Welcome to India Edition, Bloomberg’s daily dive into what’s moving the worlds of business, markets and politics in this dynamic, fast-paced economy. I’m Menaka Doshi . If you didn’t receive this directly in your inbox, you can subscribe here , and share feedback with us here . Today, I look at India’s role in peace-making in the Gulf (it has none yet!) and my colleague Mihir Mishra speaks to a sailor on one of the Indian LPG vessels that navigated the Strait of Hormuz. Ceasefire or Head Fake? Is this truly the start of a ceasefire or the calm before a final brutal assault in the war on Iran? That question has had global markets on edge all day even as oil and the dollar edged back up and stocks tread water . The talk of a deal “could be a head fake,” Fred Fleitz, a former White House National Security Council official now at the America First Policy Institute, said to Bloomberg , though he was hopeful it could lead to an end to major military operations. Right now it looks as if all sides are playing both offense and defense. Israel has continued to strike Iran , which has kept up its attacks on Gulf countries, who are now reportedly considering joining the war , even though it was they who advised the US to back off from its 48-hour ultimatum to Iran. And as more US marines head to the region, President Trump claimed peace negotiations are on with an unnamed interlocutor in Iran. Many countries are pushing to mediate, led by Pakistan . On Monday, Pakistan’s Field Marshal Asim Munir spoke with Trump and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif spoke with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. That leaves India out in the cold, raising questions about the country’s foreign policy outcomes. It’s fine if India wanted to sit this one out but then why visit Israel hours before the war broke? India sees all the actors in this conflict as important partners, and the Gulf as a critical part of its extended neighborhood, making this an inherently delicate balancing act, said Chetna Kuma...

hapabapa JFrog ( FROG ) shares rose 3% in premarket trading on Tuesday after UBS upgraded the enterprise software company, stating that the sell-off due to worries about artificial intelligence is “overdone.” “After speaking with ~15 checks, we upgrade JFrog to a Buy (from Neutral) following a ~30% drop in the stock since early December as we think the risk/reward now looks attractive with AI disruption risk now priced into the stock,” analyst Radi Sultan wrote in a note to clients. “The overall growth outlook for JFrog sounded better than a few months ago, with no signs of a slowdown and virtually every check we spoke with pointing to healthy/accelerating growth this year. Our work supports our FY26-28 revs growth estimates of 24%/21%/19%, respectively above the Street’s 18%/17%/17%, and at 23x our CY27e FCF and sentiment now leaning negative, we like the setup from here. While we think bending the AI disruption narrative will take time, JFrog looks set to benefit from multiple AI tailwinds in the near term and we think upward estimate revisions will be key to flipping the narrative. We see 1Q26 earnings in May as the next catalyst for the stock.” In addition to the upgrade, Sultan put a $60 price target on JFrog shares. peterschreiber.media/iStock via Getty Images ASP Isotopes ( ASPI ) said Tuesday it has begun a strategic collaboration with the University of Bristol for the design of a state-of-the-art lithium laser research facility in the U.K . Under the terms of the agreement, the University of Bristol will lead the design and feasibility study for a site-agnostic laser enrichment research facility over an estimated four-month initial phase, the company said. Subject to a positive feasibility assessment, the groups would proceed with construction of the facility at a University of Bristol site off-campus to enable cutting-edge research commissioned and funded by ASP Isotopes' ( ASPI ) subsidiary Quantum Leap Energy. ASP Isotopes ( ASPI ) shares surged 14.6% on Monday after announcing it had completed the drilling of the wells required for Phase 1 of the Renergen Helium Project approximately four months ahead of schedule. "Drilling results from the Phase 1C exploration campaign indicate that the reservoir system is capable of delivering gas flow rates that meet or exceed previously estimated type curves—directly addressing the flow constraints that have historically limited plant utilization and helium production," ASP Isotopes ( ASPI ) Executive Chairman and CEO Paul Mann said.
