DHS Reports More Than 180 Vehicle Attacks On Law Enforcement Authored by Naveen Athrappully via The Epoch Times, Immigration officers have faced 182 vehicular attacks since President Donald Trump took office last year , the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said in a Feb. 3 statement. Out of the 182 attacks between Jan. 21, 2025, and Jan. 24, 2026, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers faced 114, up by 124 percent from the 51 attacks during the same time period the previous year. The remaining 68 attacks were faced by officers from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Attacks on ICE are up by 3,300 percent from two assaults previously, according to the DHS. In an attack in September, an illegal immigrant from Guatemala hit and injured an ICE officer with his car while trying to evade arrest. The incident happened during a traffic stop when the man put his car in reverse and hit the officer in the leg, nearly crushing the officer. The foreign national was eventually arrested. In another attack earlier last month, two suspected associates of the Tren de Aragua gang weaponized their vehicle against Border Patrol. One agent took immediate action to defend himself and others, shooting the illegal immigrants. No law enforcement personnel suffered injuries, while the illegal immigrants were hospitalized. In its recent statement, DHS listed out several other similar vehicular attacks against immigration officers. The department cited DHS Secretary Kristi Noem’s warning that anyone who “lay a hand on a law enforcement officer” would be “prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.” “Sanctuary politicians with their rhetoric comparing ICE to the Nazi Gestapo, slave patrols, and the secret police and encouraging illegal aliens to evade arrest have incited violence against law enforcement,” DHS Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin said in the Feb. 3 press release. Democratic lawmakers have criticized the actions of immigration officers under...

Newcastle United players waited impatiently in the tunnel at the Etihad. It was three minutes until kick-off and the Carabao Cup holders were desperate to get going as a bemused Kieran Trippier looked around and wondered where his counterparts from Manchester City were. There was no sign of Pep Guardiola's team. The hosts took their time to emerge from the dressing room, but they quickly left Newcastle in a daze after racing into a 3-0 lead in the second leg of their semi-final. On a day CEO David Hopkinson doubled down on his assertion that Newcastle will be competing for the biggest prizes by 2030, the naive visitors looked a long way off in that first half. Head coach Eddie Howe certainly did not hold back in the away dressing room as he made a triple change at half-time. "I was really annoyed," he said. Not for the first time. Newcastle managed to rally after the break and pulled one back through substitute Anthony Elanga as they bowed out with a 5-1 defeat on aggregate. This was a night where those 5,400 supporters in the away end repeatedly chanted "Eddie Howe's black and white army", in recognition of the head coach who ended the club's seven-decade wait for a major domestic trophy in this very competition. But this has been a challenging season for Newcastle and it shows no signs of relenting.

March WTI crude oil (CLH26) on Wednesday closed up +1.93 (+3.05%), and March RBOB gasoline (RBH26) closed up +0.0673 (+3.55%). Crude oil and gasoline prices rallied sharply on Wednesday, with gasoline climbing to a 2.5-month high. Crude prices shook off early losses on Wednesday and surged on news that upcoming nuclear talks between the US and Iran have hit a snag, raising the risk of an escalation in tensions between the two countries. Crude oil prices also garnered support on Wednesday from a bullish weekly EIA report that showed crude supplies fell more than expected. Don’t Miss a Day: Crude prices surged on Wednesday after Axios reported that the US told Iran it would not agree to Iran's demands to change the location and format of talks scheduled for Friday. The US insists the talks proceed in Turkey on Friday, but Iran wants them in Oman. The development heightened expectations that the US could proceed with military strikes against Iran, which could disrupt key shipping lanes as well as Iran's 3.3 million bpd of crude production. Last Thursday, crude oil rallied to a 5.75-month high after President Trump said that US ships he ordered to the Middle East were ready to fulfill their mission "with speed and violence, if necessary" if Iran fails to agree to a nuclear deal. An attack on Iran, OPEC's fourth-largest producer, could disrupt the country's crude supplies and potentially close the Strait of Hormuz, through which about 20% of the world's oil passes. Crude has support after President Trump said he would roll back tariffs on India in exchange for an agreement for India to stop buying Russian oil. Deliveries of Russian crude into Indian ports fell to about 1.2 million bpd in December, the lowest in more than three years. An increase in crude exports from Venezuela is also boosting global oil supplies and is bearish for prices. Reuters reported on Monday that Venezuelan crude exports rose to 800,000 bpd in January from 498,000 bpd in December. Crude oil also ...

When Valve first announced its impressive-looking Steam Machine, Steam Frame, and Steam Controller hardware in November, the company said the products would begin shipping in early 2026. Some journalists were told “Q1 2026” specifically. But because of the ongoing memory and storage crunch, that launch has been delayed to sometime in the first half of this year, and Valve says it will reset expectations for how much they will cost “as soon as possible.” “We planned on being able to share specific pricing and launch dates by now,” Valve says in a new post. “But the memory and storage shortages you’ve likely heard about across the industry have rapidly increased since then. The limited availability and growing prices of these critical components mean we must revisit our exact shipping schedule and pricing (especially around Steam Machine and Steam Frame).” Valve says that its goal of “shipping all three products in the first half of the year has not changed. But we have work to do to land on concrete pricing and launch dates that we can confidently announce, being mindful of how quickly the circumstances around both of those things can change.” When The Verge and other outlets met with Valve to preview the new hardware, the company remained mostly vague about pricing at the time — one of the most important questions if these devices would compete with game consoles rather than PCs. From the beginning, Valve told us the Steam Machine, its ambitious new console, would be “positioned closer to the entry level of the PC space.” For the Frame, the company said it was aiming for a price that was less than its previous headset, the Index, which cost $999. And for the Steam Controller, Valve said it was targeting a price that would be competitive with other controllers with “advanced inputs.” But within days of Valve’s hardware announcements last November, it became clear that Valve would have a tough time offering competitive pricing with the cost of RAM shooting up. It told...

Earnings Call Insights: LifeVantage Corporation (LFVN) Q2 2026 Management View CEO Steven Fife acknowledged, "our Q2 revenue and earnings were down significantly from prior year levels, we were cycling the exclusive launch of our MindBody GLP-1 system in October of last year." He emphasized that the primary driver of the revenue decline was increased competition in the natural GLP-1 market, with pharmaceutical GLP-1 drugs becoming more accessible and affordable, impacting sales of MindBody. Fife reported, "to be conservative, we are recognizing a reserve against a portion of our GLP-1 inventory and evaluating all options to respond to the changing competitive landscape. We are also taking a hard look at cost reduction opportunities to ensure we continue to maintain strong levels of profitability." He maintained commitment to the MindBody GLP-1 system and described recent progress on product launches and operational synergies from the LoveBiome acquisition, which contributed $4.1 million in revenue following the October acquisition. Regarding technology, Fife stated, "continued progress on our Shopify partnership...will deliver enhanced e-commerce capabilities," with a pilot program on track. He also highlighted international expansion and ongoing efforts to leverage the LoveBiome portfolio with new product launches. Fife announced, "we've returned over $20 million to shareholders through dividends and share repurchases. And today, we announced a new $60 million share repurchase authorization." CFO Carl Aure said, "For the second quarter of fiscal 2026, we delivered net revenue of $48.9 million, which was down 27.8% compared to $67.8 million in the second quarter of fiscal 2025 but was up 2.9% sequentially from the first quarter." He noted the revenue decrease was primarily due to declines in sales of the MindBody GLP-1 system. Aure explained, "Our gross profit percentage for the second quarter was 74%, down from 80.5% in the prior year period, reflecting a onetime a...
