Chinese smartphone maker Oppo is mounting a fresh challenge in the foldable handset market after launching the latest product in its Find N series, as the industry faces rising memory prices and anticipation builds around Apple ’s foldable iPhone. Find N6, launched globally on Tuesday, featured upgraded hinge technology designed to make the crease on the foldable screen “virtually imperceptible”, according to the company. “While foldables offer the advantage of a larger display, the crease has remained one of the primary concerns for users,” said Pete Lau, senior vice-president and chief product officer at Oppo. “It’s a challenge Oppo has sought to solve ever since the original Find N.” Advertisement The handset has a thickness of just 8.93mm (0.35 inches) when folded and weighs 225 grams (7.9 ounces). It runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 mobile platform, supporting artificial intelligence capabilities and multitasking performance. Oppo’s latest push into the premium segment comes as smartphone makers grapple with surging component costs amid a memory shortage. Standard Template Labs, founded by former Datadog Inc. President Amit Agarwal , has raised $49 million in its debut financing to try to remake how information technology services operate within big businesses. The deal, which is large for a seed round, is the latest in a wave of financings for startups building AI-powered tools for services industries. The financing values the startup at about $300 million, including the investment, according to a person with knowledge of the matter. The capital will be used to help Standard Template Labs, or STLabs, build software that can automate IT management, a space that includes tasks like ticket resolution and application authorization. The company has been in stealth mode until now. Unlike some artificial intelligence startups hoping to disrupt traditional industries by buying up Main Street businesses, STLabs will try to convince large companies to switch to their tools. “There’s a category of companies that exist in this space that provide services for small businesses, like your dentist’s office,” Agarwal said. “I’m focused on companies that actually have large IT teams that manage all of this stuff in-house.” The company’s new funding round was co-led by Iconiq, where Agarwal served as a full-time general partner for a few months before starting the business, and CRV, an early-stage venture firm. A risk-averse investor can short out-of-the-money (OTM) PLTR put options as Palantir Inc. (PLTR) stock rises. For example, one-month OTM puts have a yield at 8% lower strikes. Also, buying in-the-money (ITM) calls using put income is a great play. PLTR closed up on Monday, March 17, at $152.17. It's up from a recent closing trough price of $128.84 on Feb. 24, but down from a peak of $194.17 on Dec. 24, 2025. Two weeks ago, I suggested in two Barchart articles that Palantir stock was near a bottom (Feb. 24, “Buying In-the-Money Palantir Calls Looks Attractive Here for Value Buyers” and Feb. 22, “If Palantir is Near a Bottom, What's the Best Play in PLTR Stock?”). I showed that PLTR stock is worth between $189 and $245 over the next 12 months. The options plays I discussed in these articles have done well. Short Put Plays For example, I showed that doing a cash-secured short-put play expiring March 27 was worth the investment. On Feb. 22, the $125.00 strike price put option contract was priced at $4.58, and on Feb. 24, it was at $4.80. This short put play provided 3.84% yield (i.e., $4.80/$125 = 0.0384) for an OTM distance of almost 3% below the trading price. On Monday, the midpoint price was down to 43 cents. It will expire worthless by March 27 if PLTR stays at today's price. So, this has been a successful short-sell play. It makes sense to do this again. For example, the April 17 expiry period shows that the $145.00 strike price put option has a midpoint premium of $5.55. That works out to a 3.83% yield at a 5% lower strike price put contract. For more risk-averse investors, the $140 put contract has a $4.10 midpoint premium, giving short-sellers a 2.93% yield (i.e., $4.10/$140.00). That strike price is over 8% lower, providing a good downside protection. Oppo has launched its “zero-feel crease” foldable, the Find N6, but while we knew it was unlikely to launch in the US, it’s a shame to discover that the promised “global” launch is also leaving Europe out in the cold. Instead, the Find N6 will go on sale from March 20th across what the company called its “key markets” in Asia, along with Australia and New Zealand. It’s a shame, because like the Find N5 before it, the N6 looks to be one of the best foldable phones yet. The standout feature is of course its crease, which I looked at in detail last week. Helped by a liquid 3D-printed hinge column, it’s the shallowest crease I’ve seen on any foldable phone — by quite some way — and is genuinely difficult to either see or feel. The crease isn’t quite gone entirely, but it’s close enough that it’s now unlikely to bother anyone. The Find N6 is as slim as other recent flagship foldables. The Find N6 comes in this gray-ish titanium-inspired color, or a more exciting orange version. The crease isn’t quite invisible, but it is hard to spot. The Find N6 isn’t quite the thinnest foldable yet — that’s the Honor Magic V6 — but at 8.93mm and 225 it’s more or less the same size and weight as Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7, and Honor’s phone is barely a hair’s width thinner anyway. The Magic V6 also has a larger battery, though the 6,000mAh silicon-carbon capacity of the Find N6 is not to be sniffed at, and should be plenty to make this comfortably a full-day device. The cameras look like the other area where the phone may excel. With my own accounts, I started allowing Fidelity to loan my securities for the same reason, enhancing my portfolio’s return. Along with describing what security lending is, benefits and risks, I will report on what I have experienced over the past two years since I added this option to my account management strategy. As with any investment strategy, security lending is not for every investor, nor is it a means of getting rich. Defining security lending The main reason security lending even exists is because security shorting exists. An investor can “short” a stock in two ways that I’m aware of. First is known as “shorting against the box” where the investor owns the shares and then “sells” some of their position, putting them in a neutral state. One reason this might be done is they like the security long term but not short term but don’t want to market time by selling and buying back later. The second is the investor is Bearish on the security and wants to profit on their opinion. Since the SEC frowns on selling something you cannot deliver, the investor has to “borrow” the shares from another investor; one that allows their holdings to be “borrowed,” thus the term security lending. Critics couldn't agree whether they thought the film was unimaginative and boring or revolutionary and extremely interesting. Over the years, Constantine has developed a cult following, with many people liking the film as a whole. Keanu Reeves, who stars in the movie, has even made comments about wanting to revisit the character and create a sequel. Yet the one aspect of Constantine I find the most interesting was the 2005 film's depiction of Hell. Hell was not a separate location, but another plane on the same realm as Earth. Essentially, Hell was a spiritual region of Earth that was not visible to the human eye, where souls would go. Constantine makes a brief visit to Hell in the movie, and I'm not going to give any spoilers, but it's an interesting concept to think that Hell is all around us, just not tangibly touchable. This year has been an exceptionally difficult year for investors who were interested in the AI trade. AI has gone from being an investment that has boosted returns within many portfolios to a concerning word that brings companies' values down rapidly. The idea that agentic AI can replace insurance agents, or that AI can readily destroy the moats of many companies, has caused values to compress rapidly. I've been an advocate that if you're going to buy any companies at all, they should be companies with strong positive cash flow. Blue Owl Capital ( OWL ) has been sold off heavily because of concerns around its lending, but they have been very clear that they do not provide lending or financing to companies that are cash flow negative . The stock has shown promise of a mining company pursuing well-thought-out strategic targets. In its primary market, Australia, it cashes in on the IMC acquisition. Its backlog has increased significantly as it becomes a Tier-1 mining contractor platform. In North America, it is targeting large infrastructure and civil projects. While the strategy sounds robust, implementation can stretch finances because mining contracting is capital-intensive. The company’s elevated leverage can strain its balance sheet if further capital is drained. A rise in mining for gold, iron ore, and copper will continue to spark NOA’s growth in the coming quarters. The company’s relative valuation multiples also look cheap, especially after its stock price went south by 20% over the past month. In its current outlook, I suggest maintaining it at a “Buy”, unchanged from my previous iteration . Gold, meanwhile, continues to set new records. Right now, gold is trading for more than $5,000 per ounce -- very close to its highest price ever. Enthusiasts have long argued that Bitcoin is a form of digital gold. There is a lot backing up this argument. While new gold or Bitcoin can be mined, the long-term supply of both is theoretically capped. Both are sought after mostly for their perceived value, although there are some industrial applications for gold and transactional benefits to Bitcoin. Last, unlike fiat currencies, no nation or local government can sustainably manipulate the price or supply of either asset. Of course, this valuation gap doesn't necessarily mean that Bitcoin's price will immediately rise. But the longer this gap persists, the more pressure there will be.
