Ronaldo Schmidt/AFP via Getty Images The partial shutdown has been ongoing since March 15, when funding for the agency lapsed without additional funding in place. Lauren Bis, acting assistant secretary for Public Affairs at DHS, told the Epoch Times in an emailed statement that as of day 38 of the partial shutdown, American travelers are facing hours-long waits at airports across the country. “ More than 450 TSA officers quit and thousands have called out sick from work because they are not able to afford gas, childcare, food, or rent ,” Bis said. “President [Donald] Trump is taking action to deploy hundreds of ICE officers, who are currently funded by Congress, to airports being adversely impacted. This will help bolster TSA efforts to keep our skies safe and minimize air travel disruptions.” The department stated that callout rates for TSA agents remained elevated, reaching almost 11 percent on March 23 , representing 3,200 officers absent from duty. The recorded high callout rate for the shutdown was nearly 12 percent the day before. Major airports saw higher than average absences among agents, including 33.7 percent at John F. Kennedy International Airport, 30.4 percent at Baltimore/Washington International Airport, and 27.5 percent at Pittsburgh International Airport LaGuardia Airport’s callout rate was 20.3 percent, 37.4 percent at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, 34.9 percent at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, and 40.3 percent at William P. Hobby Airport in Houston. Federal immigration agents were deployed to 14 U.S. airports starting on ...

zorazhuang/iStock via Getty Images TC Energy ( TRP ) said Wednesday its Coastal GasLink pipeline project signed commercial agreements with LNG Canada to advance the project's phase 2. TC Energy ( TRP ) said the deals mark an important milestone for Coastal GasLink Phase 2, which still requires a final investment decision by LNG Canada and its joint venture participants, along with approvals from Coastal GasLink. The agreements create a comprehensive commercial framework that supports LNG Canada's pathway to FID by supporting front-end engineering and design and the execution activities that would follow, while maintaining disciplined capital, risk and governance principles, the company said. " Doubling the transmission of natural gas through the existing pipeline will help further strengthen Canada's role as a reliable supplier to global LNG markets," TC Energy ( TRP ) President and CEO François Poirier said. "Increasing LNG exports presents an extraordinary opportunity to transform our economy and establish our country as the number one LNG exporter to Asia." Poirier said earlier this week that the disruption to global liquefied natural gas supplies caused by the Middle East war makes it more likely that a second stage of Canada's massive LNG Canada facility would be built. tupungato/iStock Editorial via Getty Images March 25th was a really difficult day for shareholders of recreational vehicle company Winnebago Industries, Inc. ( WGO ). The stock fell around 6.9% after management announced financial results for the second quarter of the company's 2026 fiscal year. This was actually surprising to me. Revenue and profitability improved year over year. And in fact, financial performance came in above what analysts were anticipating. The company is targeting some growth this year, both on the top and bottom lines. But what likely turned investors off was the fact that the company believes that market conditions will remain mixed throughout 2026. In my previous article about the business, published in December of last year, I acknowledged the mixed picture of the business. And in a separate article completely unrelated to Winnebago Industries, I did challenge the narrative that this year will be a positive year for the RV industry. But at the same time, because of how cheap shares are, I have been bullish. Long term, I believe in the company. And even though the stock is down since I last wrote about it, even underperforming the S&P 500 during that time, I believe that it will do fine enough to justify keeping it as a "Buy" candidate. Taking A Ride With Winnebago Industries The second quarter of the 2026 fiscal year was actually a good time for Winnebago Industries. Take revenue for starters. It came in at $657.4 million for the quarter. That happened to be 6% above the $620.2 million that the company reported the previous year. It also was $30.2 million above what analysts were hoping to see . This is, objectively, a good outcome for the company. And on the bottom line, we saw strength as well. Author - SEC EDGAR Data Earnings per share, for instance, went from negative $0.02 to positive $0.17. That reading ended up being $0.03 higher than what analysts were hoping to see. It ultimately translated to a rise in the bottom line from a loss ...

Representative Seth Moulton, a Democrat from Massachusetts and 2020 presidential candidate, meets with volunteers during a campaign stop in Manchester, New Hampshire, on Tuesday, April 23, 2019. Adam Glanzman | Bloomberg | Getty Images Rep. Seth Moulton , D-Mass.,, on Wednesday announced an office-wide policy barring his congressional staff from using prediction market platforms like Kalshi and Polymarket. "Congressional staff and the Members they work for exist to serve the constituents of the districts they represent, not to profit off of the very policy decisions and world events that we are here to respond to," Moulton said in a statement posted to X . "My office has not, and will not, engage in these trades that run counter to every principle of a clean, honest a government that works for the people." A spokesperson for Moulton said he believes the policy is the first of its kind on Capitol Hill. It comes amid a wave of proposals from lawmakers seeking to rein-in prediction markets, which allow users to place bets on the outcome of a wide-range of events, from basketball games to Oscars best picture winners . The platforms have come under intense scrutiny from some states and casinos, who argue prediction markets offer a loophole for gambling and should be state regulated. Lawmakers have also recently expressed concern about the potential for insider trading on prediction markets, in the wake of well-timed trades on world events like the ouster of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and the war in Iran. Moulton co-sponsored legislation that would bar elected officials from placing prediction market bets on insider information .
