This drug is in Phase 2a of the SIGNAL-AA trial and has reported positive data from previous studies. Bempikibart also has an open-label extension (OLE) study that suggests durable responses and potential AA remission. Recently, QTTB sold its other non-core ADX-097 program to Akebia Therapeutics ( AKBA ), which allows them to concentrate on Bempikibart. In my view, this is clearly a highly speculative stock until they receive FDA approval for one of its candidates and generate revenues consistently. However, I'm optimistic about Bempikibart's prospects, and QTTB's valuation seems reasonable, which is why I ultimately rate it a speculative "Buy" nonetheless. Bet On Treating Alopecia Q32 Bio Inc. is a clinical-stage biotechnology company that develops biologic therapeutics for autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. The company is currently headquartered in Waltham, Massachusetts, and it began trading under the ticker QTTB after the merger with Homology Medicines in March 2024. I previously covered QTTB in August 2024, but since then, the stock has plunged by around 81.4%. So, I thought it was worthwhile revisiting this name to update my thesis on them. American Academy of Dermatology Late Breaker Session - March 2025 As a quick recap, QTTB's pipeline includes its main leading asset called Bempikibart. This is a candidate for treating alopecia areata, which is an autoimmune disease that causes hair loss. The company has completed enrollment in Part B of the SIGNAL-AA Phase 2 trial, with 33 patients, and they're now expecting topline data by mid-2026. In my view, this gives the stock a clear near-term catalyst that, if positive, could quickly re-rate the stock higher. After all, QTTB's latest investor presentation quoted that there are almost 700 thousand AA patients in the US alone. And globally, this market is ...

Kenneth Cheung Jefferies sees upside for Expedia ( EXPE ) and Instacart after recent developments suggest the Internet names could be AI beneficiaries. Analyst John Colantuoni and his team upgraded both to a Buy rating as they called the recent sell-off a buying opportunity. The positive view on the AI upside for the names is based in part on OpenAI's ( OPENAI ) shift away from consumer-facing products and its plans to scale back direct checkout ambitions in favor of advertising. In addition, Google's ( GOOGL ) commitment to remain a source of referral traffic is seen as a positive. "We believe these developments support our view that LLMs will evolve into another performance channel that helps consolidate share around scaled Internet players. In addition, we see AI helping improve recommendation engines, reduce customer acquisition costs, enhance product velocity, and lower customer service costs," advised Colantuoni. Jefferies set a price target of $300 on Expedia ( EXPE ), implying a ~14X 2027 GAAP P/E trading multiple. The price target on Instacart ( CART ) was set at $45, which works out to a 15X 2027 GAAP P/E. Shares of Expedia ( EXPE ) rose 2.7% in premarket trading, while Instacart was up 1.4%. The Philippines said it increased its stockpile of petroleum products to 51 days, as the import-dependent nation searches the world for alternative suppliers while the war in Iran continues. The Southeast Asian nation’s inventory of gasoline, diesel, jet fuel and other products stood at 50.94 days as of March 27, up from 45 days previously, Energy Secretary Sharon Garin said in a briefing on Monday. The inventory boost comes as state-owned Philippine National Oil Company helped procure additional supplies to meet the country’s energy requirements. There were 142,000 barrels of diesel that arrived recently from Japan, and the government expects about 900,000 barrels more from sources including Malaysia, Singapore, India and Oman, Garin said. “Hopefully we can have more country suppliers because this is the intention of the PNOC that we search for other alternative suppliers, not the supplier countries from the Middle East,” she said. “We want to explore more on the America side like Colombia, Argentina, Canada and the US.” The Philippines, which imports almost all of its oil from the Middle East, is trying to find other sources to ease the supply crunch that has triggered the government to declare a national energy emergency . That includes Russia from where refiner Petron Corp. has procured 2.48 million barrels of crude oil and plans to buy more from that country if the war in Iran persists. China has exported cargoes of diesel and other fuels to Southeast Asian nations including the Philippines over the weekend in what could be a signal of support despite export curbs imposed earlier this month. Read More: Chinese Cargoes Hint at Fuels Relief for Neighbors Despite Curbs Petron was able to secure Russian oil after the US issued a waiver allowing the purchase of the crude. Garin said the Philippines, a longtime US ally, has been given a window to buy more Russian oil until April 12 under that waiver. She said the move had clearance from all parties involved. “The pri...

It's also known as being underwater on your loan or upside down. The share of underwater buyers is up 4.2 percentage points from a year ago and has been growing since 2022. However, it's not as high as it was before the pandemic: In 2019, the annual share of trade-ins with negative equity for new-car purchases was 33.6%, according to J.D. Power data. Famed aviator Amelia Earhart mysteriously disappeared in 1937 during an attempt to become the first female pilot to circumnavigate the globe. Speculative theories abound about what really happened to Earhart, but while tantalizing hints of her fate have popped up from time to time over the last 90 years, none have proved conclusive. The people behind those theories, and the extraordinary woman who still inspires them, are the focus of an eminently readable new book, Lost: Amelia Earhart's Three Mysterious Deaths and One Extraordinary Life , by Rachel Hartigan. A former editor of The Washington Post's Book World, Hartigan worked for National Geographic magazine for 12 years, covering such diverse topics as the genetics of persimmon trees and the history of women's suffrage. So why a book about Amelia Earhart? Hartigan acknowledged that she asked that question herself "in the darkest moments of writing." After all, there are countless biographies for readers of all ages, as well as books touting various theories about Earhart's disappearance, not to mention occasional news coverage about the latest attempts to locate Earhart's plane or her remains. (Just last fall, we reported on Laurie Gwen Shapiro's The Aviator and the Showman , a biography exploring Earhart's unconventional marriage to George Putnam, a flamboyant publisher with a flair for marketing.) "I just didn't feel there was a book that tied everything together," Hartigan told Ars. "You get these news stories of people saying they know where Amelia Earhart is, but you don't have any context beyond the immediate story, all the things that make it a full picture." Getty Images Building an income stream from durable assets matter now more than ever. This comes as uncertainty grips the market, with AI disruption being one of the driving forces in pressuring the market. That's why I much rather own growth and value stocks that pay you for the journey of ownership. This brings me to National Health Investors ( NHI ), which I last covered in the following piece in August 2025: National Health Investors: 5% Yield And Robust Growth In Plain Sight . That article appears to have been aptly framed, as NHI delivered a 12% total return since my last piece, far outperforming the flat performance of the S&P 500 ( SPY ) over the same timeframe, as shown below. Seeking Alpha In this article, I revisit NHI including recent business results , and discuss why it's currently a 'Buy' after a pullback from its recent highs, as shown below, so let's get started! NHI Stock 1-Yr Trend (Seeking Alpha) Why NHI? National Health Investors is a healthcare REIT focused on senior housing and skilled nursing facilities across the U.S. NHI invests through triple-net leases, where operators bear property-level expenses, and its growing SHOP (Senior Housing Operating Portfolio) segment, where it participates directly in operational upside. In recent years, NHI has been repositioning its portfolio toward private-pay senior housing, where it sees stronger risk-adjusted returns. This strategic shift reflects an inflection point for the broader industry. New supply remains historically constrained while demand accelerates with the aging baby boomer population. NHI is demonstrating strong performance, with FFO per share rising by 8.9% YoY for Q4 2025 and by 10.6% for the full year 2025, exceeding initial guidance by a meaningful margin. Growth was driven in large part by NHI's rapid expansion of the SHOP platform, where NOI rose by 125% and 57% for Q4 and the full year, respectively. On an apples-to-apples basis, NHI has made significant progress on its SHOP NOI mar...
