Brussels sprouts are for life, not just for Christmas. They’re still making a regular appearance in our house, from shredded and stir-fried with chilli and spice, to roasted and dressed, as in this salad. And what a salad it is: with a caesar-esque dressing, it is crisp, salty and crunchy, and hits all the right notes. You can bulk it out, if you like, by topping it with a few soft, jammy boiled eggs cut into wedges or some shredded leftover chicken. However, it is pretty perfect as it is, as a light lunch or side. Roast sprout salad with anchovies and parmesan Prep 10 min Cook 35 min Serves 2 as a main 500g brussels sprouts, trimmed Olive oil 2 tbsp white-wine vinegar, or cider vinegar Sea salt and black pepper 125g ciabatta (about ½ loaf) 1 small garlic clove, peeled and roughly chopped 4 anchovy fillets 1 shallot, peeled and finely chopped 25g parmesan 2 little gems, trimmed ½ bunch fresh chives, finely chopped Heat the oven to 240C (220C fan)/475F/gas 9. Halve the sprouts, put them in a large roasting tray and drizzle with two tablespoons of olive oil and a tablespoon of the vinegar, then season generously. Really massage everything into the sprouts, then pop them in the oven for 15 minutes. Tear the ciabatta into small, bite-size pieces and toss these through the roast sprouts. Drizzle with a little more olive oil, then return to the oven for 10-15 minutes, until everything is crisp, slightly charred around the edges and tender. Remove and cool slightly. Meanwhile, make the dressing. In a mortar, pound the garlic with a pinch of sea salt until creamy, then add the anchovies and keep pounding until they have broken down. Muddle in the chopped shallot, two tablespoons of olive oil and the remaining tablespoon of vinegar, then season with black pepper. Clay, N.Y. – Longtime Clay Supervisor Damian Ulatowski will not seek re-election in November, opening the post as Micron Technology builds a memory chip plant that promises to bring historic changes to the town, already Onondaga County’s largest. Ulatowski, 71, a Republican, told syracuse.com | The Post-Standard he will step away as town supervisor when his term expires at the end of the year. “After almost 20 years at the helm, I think it’s time to pass the baton,” he said. The Town of Clay Republican Committee has endorsed Deputy Town Supervisor Joe Bick to run for the post in November. Bick also serves as the chairman of the Onondaga County Republican Committee. The town’s Democratic Committee has not yet made an endorsement for the post, which pays $85,284 a year. Ulatowski has served on the town board since 2000. He was appointed supervisor in 2008, filling the unexpired term of his predecessor, Jim Rowley. He won election to the position in 2009 and won re-election eight times. One of the most memorable quantitative benchmarks was the requirement for a company to have a record of uninterrupted dividend payments for at least 20 consecutive years. Of course, that's not always possible for companies with shorter corporate histories. However, it's something that I view as a fantastic starting point for more established companies with an added twist. I like to cover companies with either 20-plus-year dividend growth streaks or companies that I can envision making it to such a feat. In my view, this is the gold standard for separating the best compounders from the rest. That brings me to my focus for today, which is CMS Energy ( CMS ). When Kody last covered the utility for Brad Thomas with a "Buy" rating in January 2025 , he thought that economic development in Michigan was a positive for the regulated utility's five-year capital spending plan. At the time, he thought shares were discounted as well. Almost a year later, I'm reiterating Kody's "Buy" rating. CMS's current five-year spending plan is $20 billion, which is up from $17 billion for 2024 through 2028. This is also likely to be raised further on the upcoming Q4 2025 earnings call, which should support high single-digit annual adjusted EPS growth. Too many investors are still looking right past a fantastic opportunity outside the artificial intelligence (AI) space. It's been a tough couple of years for Constellation Brands (STZ 1.21%) shareholders. Despite a recent rebound effort, the stock's still down to the tune of 40% from its early-2024 peak, reflecting a headwind the entire booze business has faced during the stretch. As the old saying goes, though, nothing lasts forever. In fact, now may be the right time to plow into this prolonged pullback in anticipation of a continued turnaround. Here are the four top reasons why you might want to make this move sooner than later. 1. Constellation owns two of the best brands in the beer business Constellation offers a small range of premium sprits like High West whiskey and Casa Noble tequila, along with Ruffino and Drylands wine. Its biggest and best-known products are premium beer brands Modelo and Corona, however, which together account for about 90% of its total revenue. This is no trivial detail either. While a recent Gallup Poll indicates a multi-decade low of 54% of U.S. adults now regularly consume alcohol, when the few who do still drink it do so, they're opting for higher-quality premium brands like Constellation's. That doesn't mean Modelo and Corona sidestepped the broad decline in beer consumption, to be clear. Meanwhile, US president Donald Trump on Saturday threatened to impose a 100% tariff on Canada if the country made a trade deal with China. Investors have been turning to gold (GC=F) amid heightened political and economic uncertainty, as the precious metal is considered to act as a safe-haven asset. Connor has held positions at HSBC Holdings Plc including global head of real assets and services and co-head of Middle East investment banking, according to his LinkedIn profile . De Maria is an industrials services banker joining from JPMorgan & Chase & Co. in London. Mizuho has also hired Armand de Vienne , former head of insurance for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at HSBC in Paris, and Richard Robinson , who is set to join from Deutsche Bank AG in New York as vice chair in the industrials group, according to their LinkedIn profiles.
