A Panicking Oracle Plans To Raise Up To $50 Billion, As Its Stock And Bonds Crater Just over a month ago, on Dec 17, alongside the news that Abu Dhabi was set to invest billions in OpenAI thus preventing a year-end tech rout, we said that ORCL CDS - which on that day hit the widest level since the 2008 financial crisis at 156bps - "may have gone a bit too far" ... ORCL CDS limit down tomorrow (of course, there is no limit down in CDS). https://t.co/FQNgsek5Js — zerohedge (@zerohedge) December 18, 2025 ... and sure enough, for the next month or so, Oracle CDS tightened rather notably. However, we certainly did not expect the company to just sit there and do nothing, as the market started asking questions again about where the tens of billions in committed funding would come from. After all, we were the first to lay out back in November the case why Oracle CDS should be trading much wider than it was at the time (see " Oracle Is First AI Domino To Fall After Barclays Downgrades Its Debt To Sell . ") And since nothing changed, the questions started coming in once more. First, it was Morgan Stanley's analysts ( here for pro subs ) with a major cut to their ORCL price target. The reason: " GPUaaS is a sizable revenue opportunity, but our collaborative deep dive across the equity, credit and GVAT teams suggests the buildout will push EPS below targets and drive materially higher funding needs. Equity valuation appears to reflect this, while credit still looks rich ." Source If that wasn't bad enough, in the same report the bank's credit analysts said that they " reiterate our recommendation to buy 5Y CDS protection. Our new funding and leverage forecasts, paired with technicals, limited financing plan transparency, and our prior IG situation comp analysis, all support a move toward ~200bp, in our view. In regards to the bonds, a common question from investors this year has been whether current levels are a good entry point. We do not think this is case. We actually presen...
还有 AI 开始建起了宗教 ——Crustafarianism(俗称“甲壳教”)。

Key Points Many Gen Xers are nearing retirement without nearly enough savings. If you're in this boat, there may be time to catch up. You can also plan to claim Social Security strategically to make up for a savings shortfall. The $23,760 Social Security bonus most retirees completely overlook › Gen Xers are a unique bunch. They were independent as kids, skeptical as young adults, and adaptable from a technology standpoint. But Gen Xers have also faced their share of financial challenges and upheaval. They had to grapple with the early 1900s recession as young workers, and then the dot-com bust and 2008 financial crisis during their higher-earning years. Throw in the big shift from workplace pensions to self-funded retirement savings that occurred during Gen Xers' careers, and it's no wonder so many are sorely behind on building their nest eggs. Where to invest $1,000 right now? Our analyst team just revealed what they believe are the 10 best stocks to buy right now, when you join Stock Advisor. See the stocks » Data from Fidelity reveals just how far behind Gen Xers are. The good news, though, is that some may still have time to catch up. The average 401(k) balance among boomers Gen Xers Last year, Fidelity reported that the average 401(k) plan balance among Gen Xers was $192,300. And that, frankly, is not a very encouraging number. If we apply the popular 4% rule to that savings balance, it results in an annual income of about $7,700, not accounting for inflation adjustments. Even with Social Security, that's not a ton of money to fall back on. How Gen Xers can make up for limited savings If you're an older member of Gen X and you're unhappy with your retirement savings balance, one thing you may want to consider is working longer. For example, if you're 59 now with plans to retire at 62, rethink that. See if you can plug away until age 65 (which is when Medicare eligibility begins) or 67 (which would be your full retirement age for Social Security) and grow your ...

A woman in Indonesia ’s Aceh province collapsed after being caned 140 times last week for extramarital sex and drinking alcohol in one of the harshest sharia punishments on record. The woman and her partner were struck with a rattan cane in a public park in Aceh province on Thursday as dozens watched, Agence France-Presse reported. Each received 100 lashes for extramarital sex and another 40 for consuming alcohol, according to Banda Aceh sharia police chief Muhammad Rizal. Three female officers administered the punishment in turns, the BBC reported. Dressed all in white, the woman sobbed and flinched throughout the ordeal before losing consciousness and being carried off on a stretcher to a waiting ambulance, witnesses said. Advertisement Aceh is the only province in Muslim-majority Indonesia to enforce sharia law for Muslims, under a special autonomy arrangement granted in 2001. Hundreds of people are flogged publicly in the province each year for offences ranging from drinking alcohol and gambling to adultery and same-sex relations. Rizal told the BBC that the officer would be dismissed from his post.
