And anything that makes this economy move is of interest to me. It's also a sector that, even though it's prone to disruption, will only continue to grow from here on out. Or at least it will, absent some major change in technology or demographics. One company in this space that is worth knowing about is Cooper-Standard Holdings Inc. ( CPS ). But there is a difference between worth knowing about it and it being an attractive prospect. In some ways, the company is appealing. For instance, shares are trading on the cheap. On the other hand, financial performance has been volatile, and sales as of late have been declining. When you add on top of this the fact that economic conditions are worsening, and that automotive sales are likely to be lower this year than they were last year, I believe that the most generous rating that I can assign the company is a "Hold." Taking Cooper-Standard Holdings For A Drive The management team at Cooper-Standard Holdings describes the company as a producer of sealing and fluid handling systems. Examples here include fuel and brake delivery systems and fluid transfer systems. These products are mostly used in passenger vehicles and light trucks. Overwhelmingly, the company caters to the OEM space, with 86% of its revenue in 2024 coming from players there such as Ford Motor Company ( F ), General Motors ( GM ), and others.
