Companies are scrambling to build artificial intelligence (AI) data centers, with big tech leaders pouring hundreds of billions of dollars into the industry. Amazon recently said it would invest $25 billion into building data centers in Mississippi. Alphabet announced a $40 billion investment in Texas that will go toward building additional AI data centers. So money is flowing into the industry, but there is one giant problem: It's easy to start building an AI data center, but it's a lot harder to finish the job. Bloomberg reported that half of U.S. data center projects have been delayed or canceled due to supply shortages and reliance on Chinese imports for key components. While those issues are putting hurdles in the way of the AI buildout, they also make existing AI data centers more valuable. Companies that got a head start on constructing infrastructure also have compelling advantages. Those factors make these three AI stocks in particular worth watching. Continue reading

Spok ( SPOK ) announced on Tuesday that the company will cut approximately 10% of its workforce and expects to reduce headcount-related expenses and other operating expenses by over $6M annually. The company estimated that it will incur restructuring charges (excluding stock-based compensation) of approximately $1.6 to $2.0M, primarily in the second and third quarters of 2026, in connection with the implementation of the plan—principally in the form of cash expenditures for one-time employee benefits and severance payments — and expects these changes to be substantially complete by the third quarter. As part of this realignment, Michael Wallace, chief operating officer, will take on the additional role of chief financial officer. Wallace has been with Spok since 2017 and served as the company’s chief financial officer from 2017 to 2022. With many Americans turning to Large Language Models for health advice, health systems around the country are eyeing and even rolling out their own branded chatbots in an attempt to harness this already popular tool and steer more people to their services. But the burgeoning trend is raising immediate questions and concerns for the country's complicated and generally underperforming health care system. Executives frame the new offerings as a convenience for patients, meeting people where they are and providing a service with digital equity. They also suggest their chatbots will be a safer alternative to commercial versions people are using now. "We are at an inflection point in healthcare," according to Allon Bloch, CEO of clinical AI company K Health. "Demand is accelerating, and patients are already using AI to navigate their lives." Optimism about a possible peace deal in the Middle East and lower oil prices has bond traders positioning for gains in Treasuries that could send 10-year yields sliding toward 4%. One sizable position in the options market is targeting US 10-year yields at 4.18% within three weeks, down from 4.25% currently. Another is set up for an even deeper bond rally to 4.1% , a level not seen since March 10. Already this week, US bonds climbed as crude retreated from its highs and traders latched on to a report that Iran may pause shipments through the Strait of Hormuz to avoid testing a US blockade. On Tuesday, US President Donald Trump said peace talks could resume “over the next two days” in Pakistan, where negotiations ended without agreement last weekend. “The extent to which the tone change is able to hold is unquestionably a wild card and investors are cognizant that a swift reversal could easily be a social media post away,” Ian Lyngen , head of US rates strategy at BMO Capital Markets, wrote in a note. Adding to the positive momentum, data Tuesday showed a smaller-than-expected rise in wholesale prices in March. The largest amount of open interest, reflecting positions held by option traders, rests between the 112 and 113 call strikes across the May and June 10-year options. These levels equate to traders targeting a 10-year yield range between roughly 4% and 4.2%. The May and June Treasury options expire April 24 and May 22, respectively. Even as some traders wager on a rally, activity in futures and options has fallen off sharply, with many standing back amid the fast-moving and fluid developments in the Middle East. Monday’s session saw volumes on futures and options tied to the Secured Overnight Financing Rate at just 45% and 37% of 20-day average levels, respectively. Similarly, in the cash market, a survey of JPMorgan clients showed that neutral positioning in Treasuries remains elevated, reflecting a continued lack of conviction about where yields are headed gi...

jokuephotography Commerzbank ( CRZBF ) ( CRZBY ) CEO Bettina Orlopp said talks with UniCredit SpA about a deal highlighted a gap between the two companies on their valuation of the German lender, according to a media report on Tuesday. " For the time being, it is clear that our opinions differ quite a lot, starting with the valuation of the two companies and the exchange ratio," Orlopp said in a Bloomberg Television interview. "There are also some disagreements about the potential future business model." Last month, UniCredit ( UNCFF ) ( UNCRY ) disclosed a €35B offer to increase the Italian bank's stake in Commerzbank to over 30%. With the difference of opinion, Orlopp said the bank will maintain its standalone strategy, which the German government indicated it will support. Previously, Commerzbank ( CRZBF ) has said the hostile nature of the offer makes it “difficult” to build mutual trust to reach a deal. UniCredit CEO Andrea Orcel has said the bid is designed to allow the bank to boost its stake in Commerzbank to over 30% without triggering a requirement to make an offer for complete ownership, Bloomberg said. Dadan/iStock via Getty Images Investment Thesis The portfolio managers behind the Capital Group Dividend Value ETF ( CGDV ) typically take a high-conviction, long-term approach to stock selection. Per its annual financial statements , CGDV's turnover rates were only 25-30% for the last three years, and based on the rates for the firm's other actively managed funds, that's a feature of the Capital System, not a bug. Capital Group However, this year may be different. Through April 10, 2026, I have calculated CGDV's YTD portfolio turnover rate to be about 26%, with most changes positioning the fund closer to value. In the article below, I'll discuss the impact from a fundamental perspective, reiterate my prior view that CGDV probably won't outperform traditional dividend ETFs with lower P/E ratios in market downturns, but ultimately, remind readers that CGDV is meant to be a long-term holding. As such, I'll also highlight the dangers of discounting CGDV based on its mediocre short-term returns by relying on a "low rolling returns analysis" that you may not have considered before. For me, it's not quite a "buy", given the uncertainty today, but CGDV still earns a solid "hold" rating, and I look forward to explaining why in further detail below. CGDV Strategy and Performance Summary CGDV has a 0.33% expense ratio, $31 billion assets, and a 1.26% dividend yield based on its current $45.14 share price. Calling it a "Dividend ETF" is quite a stretch, and in fact, CGDV's website describes its objective only as one that produces "consistent income that exceeds the average yield of the S&P 500 by focusing on companies that pay dividends or have the potential to pay dividends." Indeed, CGDV currently holds five stocks that don't pay any dividends at all, including Amazon ( AMZN ), Vertex Pharmaceuticals ( VRTX ), TopBuild ( BLD ), Uber Technologies ( UBER ), and Intel ( INTC ). However, once you understand that CGDV isn't really a dividend ETF, you can begin to appreciate that ...

It’s been two months since the war in Iran began, with no clear end in sight. But after some initial turbulence, Wall Street seems to be blocking out the noise. The S&P 500 Index has climbed almost 10% since March 27, heading for a third consecutive week of gains. Over the same period, the Nasdaq 100 Index has advanced roughly 12%, rattling off 10-straight sessions in the green — its longest winning streak since 2021. After US and Israeli military strikes on Iran set off a five-week long drawdown, traders are now shrugging off negative developments in the Middle East, opting to continue piling into stocks. “It just doesn’t seem that the equity market, or really financial markets in general, are all that concerned about the Strait of Hormuz,” said Doug Peta , chief US investment strategist at BCA Research. While stocks have started to move in tandem again as macroeconomic risks grow, a new earnings season means company fundamentals are more likely to move shares than headlines from Iran. To Mark Hackett , chief market strategist at Nationwide, institutional investors are behind the stock market recovery. After aggressive selling, attention has shifted back to fundamentals, which he says are supportive. Meanwhile, the recent uptick in stock correlations driven by the rapid rebound and institutions’ use of index-tracking vehicles is poised to cool. A gauge of realized one-month correlation in the index’s members is hovering near the highest level since May, suggesting stocks have been trading more on macroeconomic headlines and less on company-specific issues. “As the market settles, I expect that we return to a similar trend to where we started the year, with significant differentiation between winners and losers, with strength in international, small caps and value,” Hackett said. Monday’s trading session demonstrated that anxiety around the war is easing. The S&P 500 was treading water at the start of trading after the US and Iran failed to reach a breakthrough in p...
