Artificial intelligence (AI) stocks led by the megacap tech and "Magnificent Seven" names powered the market higher in 2025. As companies ramp up their AI development budgets and spend tens of billions of dollars trying to position themselves as leaders in the race, funds focused on this sector remain the ETFs to consider buying in 2026 as well. In many cases, buying the theme instead of trying to ID individual winners is the better play. Many investors have been focusing almost entirely on companies like Nvidia and Microsoft throughout the current rally. It's only the very early stages of 2026, but market gains already appear to be broadening out. That means the next generation of potential winners, many of which reside in these ETFs, may soon have their moment. With the AI market expected to grow to $2.4 trillion by 2032, the boom is still in its early innings. Here are three ETFs could easily double from here. Continue reading

OpenAI has hired three staffers from Thinking Machines Lab , the artificial intelligence startup led by former OpenAI Chief Technology Officer Mira Murati . The new hires are Barret Zoph , Luke Metz and Sam Schoenholz, OpenAI executive Fidji Simo said in a post on X. “This has been in the works for several weeks, and we’re thrilled to have them join the team,” she wrote. In her own post on X, Murati said the company parted ways with Zoph and that Soumith Chintala will be the startup’s new CTO. Zoph, who will report directly to Simo at OpenAI, was the chief technology officer at Thinking Machines and part of its founding team, along with Schoenholz and Metz. All three men previously worked at OpenAI. Simo addressed the hiring in a memo to OpenAI staff on Wednesday, reviewed by Bloomberg. “Just to clear the air — Barret told Mira on Monday he was considering leaving and she fired him today,” Simo wrote in the memo. “You may have seen information from sources that Barret was fired from Thinking Machines for ‘unethical reasons.’ We do not share these concerns.” Zoph didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment. Thinking Machines has been a closely watched AI startup since Murati left OpenAI, after having been involved in the dramatic but short-lived ouster of its Chief Executive officer Sam Altman . Bloomberg reported in November that her company, though very young, was in talks to raise funding at a roughly $50 billion valuation, making it one of the most valuable early AI startups.
