11.36 GMT Trump posts racist video depicting Obamas as monkeys Hello and welcome to today’s live coverage. Donald Trump went on a massive social media spree overnight that included posting on Truth Social an election conspiracy video that ended with a clip depicting former president Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama as monkeys. The racist depiction of the Obamas – the first Black president and first lady in American history – appears at the end of a one-minute video perpetuating the false and disproven claims that ballot-counting company Dominion Voting Systems helped steal the 2020 presidential election from Trump. The company in 2023 settled for $787.5m with Fox News in a landmark defamation lawsuit. For two seconds, the video shows the smiling faces of the Obamas superimposed on monkeys bobbing to “The Lion Sleeps Tonight”. As of Friday morning, the video has been liked more than 2,500 times and reposted more than 1,100 times, as prominent Democrats decried the post. “Disgusting behavior by the President. Every single Republican must denounce this. Now,” said the press office of California governor Gavin Newsom, a longtime Trump critic and potential 2028 Democratic presidential candidate. “This is overt racism. Full stop. There’s no ‘misinterpretation’ and no excuse. This is who he is, who he’s always been, and why he should never be anywhere near power again,” political strategist Adam Parkhomenko posted on X. The video was just one of more than 60 posts the president made on Truth Social over the course of three hours. In addition to repeating lies about the 2020 presidential election, Trump posted the Trump Accounts Super Bowl ad and calls to add his face to Mount Rushmore. More to come.

For Immediate Release Chicago, IL – February 6, 2026 – Today, Zacks Investment Ideas feature highlights Robinhood Markets, Inc. HOOD and Nvidia NVDA. Best Stock to Buy for the Selloff: HOOD Down -50% Ahead of Earnings? Robinhood Markets, Inc. stock skyrocketed to all-time highs in October as it flexed its growing credentials as a diversified digital brokerage powerhouse. HOOD transformed from an upstart stock-trading app that became famous in the early months of Covid into an S&P 500 giant and a direct competitor to Fidelity and other online brokerages. Check out the Zacks Earnings Calendar to stay ahead of market-moving news. Despite its roughly 50% drop from its highs, the boundary-pushing financial services firm has soared 650% in the past two years to more than triple Nvidia and blow away many other artificial intelligence stocks. Robinhood grew overheated and was due for a healthy recalibration. Its earnings and revenue growth outlook remain strong even as it gets caught in fears surrounding bitcoin, AI disruption, and beyond. It is far more than an app for meme-stock traders. Today, HOOD boasts that its 11 separate business lines each generate ~$100 million or more in annualized revenues. HOOD is approaching some very attractive technical levels for traders and long-term investors to start buying the stock heading into its Q4 earnings release on Tuesday, February 10. The growth stock is approaching its post IPO breakout peak from 2021. Robinhood's average Zacks price target offers 86% upside to its current price, and it's trading at its most oversold RSI levels in history. Why Investors Should Buy Robinhood Stock Robinhood might still be viewed as a meme-stock-mania-app to a large pocket of investors. But that company and its users have come a long way since it first disrupted the industry with commission-free stock trading, which is now standard across most digital brokers, including Fidelity. HOOD is growing into a legitimate rival to Fidelity, catering to a...

Monday You almost find me on my way to Berlin. I’m not usually one for travel – I haven’t left the UK since 2017 and my passport has about 10 minutes left to run (it’s not patriotism, by the way, it’s sloth) – but exceptions must always be made in the case of a Kartoffel-Flut. It means “potato flood”. There has been such a bumper harvest of God’s own tuber this year that German farmers are literally giving them away. Around the city 174 dump/distribution spots have been set up, and charities, churches and citizens are being encouraged to take as much as they can. Berlin zoo has also been given tonnes to feed its animals. What a vision. What a demi-paradise. All those whose roots, like the Mangans’, are to be found in Catholic Ireland will feel the urge to go and stock up stirring in their ancestral DNA. The connection is deep and it is real. I genuinely had to be restrained from going. It made no financial sense, said my husband. “You’re an Ulster Protestant,” I replied. “Of course you’re going to say that.” He has hidden my passport. What do they say about history? Tragedy first, then it repeats itself as domestic farce. But I’ll find that passport yet. Tuesday Are you a lark, perhaps reading this over a cup of coffee early on a Saturday morning after a jog or child sacrifice or whatever it is you people get up to before, say, noon? Or are you that most unfairly maligned creature, the night owl, perhaps reading this online before you go to bed at a sensible hour like one or two in the morning? If the latter, beware of research that claims there is not one type of night owl, but three: “vulnerable”, more likely to be sedentary and prone to depression; “energetic”, risk-takers at low risk of depression; and “high-performing”, those who have quick reaction times but lack emotional regulation. Look, far be it from me to dismiss scientific research by experts on circadian rhythms, but babes, you haven’t found three types of owl. You’ve found one type of owl before, duri...

undefined China is overhauling its state-run aviation-fuel market, folding the country’s jet-fuel monopoly into its biggest refiner in a bid to build a globally competitive energy champion and tighten control over a sector Beijing sees as a rare growth pocket. The State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission said last month that China Petrochemical Corp., known as Sinopec, will absorb China National Aviation Fuel Group Ltd., or CNAF, in a restructuring approved by the State Council. The deal ends CNAF’s two-decade run as the dominant jet-fuel supplier and creates a vertically integrated operator spanning refining, logistics and airport refueling.

AMD just dropped the Ryzen 7 9850X3D at CES 2026, and it's officially the fastest gaming processor money can buy. But here's the twist: it's essentially a finely tuned version of the already-excellent Ryzen 7 9800X3D, with a 400MHz clock speed boost and identical everything else. Whether that makes it worth the extra cash is exactly what an AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D review needs to answer. What Is the AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D? The Ryzen 7 9850X3D is an eight-core, 16-thread processor built on AMD's Zen 5 architecture using TSMC's 4nm process. The defining feature is AMD's second-generation 3D V-Cache technology, which stacks 96MB of L3 cache directly beneath the cores. This design is radically different from earlier X3D chips where the cache sat on top, creating thermal bottlenecks and limiting clock speeds. With the cache placed underneath, heat dissipates better and clock speeds climb higher. The 9850X3D hits a 5.6GHz boost clock straight out of the box, something previous X3D generations couldn't touch. That 400MHz advantage over the 9800X3D is the main event here. Specifications and Pricing Ryzen 7 9850X3D: Architecture : Zen 5 : Zen 5 Cores/Threads : 8/16 : 8/16 Base Clock : 4.7 GHz : 4.7 GHz Boost Clock : 5.6 GHz : 5.6 GHz Total Cache : 104MB (8+96) : 104MB (8+96) TDP : 120W : 120W Socket : AM5 : AM5 MSRP: $499 Ryzen 7 9800X3D: Architecture : Zen 5 : Zen 5 Cores/Threads : 8/16 : 8/16 Base Clock : 4.7 GHz : 4.7 GHz Boost Clock : 5.2 GHz : 5.2 GHz Total Cache : 104MB (8+96) : 104MB (8+96) TDP : 120W : 120W Socket : AM5 : AM5 MSRP: $479 The Ryzen 7 9850X3D arrived on January 29, 2026, at an MSRP of $499, just $20 more than the 9800X3D's launch price. This pricing is the crux of the value question: is 400MHz worthan extra twenty bucks? Gaming Performance: Where It Actually Matters This is where the 9850X3D earns its title. In gaming-focused benchmarks, the CPU consistently ranks at the top, particularly in titles that are sensitive to cache and clock speed. In "Counter-Str...

This article first appeared on GuruFocus. Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) just decided not to rush something that could easily go wrong. The company is reportedly scaling back a plan to launch an AI-powered health coach, an idea that sounds exciting on paper but gets complicated fast once real people and real health data are involved. Internally, the project was known as Mulberry, and according to Bloomberg, it's been quietly wound down in recent weeks. Instead of shipping a standalone AI health service, Apple now plans to take some of those ideas and roll them out slowly inside the Health app. That's a very Apple move. Health is one of those areas where a flashy AI rollout could backfire if it gives bad advice or crosses regulatory lines, so Apple seems to be choosing patience over hype.

Internet fraudsters cheated Hong Kong consumers out of about HK$350 million (US$44.8 million) through online shopping scams between January and November 2025, while the number of such cases grew by 8 per cent year on year. Police also said that about 63 per cent of cases over the period involved bogus concert ticket sales, while another 9 per cent were related to fake sales of electronic goods. According to figures released on Friday, 11,449 online shopping scams were reported in the first 11 months of last year, up from 10,576 and 8,332 during the same period in 2024 and 2023, respectively. Advertisement Total losses in 2025 for such cases reached about HK$350 million, matching the figure for the same period the previous year. In comparison, losses stood at around HK$170 million between January and November 2023. Superintendent Cheung Hau-yee of the force’s cybersecurity and technology crime bureau noted the trend remained upwards, but said: “The rate of increase has shown obvious signs of slowing down.” Advertisement She pointed to an 8 per cent increase in the number of cases from 2024 to 2025, compared with a 27 per cent rise from 2023 to 2024.

Rheinmetall AG ’s stock market halo slipped a little this week as confusion over an accounting change tempered expectations for earnings at one of Europe’s best-performing largecaps of recent years. The tank and ammunition maker’s shares fell as much as 15% in the last five days — at one point facing the worst weekly drop since 2020 — weighed down in part by an analyst call that prompted several brokers to cut earnings estimates for 2026 and beyond. The fall mostly erased its 2026 gains, before the stock pared losses on Friday. In addition to broader weakness in high-flying European defense stocks, sentiment toward Rheinmetall was dented by uncertainty stemming from an accounting adjustment introduced in December. A pre-close call this week led some analysts to realize they hadn’t properly incorporated recent information within their estimates, which they trimmed as a result. “We and our sell-side peers had clearly misunderstood,” said JPMorgan Chase & Co. analysts led by David Perry , referring to 2026 sales guidance given by Rheinmetall on Wednesday. Defense was a key driver of Europe’s equity rally last year, with the region’s rapid expansion of military spending expected to provide a powerful tailwind in the years ahead. Rheinmetall notched its best year on record in 2025, surging 154%. Sentiment toward the stock was buoyed in December as the company outlined a plan to divest its remaining non-military businesses and its Power Systems unit. Rheinmetall made an accounting change to reflect the move and boosted its group outlook for 2025 — though the full impact on numbers was “simply missed” by consensus, according to Morgan Stanley. As a result, concerns flared when Rheinmetall this week delivered an indicative 2026 outlook that confused analysts — because based on the 2025 outlook adjustment communicated in December, many had assumed the 2026 forecast for this year would look better. A spokesperson for Rheinmetall declined to comment. Barclays Plc analysts led ...

The Baird Equity Opportunity Fund ( BSVSX ) underperformed, generating a net return of 2.8% for the year.* While the market’s performance was relatively “normal”, 2025 felt anything but normal to us. From a macro perspective, there seemed to be a constant flow of chaotic events, including the surprising unveiling of significant tariffs across most trading partners, attacks on the Federal Reserve’s independence, and US military strikes across various geographic theaters. Despite this, equity returns were generally solid across the board. Large-cap stocks again outpaced small-caps, continuing a decade-long trend. Growth and value stocks alike moved higher, and in the smaller-cap arena, only the consumer sector posted negative absolute returns. The top individual contributors to performance this year were AI-semiconductor company Astera Labs ( ALAB ), satellite service provider Globalstar ( GSAT ), and sports data purveyor Sportradar ( SRAD ). We mentioned the first two names in our Q3 letter, since both were strong during that period. We have owned Sportradar for several years, first building a position in the single digits after the stock declined some 75% post its 2021 IPO. Sportradar, through key relationships with many large global sport leagues, is the leader in providing critical data to online sports books such as DraftKings and Flutter. The business model is characterized by double-digit revenue growth, high visibility from subscription-based contracts, and rapidly rising profit margins via operating leverage. Sportradar remains a prominent holding at year end. Key detractors during the year were BILL Holdings ( BILL ), Phreesia ( PHR ), and Mister Car Wash ( MCW ). After performing strongly in late 2024, BILL gave back its gains in 2025. A leading B2B payments provider, fundamentals ha...
