Usually, the playbook for when an asset drops 46% from its peak is to stop buying it. Strategy (NASDAQ: MSTR) -- formerly known as MicroStrategy -- missed that memo, and the company now holds 766,970 Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) after purchasing another 4,871 BTC in the first week of April alone, despite the cryptocurrency's price of $68,536 being far below the $126,000 all-time high it reached last Octo...

Strategy (NASDAQ: MSTR) -- formerly known as MicroStrategy -- missed that memo, and the company now holds 766,970 Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) after purchasing another 4,871 BTC in the first week of April alone, despite the cryptocurrency's price of $68,536 being far below the $126,000 all-time high it reached last October. What makes this behavior especially notable is that practically every other company that tried to copy Strategy's approach with buying Bitcoin has either slowed to a crawl or started selling. So is Strategy's stubbornness a result of its visionary understanding of the asset, or is it just making a reckless miscalculation with how it expects Bitcoin to perform? Image source: Getty Images. metamorworks Buyout firm Leonard Green & Partners is reportedly close to acquiring Cumming Group from New Mountain Capital , in a transaction that could value the business at around $3 billion including debt. The deal, which could be announced within weeks, would transfer ownership of a consultancy known for advising on major infrastructure developments worldwide, including the multibillion-dollar overhaul of Terminal One at John F. Kennedy International Airport . The potential acquisition comes against a challenging backdrop for private equity firms, as higher borrowing costs, rapid advances in artificial intelligence and geopolitical instability weigh on dealmaking activity. Industry data indicates that exits backed by private equity have dropped significantly this year, reflecting a more difficult environment for sellers. For New Mountain, the transaction would mark one of its largest divestments in recent years, following a decision to shelve plans to sell a group of healthcare technology assets. Leonard Green has remained active despite the slowdown, recently taking a majority position in the Topgolf and Toptracer business from Topgolf Callaway Brands Corp. in a deal that valued the unit at about $1.1 billion. The 31-year-old sustained a puncture as did Pogacar and their great rival Mathieu van der Poel, who had two mechanical problems and could not contest the final sprint, which went in Van Aert’s favour for his second title in one of the five Monument classics after his Milan-Sanremo victory in 2020.
