Flashpop/DigitalVision via Getty Images Financial markets can seem overwhelming. There are thousands of stocks and many things to consider, which makes investing feel complex. But Warren Buffett has shown it can be much simpler: buy great businesses, hold them for the long term, and let compounding work for you. The hard part is finding great businesses. Pool Corporation ( POOL ) might be one of those great ones. It generates a 35% return on equity, has grown revenue at an average rate of about 8% over the past decade, and has expanded operating margins by roughly 100 basis points over this period despite an industry downturn. It also strikes me as a really well-managed business, and the co-founder is still overseeing day-to-day operations. The trading environment has been tough most recently, and Pool is down 38% over the past year, now trading at a forward PE multiple of 18.2X, below the market average of 20.5X . This could be an attractive entry point. Data by YCharts Customer value creation is the secret sauce Pool makes money by helping their customers make more money. While there are plenty of equipment and chemical suppliers, none of them have the breadth of products and the value-added services offered. This is a major differentiator for the business. The less time a contractor spends chasing after materials and planning their routes, the more time they can spend working and earning. Those extra services offered enable Pool to charge premium prices for products, maintaining strong profitability and returns on capital. The U.S. residential swimming pool market TAM is $12 billion, about $8.4 billion of which is served through the wholesale distribution channel. With about $4.5 of U.S. distribution sales, Pool makes up a bit more than half of the overall market. The Home Depot, Inc. ( HD )-owned Heritage is the only national competitor in the wholesale distribution market, but Pool has more than twice as many sales centres. US pool market size (Pool investor ma...

Nurphoto | Nurphoto | Getty Images The first wave of generic versions of Novo Nordisk's GLP-1 weight-loss drugs launched in India over the weekend, with at least five domestic drugmakers undercutting the original price by up to 80%. It comes as the Danish drugmaker's patent expired on Friday, with the company fighting to maintain its lead in the lucrative market. India is a critical market, with around 100 million people living with diabetes and nearly a quarter classified as obese . The country is also known as "the world's pharmacy" with its well-developed generic drugs industry supplying around 20% of global off‑patent medicines. Sun Pharmaceutical , one of the top generics manufacturers in the world, on Saturday launched a generic semaglutide for as low as 750 rupees ($8) for a weekly injection, or about 3,400 rupees per month. That compares with Novo's retail price of between 8,800 and 10,000 rupees in India, depending on the dosage . Meanwhile, export-focused Dr. Reddy's Laboratories has so far launched semaglutide for treating diabetes at around 4,200 rupees per month and plans to expand to Canada, Turkey and Brazil this year. The company's goal is to democratize access to GLP-1 drugs worldwide, said Deepak Sapra, CEO of Pharmaceutical Services and API at Dr. Reddy's, at a virtual launch event on Saturday. It's targeting annual sales of 12 million semaglutide pens in the first year of launch across all markets, including India. "This is something that Indian generic players have been preparing for a very long time," Salil Kallianpur, an independent pharma consultant based in India, told CNBC. More than 50 brands are expected to launch generic versions of semaglutide in the coming months. That's a small number by Indian standards, bec...

Finnair Oyj will buy a mix of new Embraer SA aircraft and used Airbus SE planes as part of a push to renew its narrow-body fleet for European and regional flights. The Finnish flag carrier said Monday it had signed an agreement with Embraer to order 18 E195-E2 aircraft and had secured an additional 16 options and 12 purchase rights. Finnair also plans to source as many as 12 used Airbus A320/321ceos. While the company didn’t attach a cost to the orders, it previously announced plans to spend €2.5 billion ($2.9 billion) in such investments through 2029. Read More: Finnair Plans to Invest $2.9 Billion to Revamp Short-Haul Fleet “A mix of larger and smaller narrow-bodies allows us to tap into the growth opportunities in our markets in a flexible and efficient manner,” Chief Executive Officer Turkka Kuusisto said. The airline began preparing to renew its short-haul fleet in 2019, but put those plans on hold as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. That pause continued in the wake of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, which closed airspace across Siberia and cost Finnair its main competitive advantage — the ability to offer the shortest connection for transit passengers between Europe and Asia. A new war unfolding in the Middle East has become the latest challenge to hit the global aviation industry. Finnair canceled flights to Dubai through March 29 and to Doha through July 2. On Monday, Finnair slid as much as 6.6%, the most in almost three weeks, in line with its industry peers and equity markets across Europe. The Embraer aircraft will be utilized for regional flights operated by Finnair’s partner, Norra. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in the third quarter of next year and finish in 2029. Finnair said it selected the Embraer planes due to their fuel efficiency, which is 30% better per seat than the previous generation of E190-E1 aircraft. The planes are also quieter, it said. The carrier said it has also signed agreements with RTX Corp.’s Pratt & Whitne...

Seven stolen village dogs in northeastern China captured the hearts of millions online after breaking free from thieves working for a dog meat shop and embarking on a journey home together, igniting calls for stronger animal protection laws. On March 16, a netizen surnamed Lu recorded a video of seven dogs walking along a busy highway in Changchun, Jilin province. In the footage, a group of dogs carefully surrounded an injured German shepherd, while a Corgi at the front repeatedly looked back to ensure none were left behind. Advertisement The group also included Golden Retrievers, Labradors and Pekinese dogs. Lu told mainland media outlet Dahe Daily: “They resemble a band of little brothers in distress, moving in unison – nothing like stray dogs.” They resemble a group of little brothers in distress, moving together in unison—entirely unlike stray dogs. SolarEdge Technologies (SEDG) shares soared 13.3% in the last trading session to close at $51.73. The move was backed by solid volume with far more shares changing hands than in a normal session. This compares to the stock's 30.6% gain over the past four weeks. SolarEdge Technologies benefits from its optimized inverter solutions that address a broad range of solar market segments, from residential solar installations to commercial and small utility-scale solar installations. SolarEdge Technologies has launched its Nexis residential solar and storage system in Germany, featuring an ultra-efficient inverter of up to 20 kW and a scalable battery solution that can expand up to 78.4 kWh. The system is designed to significantly reduce installation and commissioning time for installers, while offering homeowners a flexible and accessible entry into energy storage with the ability to scale capacity as their energy needs grow. This photovoltaic products maker is expected to post quarterly loss of $0.24 per share in its upcoming report, which represents a year-over-year change of +79%. Revenues are expected to be $303.61 million, up 38.3% from the year-ago quarter. While earnings and revenue growth expectations are important in evaluating the potential strength in a stock, empirical research shows a strong correlation between trends in earnings estimate revisions and near-term stock price movements. For SolarEdge, the consensus EPS estimate for the quarter has been revised 6.5% higher over the last 30 days to the current level. And a positive trend in earnings estimate revision usually translates into price appreciation. So, make sure to keep an eye on SEDG going forward to see if this recent jump can turn into more strength down the road. The stock currently carries a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold). cherdchai chawienghong/iStock via Getty Images Enghouse Systems Limited ( EGHSF ) is an enterprise applications software company. You can consider EGHSF to be a Canadian stock that centers around rolling up smaller enterprise software companies into its portfolio. EGHSF is also reinforcing its Asset Management Group (AMG) with revenue growth from its previous acquisitions of Margento and Trafi. These deals expanded EGHSF's transportation and mobility offerings. And its Interactive Management Group Segment (IMG) is now reframing itself towards a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model that will leverage AI capabilities with Aculab. EGHSF is overall an exceedingly cheap and profitable stock in this sector, which is why I ultimately upgrade the stock to a "Buy" at these levels. Rolling Up Enterprise Software Companies Enghouse Systems Limited (EGHSF) is a software company that develops systems for vertical applications. Concretely, EGHSF's software solutions target communications, customer interaction, transportation, public safety, utilities, media, and governments. EGHSF was founded in 1984 and is headquartered in Markham, Ontario, Canada. I previously covered EGHSF last November, and since then, the stock has declined another 21.3%. Still, their 2025 revenues were mostly flat YoY, and they had another profitable year. Their balance sheet also seems robust, and they have no external debt. But, despite this, the stock has been an underperformer, which is why I felt it was worthwhile reviewing its recent results. Source: Enghouse Corporate Presentation. December 2025. As a quick recap, EGHSF presents two main business segments. The first is their Interactive Management Group, which includes the Omni-Channel Contact Center.
