mustafaU Oil prices slipped on Wednesday, easing some of Tuesday’s gains, after Iraq and Kurdish authorities reached a deal to resume exports through Turkey’s Ceyhan port, easing short-term supply concerns in the Middle East. Yet, with no signs of a de-escalation of the Iran conflict, which has left oil exports from the Middle East largely halted, Brent futures prices ( CO1:COM ) were trading above $100 per barrel for the prior four consecutive sessions. The contract was down 1.4% at the time of writing, while WTI crude ( CL1:COM ) dipped 2.7% to $93.60. Iraq's oil minister, Hayan Abdel-Ghani, said oil flows from Ceyhan were expected to start at 0700 GMT on Wednesday, according to state media. Two oil officials said last week that Iraq was seeking to pump at least 100,000 barrels per day of crude through the port, as per Reuters . Oil production from Iraq's main southern oilfields, where most of its crude is produced and exported, has reportedly plunged 70% to just 1.3 million bpd, as the Iran conflict effectively shut the vital Strait of Hormuz. "Oil flows remain largely constrained , despite hopes that Iran might allow additional tankers to move through the Strait of Hormuz to select countries. However, if Iran’s plan is to inflict pain through higher energy prices, the number of tankers it allows through the Strait of Hormuz may be very limited," ING analysts said in a note. "Confirmation of the death of Iran’s security chief, Ali Larijani, only increases uncertainty for markets. It’s unlikely to lead to de-escalation." Meanwhile, refined product market continues to trade at extremely elevated levels amid disruptions in crude oil and refined products. Asia is more exposed to naphtha flows in refined products, which helps explain why the naphtha crack in the region has moved from its usual discount to a premium. Ethylene margins are also deeply negative due to the recent rise in feedstock prices. This should prompt crackers to reduce operating rates, ING an...

Advanced composites company Hexcel (HXL 1.01%) and contract logistics company GXO Logistics (GXO +1.46%) are vastly different companies, but they share a few commonalities that make them compelling buys for long-term investors. They both have excellent long-term growth drivers, trade at highly attractive valuations, and are on the cusp of a significant cyclical growth pick after a period of weak end markets. Here's why both are excellent additions to a diversified investor's portfolio. A few words of warning Given recent events, it would be remiss not to note that the key drivers of these stocks, a massive ramp-up in aircraft production (Hexcel) and a long-overdue cyclical recovery in the manufacturing sector (GXO), are at risk from a protracted conflict in the Middle East that leads to supply chain and inflationary issues. That said, both have sold off recently, and the headline risk I write off applies across most stocks. As such, these stocks are great buys for investors relatively sanguine about the conflict and looking to buy on the dip it's created. Hexcel is the future of the aerospace industry Boeing and Airbus have multiyear backlogs and are both aggressively ramping up production after facing supply chain issues and material shortages in recent years. That's great news for Hexel, which provides advanced lightweight composites to both companies and their subcontractors. Hexcel's materials offer weight and strength advantages over traditional metals, resulting in reduced fuel costs, emissions, and life cycle costs. As such, Hexcel is a play on increased aircraft production over the next decade. In addition, each generation of new aircraft tends to have more lightweight composites on board, so in theory, Hexcel could grow earnings even if aircraft unit production growth is zero. An example of the underlying growth is the comparison between the older Boeing 777 (10% of weight in composites) and the newer Boeing 777X (30%). A Boeing 777X can generate up to $2 m...

(RTTNews) - French biotech company Valneva SE (VALN, VLA.PA, VLA.VI) reported Wednesday wider net loss in fiscal 2025, mainly on the absence of prior year's gain and lower product sales. Looking ahead, the company said it expects 2026 to be a potentially transformational year with Phase 3 Lyme disease data expected in the first half of the year. For 2026, total revenues are expected to range between 155 million euros and 170 million euros, including product sales between 145 million euros to 160 million euros. The lower product sales guidance in 2026 versus the prior year reflects continued growth of established commercial brands, offset by the planned wind-down of thirdparty sales, as previously guided. In fiscal 2025, net loss amounted to 115.19 million euros, compared to a net loss of 12.25 million euros in 2024. Loss per share was 0.68 euro, compared to loss of 0.08 euro last year. The prior year's result was benefited from a 90.8 million euros net gain related to the sale of the Priority Review Voucher or PRV received for IXCHIQ. Operating loss was 82.06 million euros, compared to prior year's profit of 13.33 million euros. Adjusted EBITDA was negative 59.4 million euros, compared to positive 32.9 million euros last year. Total revenues grew to 174.66 million euros from 169.58 million euros last year. Product sales declined to 157.91 million euros from last year's 163.25 million euros in 2024, reflecting the planned wind-down of third-party sales. Proprietary product sales increased by 9 percent at constant exchange rate. For more earnings news, earnings calendar, and earnings for stocks, visit rttnews.com. Carlos Barria | Reuters Chinese artificial intelligence stocks surged Wednesday following upbeat comments from Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang on the promise of AI agents and OpenClaw. Huang on Tuesday said that OpenClaw was "definitely the next ChatGPT," calling it a transformative step in expanding what users can achieve with AI. OpenClaw is an open-source AI agent that has seen growing adoption in China, with many local tech companies integrating it into their offerings and launching their own versions. MiniMax and Knowledge Atlas Technology , also known as Zhipu, skyrocketed 22% and 14% in Hong Kong, respectively. Both AI companies have been ramping up their agentic AI offerings and recently rolled out tools built on OpenClaw. Minimax and Zhipu are among China's rising "AI tigers," a group of companies building large language models to rival the likes of OpenAI and Anthropic. Zhipu last month also unveiled GLM-5 , an open-source large language model designed with stronger coding abilities and support for extended agent-based tasks. The company said its performance nears Anthropic's Claude Opus 4.5 on coding benchmarks and exceeds Google's Gemini 3 Pro in some tests, though CNBC has not independently verified these claims. SenseTime, which has pivoted from facial recognition surveillance to AI software platforms and recently integrated one of its AI assistants with OpenClaw, saw shares gain 2.43%. Cloud computing firm UCloud Technology listed in Shanghai advanced 13%. "China's rapid uptake of artificial intelligence reinforces its position as one of the world's leading AI markets," Moody's said in a recent note. However, adoption remains uneven across sectors, reflecting differences in digital readiness and creating varied credit implications. Large technology firms are driving the most a...

Celtic goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel may have played his "last football game" with surgery required on his shoulder but he is eager to "fight" to regain fitness. The Denmark international, 39, last played on 22 February and will have the first of two operations later this month. He will miss his country's World Cup play-off semi-final against North Macedonia on 26 March. The former Leicester City keeper is out of contract at the end of the season and faces up to a year of recovery. "I could've potentially played my last football game," Schmeichel told CBS Sports Golazo. "I've been a footballer since the day I was born. It's devastating. It's very, very hard to wrap my head around at the moment. "I got the message [on Tuesday] that it could potentially be the end of my career. By the time I could get back fit I could be plus 40. "I'm going to give it everything I can to see if I can get back. It would be probably one of the greatest feats of my career if I could ever get back from an injury like this. I'm going to fight, I'm going to try everything I can. I'm going to do the rehab."
