A federal judge said he would let label-maker Multi-Color Corp. draw the rest of its $250 million Chapter 11 loan, but stopped short of approving a contested feature of the financing that would push some existing debt to the top of the repayment line. US Bankruptcy Judge Michael Kaplan said Thursday he was prepared to grant final approval for the debtor-in-possession loan, which would unlock another $125 million after the court authorized an initial draw last month. However, he said he wasn’t ready to sign-off on a provision in the deal that rolls-up a total of $250 million of existing debt in exchange for the new money, an aspect of the financing opposed by rival lenders. Absent a settlement among the lenders, Kaplan said he needs more information about how the roll-up would affect different unsecured creditors. He said he would revisit the issue at a trial next month, when Multi-Color seeks confirmation of its proposed restructuring. Lenders backing the restructuring include private equity sponsor Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, along with Apollo Capital Management, Ares Management and Arini Capital Management. The roll-up is a fundamental part of the consideration lenders negotiated, Evan Fleck, a lawyer for the lender group, said at Thursday’s hearing. Fleck said his clients may be unwilling to fund the financing without the roll-up, though lawyers for the parties said they would continue negotiations out of court. Another hearing on the financing is scheduled for Friday morning. Kaplan said that while roll-ups have become a common feature of Chapter 11 financing, the effect on Multi-Color’s unsecured creditors “requires further analysis and a more expansive record” at a later hearing. The judge granted interim approval of the loan, and part of the roll-up, when Multi-Color first filed for bankruptcy. Opposing lenders, including Canyon Capital Advisors LLC, said they had offered alternative financing and argued the roll-up would improperly shift value from lower-ranki...

Apple Music: "Here's three metal songs with vocals, a field recording , an ambient electronic track , and a piece of doom jazz ." I am skeptical of AI's ability to serve up the music I want to begin with, but even I was caught slightly off guard by how underwhelming Apple's new Playlist Playground beta is. YouTube Music's AI playlist generator is far from perfect, but when I gave it the same prompt for instrumental black metal, it wasn't until the fifth track that it delivered something with lyrics, and that was the exception, rather than the ru … Read the full story at The Verge.
