images News April 15th was a really great day for shareholders of American Eagle Outfitters ( AEO ). Shares of the apparel company rose 9.3% after news broke that the business had expanded its partnership with Sydney Sweeney. The original partnership that it had with her helped to boost sales for the business. So the market views this expanded arrangement as one that should theoretically help sales even more. Honestly, investors should not be surprised by this move higher, though. The company has, ever since I called it a 'buy' back in October of last year, performed exceptionally well. While the S&P 500 is up 5.9%, shares of this business have risen 31.8%. And since I originally called it a 'buy' in February of last year, the stock has risen 41%. The market, meanwhile, is up only 14.8%. This is not to say that everything is going great for the institution. There have been certain challenges, particularly on the bottom line. However, revenue is growing, and management expects a nice jump in profitability this year. Given this, and the fact that shares of the business still remain cheap on both an absolute basis and relative to other similar firms, I firmly believe that keeping it rated a 'buy' makes all the sense in the world here. This is not to say that the picture can't change as new data justifies. But honestly, quite a bit would have to go wrong in order for a downgrade to transpire. A look at American Eagle Outfitters' mixed bag Author - SEC EDGAR Data Probably the best place to start with when it comes to looking at American Eagle Outfitters would be the data provided by management covering the final quarter of the company's 2025 fiscal year . These results came out on March 4th and indicated that revenue for the business amounted to $1.76 billion during that time. That's an increase of 9.7% over the $1.60 billion that the business reported a year earlier. According to management, this rise in revenue was driven largely by an 8% jump in co...

As orchestras go, it was eclectic. Wearing plastic gold crowns, colored capes and wielding instruments that included a rubber duck, some of Canva’s top engineering staff belted out their version of Ode to Joy . Watching and encouraging in the Sydney auditorium were co-founders and married couple Melanie Perkins and Cliff Obrecht. The early April event marked the culmination of a product reboot that executives hope will safeguard the $42 billion design platform in the rapidly evolving AI era. Dubbed Canva AI 2.0, the new tools released Thursday, include a different way for its 265 million monthly users to generate visuals. Instead of starting with a templated design, customers can describe in conversational language what they want — a colorful, 12-page planning deck for a trip to Morocco, for example — and the AI agent will build and iterate it. Along with other workflow tools, the rebuild is Canva’s attempt to position the company not as a target amidst the growing angst about AI’s ability to destroy software company’s business models, but as one of the tech firms doing the disruption. “Sometimes there's the things that you have to do,” said Perkins in an interview on the AI push. “It doesn't matter how long it takes and it doesn't matter what it costs.” The success of this release is a critical test for the company, which since its launch in Perth, Australia, in 2013 has grown into a competitive rival to Photoshop maker Adobe Inc. It’s edging closer to a potential blockbuster public offering just as investors have wiped billions of dollars off the value of software firms globally amid concerns new technology like Anthropic's Claude will cannibalize their business. Those market nerves set a high bar for Canva, which has a massive price tag to defend. After hitting a $40 billion high in 2021, the company’s valuation tumbled to roughly $26 billion a year later during a broader tech selloff, driven by internal markdowns from investors. Recent secondary sales however, h...

Roku Inc. said more than 100 million households are using its streaming platform, marking another milestone as the company continues to leverage that customer base to fuel its growing advertising business. The achievement underscores the shifting viewing habits of consumers, many of whom have embraced streaming and do not subscribe to cable TV service. Roku’s streaming devices are used “by more than half of all US broadband households,” the company said in a statement Thursday, citing continued growth in Mexico, Canada, Brazil, the UK and Latin America. Aside from its own streaming hardware, Roku’s software also runs on many third-party televisions, and the company has also found success with its free, ad-supported Roku Channel service. The company vies for market share predominantly with Amazon.com Inc. ’s Fire TV OS and Alphabet Inc. ’s Google TV. Earlier this year, Amazon said it had sold more than 300 million Fire TV devices, though it’s unknown how many of those products remain in active use. Both of Roku’s rivals have adopted similar strategies, letting TV hardware partners rely on their respective software as the built-in operating system. Advertising makes up the vast majority of Roku’s business: Out of a total $4.74 billion in revenue last year, $4.15 billion of it came from what the company calls its “platform” segment. Roku last introduced new streaming hardware a year ago when it rolled out two new inexpensive streaming sticks. This week, Amazon announced its latest Fire TV Stick HD, touting the $35 product as its slimmest streamer to date. Whereas other streaming platforms have shifted toward putting their movie and TV show selections front and center, Roku presents users with a grid of entertainment apps. Still, the company has gradually added recommendations and other new sections to deepen engagement.

AGOURA HILLS, Calif., April 16, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Oncotelic Therapeutics, Inc. (OTCQB:OTLC) (“Oncotelic”, the “Company” or “We”), a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing drugs for the treatment of orphan oncology indications, as well as antisense and small molecule injectable drugs for the treatment of cancer, today announced its financial results for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2025 (“FY 2025”), as compared to the fiscal year ended December 31, 2024 (“FY 2024”). The financial results are based on the 2025 Annual Report on Form 10-K (“Form 10-K”) as filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) on April 15, 2026. The Company recorded net income after tax of approximately $249.0 million, compared to a net loss of approximately $4.8 million in the prior year. The net income was primarily driven by a non-cash increase in the estimated fair value of the Company’s investment in GMP Biotechnology Limited (“GMP Bio”), its joint venture (“JV”), of approximately $365.4 million, as determined by an independent third-party ASC-compliant valuation, partially offset by a deferred income tax provision of approximately $111.6 million.

Yuriy T/iStock Editorial via Getty Images Every industry has its marquee event where the lights are “just” a little bit brighter. For the NFL, it’s the Super Bowl; for the film industry, it’s the Oscars; and for professional wrestling, it’s WrestleMania. Yes, when putting the Super Bowl, the Oscars, and WrestleMania together in the same sentence, one thing is very much NOT like the others, but to each audience, its own. And that’s also the point… these audiences know their industry. Football fans know if the “right” two teams are playing in the NFL’s biggest game, film buffs know if the “right” movies are nominated, and wrestling fans know if they are truly getting the “right” matchups. However, the common thread across all of the above is that there is a difference between fans knowing what they want and getting what they want. In WWE’s case, following Vince McMahon leaving the fold years ago and TKO Group Holdings, Inc. ( TKO ) entering it, they have been getting increasingly vocal about their displeasure, and in an interesting twist, so are some performers. And it’s coming to a head at the worst time. First, as always, some background. WWE’s WrestleMania has long been known as the “showcase of the immortals.” It’s the pinnacle of sports entertainment and the culmination of a year’s worth of storylines. Now entering its 42 nd year, the event—airing this weekend—keeps getting bolder and grander. During COVID-19 in 2020, WWE split the event into two nights, and it has stayed that way ever since—after all, when “social distancing” subsided and live events were again LIVE, that meant double the revenue. Initially, that worked, and audiences were okay spending a little more because this was their splurge. The one event they didn’t want to miss—the payoff for all the time and interest they had invested in the programming. And then Vince McMahon left the company. I’m not going to go into the various reasons McMahon was forced to step aside, but his absence has long been ...

Australia will purchase 250,000 tons of agricultural grade urea from Indonesia to help fill gaps in its supply left by disruptions from the war in Iran. In a deal facilitated by the two governments, Incitec Pivot Fertilizers Ltd. will purchase the urea from PT Pupuk Indonesia Holding Co. , fulfilling about 20% of Australia’s remaining requirements for the upcoming winter crop, which includes major grains and oilseeds such as wheat, barley and canola. Although there’s more to do, “this additional volume will go a long way to shoring up critical supplies to Australian farmers,” Incitec’s president, Scott Bowman, said in a statement. Prices of fertilizer have doubled in parts of Australia since the outbreak of the war. About 60% of the nation’s supplies of urea normally travel through the now largely shut Strait of Hormuz. Some growers are rotating to less fertilizer-intensive crops to deal with the growing uncertainty, which will likely reduce the amount of wheat grown. Like much of Southeast Asia, Indonesia is a major importer of Australian agricultural produce, especially wheat. A Distant War Is Reshaping What Australian Farmers Plant Nations Race to Secure Enough Fertilizer and Prevent Food Crisis Iran Conflict Sparks Global Rush For Critical Fertilizers Indonesia has a surplus of 1.5 million tons of urea, which opens up an opportunity to export to countries including Australia, Indonesia’s Vice Agriculture Minister Sudaryono said in a separate statement. Other nations including India, the Philippines and Brazil have also have expressed an interest, he said.
