However, because it's a LATAM-based company in its relatively early innings, long-term investors get plenty of opportunities to buy the occasional dip and add to their positions at extremely attractive prices. For that, though, conviction and confidence are necessary, which is what we're here to provide. Let's dive in. The Nubank Investment Thesis, 2026 Edition It's been two and a half years since I picked Nubank as my top 2024 pick , and I think it's safe to say we've done alright, with the stock up 85%, almost doubling the market performance. Data by YCharts The beauty is that the company had and still has such a huge opportunity that the 2024 investment thesis remains largely valid today. At the basic level, Nu has found a unique formula to provide a wide range of financial services that are in extremely high demand, solely through digital surfaces, and with a relentless focus on customer satisfaction. This is giving Nu two huge advantages. One, unparallele d cost-to-serve advantages, and two, very low customer acquisition costs , in an industry that's known for traditionally having very high CAC . Nu Q4 '2 5 Presentation Those two advantages are combined with a jaw-dropping TAM, best reflected by the gap between the average ARPAC of $15 relative to the $30 levels of long-term customers. Importantly, that $30 level is constantly expanding as well, as Nu launches more and more products and enters into areas of service. Nu Q4 '2 5 Presentation So, bottom line: rapid growth, large TAM, and extremely attractive unit economics. Fundamentals Are Surging Ahead From Quarter To Quarter We've got one part of the 'Long-Term Investor's Dream' established, which is the extraordinary long-term opportunity. However, this gets even better, because it's not just a...

Volatility is the name of the game with the stock market right now. Uncertainty reigns amid concerns about the Middle East and resurgent inflation. The odds of a U.S. recession have increased sharply in betting markets. All of this could easily become overwhelming, especially to new investors and those hoping to retire soon. Some are probably tempted to sell everything and only hold cash. Others check their portfolios frequently, fearful of what they might see. Neither approach is ideal. I have been an investor for over 30 years. I've written about investing for 14 years. After watching multiple market cycles, if I could tell investors one thing about the stock market right now, it would be this: The biggest mistake you can make is to focus on short-term uncertainty instead of the long-term opportunity. Speaking to the BBC after the Guardian revealed that ministers were planning to use so-called Henry VIII powers to dynamically align with EU rules by default, Starmer argued that, nearly 10 years after the Brexit referendum, it was time to “look forward”. PM says opening waterway is ‘vital’ as he rules out any UK involvement in US moves to blockade strait In his Radio 5 Live interview, Keir Starmer was also asked about this Guardian story by Alexandra Topping and Peter Walker saying “ministers are planning to fundamentally reshape Britain’s relationship with the European Union , with new legislation that could result in the UK signing up to EU single market rules without a normal parliamentary vote”. Starmer defended the proposed legislation, saying a closer relationship with the EU was in the national interest. He said: We’re in a world where there’s massive conflict, great uncertainty, and I strongly believe the UK’s best interests are in a stronger, closer relationship with Europe, whether that’s defence and security, of course, energy … and also our economy … I think there’s also a sense, 10 years on from the Brexit referendum, that we’ve got to look forward now, not backwards. What's special about May 6? That's the date Occidental Petroleum is scheduled to hold a conference call to discuss its first-quarter financial results. The oil and gas producer will release its Q1 results following the market close on the previous day. My hunch is that Occidental will have very good news for investors in its next quarterly update.
