Kiwi caipirinha Serves 1 For the kiwi jam 3 kiwi fruit 3 tbsp sugar 3 tbsp lemon juice For the drink 50ml silver cachaça 50ml kiwi jam (see above and method) 25ml fresh lime juice, plus a lime wedge to garnish 1 splash 1:1 sugar syrup, to taste 2 dashes 20% saline solution (that is, 1 part sea salt dissolved in 5 parts water) First make the jam. Peel the kiwis, then blend the flesh to a pulp. Scrape into a saucepan, add the sugar and lemon juice, then heat gently over a low heat for about 10 minutes, until jammy. Decant into a clean jar, seal and store in the fridge, where it will keep for about four days (use any excess to make more caipirinhas, or spread it on your morning toast). To build the drink, measure all the ingredients into a shaker filled with ice and shake hard until very cold. Single strain into a tumbler filled with fresh ice, garnish with a big wedge of lime (or, if you’re feeling fancy, a slice of dehydrated kiwi) and serve.

London has cemented its role as a leading offshore hub for China’s yuan, according to a new financial cooperation agreement that also aims to ease the cross-listing of firms in each other’s markets. The deal emerged from the first meeting of the UK-China Financial Working Group, which convened in Beijing on Saturday. The meeting coincided with the final day of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s state visit. The meeting’s outcome and a joint statement were not made public until Friday. Chinese scientists and engineers are developing a smart, ultra-small hypersonic glide missile that can be fired from an 80mm (3.4-inch) anti-aircraft gun. Upon leaving the barrel, the missile reaches a speed close to Mach 6, far faster than a conventional anti-aircraft shell. This allows it to strike fighter jets or drones more than 20km (12 miles) away, even at altitudes around 10,000 metres (32,800 feet). The luxury handbag company’s momentum is driven by an unprecedented rise to fame with Coach, continuing to drive highly impressive results. I believe that investors should take a longer-term approach, and note that recent growth built is on an unsustainable foundation. I maintained a Hold rating in my previous August 2025 article on the stock, titled “ Tapestry: Coach Leads A Weak Luxury Market ”. The stock has since returned 30%, outperforming the S&P 500’s 9% gain. My Rating History on TPR (Seeking Alpha) The Narrative Remains In Coach As Earnings Surge In Q2 The Coach brand is driving immensely good financial results for Tapestry; the trend that I noted in my previous article has persisted and even accelerated. Adjusting for the previous divestment of the underperforming Stuart Weitzman brand, Tapestry’s revenues grew by 18% to $2.50 billion for Q2 . The growth was led by an impressive 25% sales surge to $2.14 billion for the main Coach brand, meanwhile Kate Spade lost -14% of its sales year-on-year to a total of $0.36 billion. AAP’s valuations seem like the operating business is trading as an OTM call option. DIY elasticity and LIFO headwinds present short-term volatility, but the strategic shift from retrofitting legacy infrastructure to deploying high-velocity greenfield Market Hubs builds an upside scenario. The $3.17 billion liquidity injection underwrites the build-years of 2025-2026 and is a catastrophic floor that caps downside risk. The major risks to my thesis include the structural inability to pass through tariff-related inflation to price-sensitive DIY consumers and the potential for cash burn to accelerate if the 2024 Restructuring Plan fails to stabilize negative FCF. Is the long freeze on Chinese automakers selling cars in the US finally starting to thaw? China is the largest auto market in the world and now the largest car exporter, too. But high tariffs and geopolitical tensions have kept Chinese automakers away from US customers. Many of those cars are ready for primetime and are fully competitive with current offerings in the United States. Geely is among those Chinese carmakers that want to sell their cars here. It’s already sailed past one of two hurdles any of them need to clear to do that: Its Volvo Cars division already has an assembly plant in South Carolina that would let it build its cars domestically. That plant now builds the Volvo EX90 electric SUV and the Polestar 3 that shares its platform; it will add the Volvo XC60 late this year. Few US buyers realize it, but Geely has controlled the Swedish automaker for more than 15 years. Is the Volvo factory a possible foothold for Geely’s future in the US? Software from “countries of concern” The challenge for Geely is that any Chinese company selling cars in the US must certify that all software for autonomous driving, and all hardware and software for connectivity and telematics, has not been developed in or controlled by a “country of concern” (China or Russia). Those strictures sit within a Commerce Department rule that took effect in March 2025; it’s intended to protect the country from hostile use of advanced auto technologies by adversary countries. Being able to see their emails makes something very clear: The “anti-woke” movement was not a genteel intellectual inquiry, made by disinterested parties who cared deeply about free speech. It is a social circle of powerful people who feel threatened by #MeToo. Reading through the emails, it’s possible to see that Epstein himself coordinated pushback against #MeToo. Amazon AMZN shares plunged about 10% in extended trading on Thursday after the company reported mixed fourth-quarter results and announced a higher capital expenditure outlook for 2026. The company posted earnings per share of $1.95, below the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1.98, while revenues of $213.39 billion came in stronger than the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $211.46 billion. Earnings grew about 4.8% year over year while revenues surged 13.6%. Inside Key Business Segments Performance Key business segments delivered solid performance during the quarter.
