SmileStudioAP/iStock via Getty Images Commentary as of 12/31/25 The fund posted returns of 5.43% (Institutional shares) and 5.35% (Investor A shares, without sales charge) for the fourth quarter of 2025. The fund's outperformance of its benchmark was driven by sentiment-related insights, which captured favorable market positioning. Fundamental valuation and macro-related measures contributed to returns. In particular, sentiment indicators related to market positioning and investor flows proved effective. Fundamental valuation signals added to performance by identifying attractively priced names, while macroeconomic industry insights were also beneficial. From a sector-positioning perspective, the fund remained largely neutral. However, there were slight overweight positions in the information technology (IT) and consumer discretionary sectors, and slight underweight holdings in the utilities and energy sectors. Contributors Sentiment was the strongest contributor. Notably, insights looking at short-selling activity from informed market participants were helpful through an overweight allocation to the consumer staples sector and an underweight exposure to the health care sector. These were supported by renewed retail investor enthusiasm and expectations of lower interest rates. Fundamental valuation signals focused on operating income drove successful stock selection in the industrials sector, which benefited from broader economic growth and fiscal policy shifts. Macro industry timing insights also added value. Detractors A few signals detracted modestly during the quarter. A macro signal that bets against short interest levels performed weakly in the IT sector by motivating an unsuccessful overweight exposure during a more defensive market rotation. Additionally, a quality-oriented signal predicting sales growth struggled in the communication services sector. Macro insights looking at historical patterns fell short amid rapid market shifts tied to fiscal policy and ...

Rost-9D/iStock via Getty Images L3Harris Technologies ( LHX ) was awarded a contract by the U.S. Defense Innovation Unit to deliver a system that enables submarines to deploy and recover autonomous underwater vehicles through standard torpedo tubes. Torpedo Tube Launch and Recovery system (L3Harris) The agreement covers the company’s Torpedo Tube Launch and Recovery system, which is designed to operate with its Iver4 900 autonomous underwater vehicles, according to an announcement Wednesday. The system has been tested by U.S. and allied naval forces for missions including intelligence collection, surveillance, reconnaissance, mine detection and seabed operations. A key feature is the ability to conduct these missions without requiring submarines to surface, reducing operational exposure. It’s intended to expand the capabilities of existing submarine fleets by allowing them to deploy unmanned systems without structural modifications. It also incorporates lithium-ion battery technology approved for both submarine and aviation use, supporting longer mission durations and enabling battery swaps to maintain continuous operations. L3Harris ( LHX ) said the system is designed to work across multiple submarine classes and with allied platforms, aligning with broader efforts to integrate manned and unmanned systems in naval operations. The company also noted its relevance to cooperation initiatives among Australian, United Kingdom and United States partners focused on advanced defense technologies. Klaus Vedfelt/DigitalVision via Getty Images Overview Liquidia's stock ( LQDA ) is up a solid 16% since my " Sell " rating to begin the year. Its commercialization of Yutrepia (treprostinil powder) has gone quite well. My last analysis followed Yutrepia's first full quarter on the market. It generated $51.7M in net product sales. I warned that some of it was related to inventory and Liquidia's 28-day voucher program (which provided the drug free of cost), rather than a "clean standalone proxy for durable paid patient demand." I was also still concerned about pending litigation outcomes that could see the removal of Yutrepia from the market altogether. Although Yutrepia's recent market performance is indicative of real-world uptake, meriting short-term optimism, there have been two external events that also make me increasingly cautious about Liquidia's long-term prospects. Recent Developments In Q4 , Yutrepia generated $90.1M. Liquidia made $14.56M in net income, or $0.15 per common (diluted) share. This was their "second consecutive quarter of profitability." Liquidia revealed that 75% of Yutrepia starts are naive to prostacyclines. Right now, it's a 50/50 PAH and PH-ILD split, which is a bit unusual because the latter is a much larger market. It could be that the PH-ILD "white space" is harder to penetrate. There's one big problem that management is keenly aware of: both markets are shifting toward convenience. Products like United Therapeutics' ( UTHR ) Tyvaso DPI and Yutrepia, although improved from past "nebulizer solutions," still require four times a day dosing. Liquidia's solution to this problem is L606, which is practically "twice-daily Yutrepia." The problem with Liquidia's "solution" is that L606's gains on convenience appear incremental compared to its competitors. Soft Mist Inhaler (SMI) In February, United (Liquidia's main competitor in PH-ILD and PAH) unveiled its soft mist inhaler formulation of treprostinil. It aims to reduce coughs associated with...

Here’s what to know about how the current crisis could shape the expansion of renewable energy As the deadly war in Iran triggers what the International Energy Agency has described as the worst oil crisis in history, climate advocates are calling for a faster shift away from fossil fuels, but the conflict may also hamper that transition. US-Israeli strikes on Iran have disrupted supply routes through the strait of Hormuz, through which 20% of global oil flows. The US, Israel and Iran have also all launched strikes on fossil fuel facilities, creating additional market shocks. Continue reading...

Seeking a suitor: JetBlue ( JBLU ) flies high on a report that it's evaluating plans to sell itself to a rival airline. Energy crisis: Iran drafts a bill to charge Strait of Hormuz transit fees as the White House explores implications of $200 oil . How to fix it? Major funding challenges to social security are on the horizon, with the Senate Budget Committee holding a fresh hearing on the matter. Current estimates from the Social Security Administration and Congressional Budget Office suggest that there are only six more years before funds will face solvency problems and all payments would have to be reduced by a quarter. Structural challenges span from changing demographics like falling birth rates and a smaller-than-expected workforce, as well as longer life expectancies and people taking early retirement. Quote: "The prediction back in 1983, when we passed the last big set of reforms, was that we were going to have 75 years of solvency because it was designed to create premiums on 90% of collective earnings," added Senator Jeff Merkley (D-OR), Budget Committee Ranking Member. "But as wealth has moved to the richest people in America, we no longer collect premiums on 90%, so it's a major factor in why we're running out of the trust fund 20 years earlier than predicted." Being pitched were several revenue provisions like taxing investment income, which could target the wealthy who don't get their income from wages. Other ideas include raising the overall tax rate or raising the cap on the maximum taxable income. The latter currently stands at $184,500, meaning any income made over that level does not deduct social security taxes from those revenues. Ther...

Maksymowicz/iStock via Getty Images Investment Thesis Blue Bird Corporation ( BLBD ) is expected to witness revenue growth, supported by the price hike and backlog conversion. Moreover, with strong orders in the first quarter, I believe the company is well-positioned to capitalize on the seasonally solid second half of FY2026. On the profitability front, the adjusted EBITDA margin should be near flat due to higher input costs. However, the pricing actions should be accretive to the overall margin. When comparing with the peer median P/E ratio, the company is trading at a discount of ~26%. Conclusively, I recommend a Buy rating on the stock. Business Overview Blue Bird is a manufacturer and innovator of school buses that was founded in 1927. School buses are an affordable commute for approximately 25 million children. The company operates through two segments: the Bus segment and the Parts segment. BLBD continues to expand and enhance the Alternative Power products, including propane, gasoline, and EV buses. These alternative powertrains provide the low- and zero-emission benefits when compared to diesel engines. Revenue Analysis & Outlook In the first quarter of FY2026, the company reported $333 million in net sales, an increase of 6% year-over-year. The improvement was driven by higher bus customers, a favourable product mix, and price increases. However, a slight decrease in sales of parts negatively impacts the overall sales of the company. Moreover, the company delivered around 121 electric-powered buses, focusing on the expansion of alternative-powered school buses. In FY2026, the net sales of the company should be up in the low-single digits in a year-over-year comparison. The management estimates the net sales to be between $1.45 billion and $1.55 billion, with an average sales volume of 9500 units. In the first quarter of FY26, the company generated 2,135 units in sales volume, slightly up from the prior year. This positions the company well going forward in...
