Spencer Platt Robinhood Markets ( HOOD ), the upstart stock-trading app, is seeking a prime role in SpaceX's ( SPACE ) long-awaited initial public offering, according to a media report on Wednesday. The company, known for gamifying stock trading, is vying with several Wall Street banks to grab a chunk of SpaceX stock to sell directly to its retail investors, Bloomberg News reported, citing people familiar with the matter. If successful, the company is expected to sell the shares through its IPO Access platform, which gives users the opportunity to buy stock at the IPO price before they trade in the open market, the article said. That jibes with talk that SpaceX ( SPACE ) is considering setting aside a significant portion of shares for retail investors, as people have told Bloomberg. Robinhood ( HOOD ) stock rose 0.8% in Wednesday after-hours trading. Elon Musk's rocket and satellite company is seeking to raise more than $30B in an offering that would value the company at ~$1.5T, Bloomberg had reported. The company may aim for a June listing, some of the people said, which is around Musk's birthday. It may seek proceeds of as much as $50B, which would make it the biggest IPO ever. Bank of America ( BAC ), Goldman Sachs Group ( GS ), JPMorgan Chase ( JPM ), and Morgan Stanley ( MS ) are expected to get senior roles in the IPO. World Network, formerly Worldcoin, focuses on proving that a user is a real and unique human without relying on traditional identity documents. Its system uses a device known as the Orb to scan a person’s iris and generate a cryptographic proof called World ID. The project says it does not store raw biometric images, instead converting them into privacy-preserving identifiers used to prevent duplicate identities. RAMP—the predominantly Russian-language online bazaar that billed itself as the “only place ransomware allowed”—had its dark web and clear web sites seized by the FBI as the agency tries to combat the growing scourge threatening critical infrastructure and organizations around the world. Visits to both sites on Wednesday returned pages that said the FBI had taken control of the RAMP domains, which mirrored each other. RAMP has been among the dwindling number of online crime forums to operate with impunity, following the takedown of other forums such as XSS, which saw its leader arrested last year by Europol. The vacuum left RAMP as one of the leading places for people pushing ransomware and other online threats to buy, sell, or trade products and services. I regret to inform you “The Federal Bureau of Investigation has seized RAMP,” a banner carrying the seals of the FBI and the Justice Department said. “This action has been taken in coordination with the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida and the Computer Crime and Intellectual Property Section of the Department of Justice.” The banner included a graphic that appeared on the RAMP site, before it was seized, that billed itself as the “only place ransomware allowed.” Read full article Comments

The onus was on Chelsea to silence the jibes about their lack of experience. Behind to a goal from Rasmus Højlund at half-time, they were facing the inconvenience of a two-legged playoff to reach the last 16 of the Champions League. Another lead had been thrown away and the momentum was with Napoli after they cancelled out a penalty from Enzo Fernández at a bouncing Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. Yet the night ended with a humiliating early exit for Napoli and another failure for Antonio Conte in Europe. The former Chelsea manager watched in despair as Cole Palmer came on to undo his depleted side with a devastating cameo. Palmer set up João Pedro for two outstanding goals as Liam Rosenior’s Chelsea finished in the top eight thanks to their first away win at this level in over three years. Rosenior sought to neutralise Napoli by matching Conte’s 3-4-2-1 system. Malo Gusto and Pedro Neto lined up as wing-backs, Reece James and Marc Cucurella joined Wesley Fofana at the back and there were opportunities for the young Brazilians, Estêvão Willian and Andrey Santos, to build on bright displays against Crystal Palace. The question was whether Rosenior would be accused of overthinking his lineup. He had four centre-backs in reserve and there were times when Chelsea looked far from secure at the back. There was space for Napoli on the flanks and, while their injury problems meant Conte was only able to name five outfield players on the bench, they had little trouble creating chances. Chelsea soon found themselves under pressure. They almost conceded when Robert Sánchez dithered on the ball in the seventh minute and Scott McTominay charged down the goalkeeper’s clearance. Yet there were gaps at the other end. Chelsea led when Fernández, on spot-kick duties with Cole Palmer not fit enough to start, dispatched a nerveless penalty after Clément Turpin, the French referee, spotted the left arm of Juan Jesus blocking a free-kick from James in the 19th minute. There was momentary ...

Telsa’s revenue and profits tumbled in the fourth quarter, capping off the most difficult year for the electric automaker since it became profitable six years ago. Tesla said Wednesday that its adjusted income fell 16% during the last three months of 2025. Its net income tumbled further, plunging 61% in the quarter and 46% for the year, or a $3.3 billion decline. The drop didn’t come as a surprise – the company posted its biggest year-over-year sales volume drop ever in the fourth quarter. Tesla’s earning have fallen in nine of the last ten quarters. As of 2025, the company’s annual income is only 30% of the $12.6 billion it was in 2022, its peak earnings year. The financial problems are a big about-face for what was once the fastest growing and most profitable automaker in the world, one that helped bring electric vehicles to the mass market. But as its EV sales decline, CEO Elon Musk and his fans on Wall Street have focused more on his ambitious plans for self-driving “robotaxis” and humanoid robots that have yet to live up to promises. Tesla’s global EV sales in the quarter fell despite rising worldwide. The brand’s reputation took a hit last year among some American and European buyers – backlash to Musk’s political activities. And all US EV sales dropped off later in the year following the elimination of a $7,500 US tax credit for EV buyers. Tesla also faces increased competition from other automakers, particularly in China, Tesla’s second largest market behind the United States. In fact, Tesla in 2025 lost its title of world’s largest electric vehicle maker to Chinese automaker BYD. None of those problems is reflected in the share price. Since Musk stepped back from the Trump administration and returned to Tesla fulltime in the spring, he’s focused his energy on robotaxis and humanoid robots. Musk announced on his Wednesday call with investors that the company would end production next quarter of two of its most expensive models, the Model S and Model X. He sa...

"How Silly It Would Be": Columbia Student Explains Why She Did Not Report Her Own Gang-Rape To Protect Attackers Authored by Jonathan Turley, Columbia PhD candidate, Anna Krauthamer, has caused a stir over her column in the far-left Nation on “Why I Didn’t Report My Rape.” The reason? Krauthamer is a prison abolitionist and wanted to protect her rapists, saying it would be “silly and strange” for her to subject these rapists to the carceral state. Instead, she allegedly allowed multiple rapists to potentially rape other women. In her column, Krauthamer alleged that she was gang raped in a Las Vegas hotel room for several hours . She explained that she “never did anything about it” and “the simple answer to the question of why I never reported the rape is that I believe in the abolition of police and prisons.” She added: “The prospect of being a participant in other people’s incarceration is as alien to me as anything could be, to the point that I can only conceive of it in childish terms – how silly and strange it would be to have a group of people incarcerated at my expense when doing so would do nothing to fix the damage they have already so thoroughly done.” Rather than having concerns about future victims, Krauthamer said that these rapists would be the victims of a carceral state: “I don’t want to ruin the lives of my rapists, and I don’t know if they have children. The only thing I want is for them to have never done what they did to me – and nothing, including sending them to prison, will ever change that reality.” Whether you call it virtuous or virtue-signaling, the suggestion is that rapists would never be sent to prison for their crimes in a nation without prisons. This is a PhD candidate at a leading university. She is not alone. Some faculty members have espoused the same anarchist position. In places like Columbia, this absurdist position is considered intellectually valuable while the faculty has largely purged any conservatives and libertarians from ...

Liverpool are having to stomach “a very bad cocktail” of cheap goals against and wasted chances in the Premier League, according to Arne Slot. To extend the mixologist’s analogy, his team are enjoying life with a few margaritas in the Champions League. Slot’s team cruised into the last 16 for the second successive season with a demolition of Qarabag at Anfield. Mohamed Salah was among the goalscorers for the first time since accusing Liverpool of throwing him under the bus in December, while Alexis Mac Allister, Florian Wirtz, the influential Hugo Ekitiké and Federico Chiesa were also on the scoresheet. A rout and a clean sheet were just what Slot craved following defeat at Bournemouth on Saturday. Avoiding next month’s two-legged playoff will be an added bonus given his mounting injury problems. Six wins out of eight in the Champions League group, including against both Madrid clubs and Inter Milan, serve as a reminder of the pedigree that Liverpool possess but have not shown consistently on the domestic front. The champions of Azerbaijan started the final round in 18th place, above the likes of Marseille, Leverkusen, Napoli and Benfica, and with hopes of continuing their rise in European football by qualifying for the playoffs. Getting there via a positive result at Anfield proved too much of an ask, however, with Liverpool’s Champions League form providing a stark contrast to their Premier League woes once again. Slot’s night did not get off to the most encouraging start. Already shorn of defensive options and needing Ryan Gravenberch to deputise for Ibrahima Konaté in central defence, Liverpool lost Jeremie Frimpong to injury in only the second minute. Frimpong pulled up while pursuing a Qarabag clearance down his right flank. Credit to visiting captain Abdellah Zoubir for putting the ball out of play immediately for the full-back to receive treatment. Frimpong has previously suffered two hamstring injuries during his debut season at Anfield and, while the natur...

On a chilly, fun, boisterous night in Paris, with the Champions League mega-table scrolling away in the background throughout a breathless 90 minutes, Newcastle produced a fine away performance at the home of the European champions. A 1-1 draw means Eddie Howe’s team will now enter the knockout phase in February, as had always seemed likely. Paris Saint-Germain will now join them there after some late score-ticker malarkey sent the reigning champions into the playoffs. Howe will take huge heart from this performance, as a weakened team recovered from a start that suggested the ceiling might be about to fall in. As for PSG, the rest of Europe will look at this team with a little less fear of the furious full-court press that marked last season’s post-Christmas run. Newcastle were compact, powerful in the challenge, and really could have won this game in the second half. Paris had been a lovely deep languid grey all afternoon, the only city that looks better in drab, sad January light. By kick-off the Parc des Princes was the usual inferno of choreographed noise. And this was a confusingly murky final group phase game, neither fully alive nor fully dead. Both teams could go straight through or half-through. A draw could take both fully through, depending on a vast number of results elsewhere. There are so many referred problems when you mess with the robustness of a format. Once again the rejigged version had been a meander towards a wildly convoluted final night. Straight-line jeopardy is too much to expect, but it should at least be possible to understand what’s going on before the whole thing suddenly falls on your head in the final wash-up like the contents of an over-stuffed cupboard. Here Howe made five changes from Sunday’s defeat by Aston Villa, the net effect of which was a switch to a back three. Dan Burn started for the first time this month. Joe Willock got a run in midfield against the best team in Europe, and would end up making a fair go of it. PSG swar...

Earnings Call Insights: First Commonwealth Financial Corporation (FCF) Q4 2025 Management View Thomas Michael Price, President and CEO, reported "core EPS of $0.43 per share, which beat consensus earnings estimates alongside a net interest margin that expanded to 3.98%, a core ROA of 1.45% and a core efficiency ratio of 52.8%." He highlighted average deposit and total loan growth of 2.8% and 1.2%, respectively, during the quarter, with net interest income rising due to healthy new commercial loan volume at favorable rates. Price noted a decrease in deposit costs to 1.83% and fee income remaining flat with gains in SBA offset by declines in wealth and mortgage. He emphasized a "concerted effort and long-term focus on growing fee income through our regional banking model." The year saw core EPS of $1.53 and net interest income of $427.5 million, described by Price as benefiting from higher-for-longer interest rates, improved loan yields, lower deposit costs, and a better commercial business mix. Loan growth for the year was 8.2% annualized and 5% excluding the Center Bank acquisition. Average deposit growth of 6.1% kept pace with loan growth, driven by money market, CDs, and noninterest-bearing DDA. Price announced the retirement of Jane Grebenc, Bank President and Chief Revenue Officer, at the end of March, acknowledging her "pivotal role in the strategic transformations that have helped position First Commonwealth as a top quartile performer." James Reske, CFO, stated, "Core operating results for the fourth quarter of 2025 continued the momentum of the third quarter. Core ROA improved 11 basis points to 1.45% and core ROTCE improved 93 basis points to 15.83%. Spread income increased $2.1 million from the previous quarter, primarily due to a 6 basis point increase in the net interest margin." Reske noted the designation of a $225 million commercial loan portfolio as held for sale, representing a strategic exit from the Philadelphia MSA, with potential reinvestment in...
