About 2/3 of production does today come from Chile and that percentage is expected to increase given that much of the near-term growth is also in Chile. Figure 1 - Source: Capstone Copper Presentation I have covered this company frequently over the last few years, and my prior articles can be found here . Capstone was first added to my portfolio last year following the sell-off in conjunction with the Liberation Day tariff announcement. I have sold and repurchased those shares in 2026, as we have seen large swings in the Capstone Copper share price. Today's article will primarily focus on the Q1 result and the current valuation. The copper price has, in 2026, increased by 12%, where higher prices for sulfuric acid following the closure of the Strait of Hormuz have no doubt played a part. Copper mining companies have experienced quite a bit of volatility this year, and Capstone is a relatively volatile copper mining stock, but the stock price has also underperformed both peers and the copper price. The underperformance is likely due to slightly softer production guidance in 2026, even if we can expect material production growth next year again. Capstone has, in my view been punished excessively this year. The company continues to report record earnings, has a solid liquidity position, and has an attractive valuation. Figure 2 - Source: Koyfin Q1 2026 Result Capstone Copper reported a record adjusted EBITDA of $329M during Q1 2026, up 7% compared to the prior quarter. Adjusted free cash flow was also a very healthy $56M, the fifth quarter in a row of positive adjusted free cash flow, even though the company is investing in growth. Figure 3 - Source: Capstone Copper Quarterly Reports The realized copper price of $5.92/lb was the primary reason for the record financials in Q1. Production declined 18...

The new accessory is specifically targeted at working professionals and Gen Z users. The new Mobi Fold travel mouse is priced at $80, according to Bloomberg. cemagraphics/E+ via Getty Images Artificial intelligence-related stocks have been the primary driver of U.S. equity market gains, while non-AI shares have significantly lagged, according to a chart shared by Fidelity Global Macro Director Jurrien Timmer. The chart compared the performance of the S&P 500 ( SP500 ), an AI basket, and an ex-AI basket since late 2024, showing AI stocks substantially outperforming both the broader market and non-AI shares. "We can see that the narrowing or broadening is really just an AI vs. ex-AI dynamic," Timmer said. He added that, excluding AI stocks, the market had not yet surpassed its pre-Iran highs, although it had come close in recent sessions. Timmer also noted that on Friday, when the S&P 500 fell 2.6%, Goldman Sachs' ex-AI basket was flat, suggesting weakness was concentrated in AI-related names rather than the broader market. The chart highlighted the widening performance gap between AI-linked companies and the rest of the market, underscoring the outsized contribution of AI stocks to the S&P 500's advance over the past year. Get up to speed with key market intelligence, news and insight before trading starts each day in this fast-growing economy with the Markets Daily India newsletter. Sign up here . A tweak to a single sentence within an arcane central bank circular has opened the door for billions of additional dollars to flow into India under a new incentive plan. The Reserve Bank of India on Monday did away with a curb on lenders’ ability to leverage funds while providing details of an overseas deposit plan. As a result of that relaxation, the program could attract around $45-50 billion, according to Yes Bank economists led by Indranil Pan . State Bank of India sees inflows of a similar quantum, while Emkay Global Financial Services expects the plan to unlock at least $50-55 billion. This is nearly double the amount analysts had projected on Friday, when the RBI initially announced the so-called foreign-currency non-resident (bank) deposits plan. The estimates have been bumped up after the fine print of Monday’s RBI circular showed the central bank had scrapped a restriction that barred lenders from issuing certain kinds of letters of credit or guarantees. “This was a key feature that the markets wanted clarification on given that it has the potential to amplify the size of inflows,” Citigroup Inc. economist Samiran Chakraborty said. Interest rates being offered by Indian banks under the plan are lucratively high as the RBI is subsidizing it Non-resident Indians would like to maximize their exposure to the plan by borrowing funds cheaply abroad and parking them in Indian banks. This happens through leverage Say, a non-resident uses $100 of their own money and borrows $900 from a foreign bank and deposits the full sum in an Indian bank under the new plan This is where the letter of credit comes in as the foreign bank needs an assurance from the Indian bank to minimize risks of default At the end of the plan, the Indian bank repays the money to the non-resident, who in turn pays back ...

Wolterk/iStock Editorial via Getty Images SK Hynix ( HXSCL ) is reportedly targeting a U.S. listing as early as August, as the South Korean memory chipmaker looks to capitalize on strong investor demand for AI-related stocks and expand its shareholder base. Reuters , citing sources familiar with the matter, reported that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission is expected to approve the company's American depositary receipt (ADR) listing application during the week of June 22. SK Hynix ( HXSCL ) didn’t immediately respond to Seeking Alpha’s request for comment. "SK Hynix plans to issue ADRs within 2026, but the details, including the size and timing, have not yet been decided," SK Hynix said in a statement to the Reuters . In March, the memory chipmaker said it filed a confidential application with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to list its shares in the U.S. later this year, and it was reported that it could raise up to $14B. The company reportedly told some investors earlier that it had “tremendously positive” feedback from stockholders for its U.S. listing plan given AI demand and its competitive position in the memory-chip market. SK Hynix and compatriot Samsung Electronics ( SSNLF ) are among the world's largest memory chipmakers. SK hynix is a major supplier of high-bandwidth memory, or HBM chips to Nvidia ( NVDA ). Samsung and American company Micron Technology ( MU ) also compete with SK hynix in this space. A U.S. listing by SK Hynix would further bolster a growing pipeline of marquee IPOs, joining anticipated offerings from OpenAI, Anthropic, and SpaceX as investors continue to flock to AI-linked companies. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJINDICES: ^DJI) , S&P 500 (SNPINDEX: ^GSPC) , and Nasdaq Composite (NASDAQINDEX: ^IXIC) all hit fresh record closing highs last week. Meanwhile, America witnessed a rare changing of the guard at the Federal Reserve's lead position a few weeks ago. Jerome Powell's second term as Fed chair ended on May 15 , while President Donald Trump's handpicked successor, Kevin Warsh, officially took the reins on May 22. Warsh's ascent to Fed chair comes at a precarious time for the U.S. economy and a historically expensive stock market. In just a few hours, at 08:30 a.m. ET, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) will release the highly anticipated May inflation report. Estimates suggest it'll be the scariest inflation data we've seen this year, and it has the ability to turn the stock market on its head. Continue reading

Ant Group Co. ’s international business is considering raising about $1 billion to accelerate growth, according to people familiar with the situation. The global unit of the Jack Ma -backed fintech company has been sounding out interest from prospective investors including existing shareholders General Atlantic and Silver Lake , the people said, asking not to be identified discussing a private matter. A funding round might value Ant International at $10 billion or more, the people said. A fundraising could help pave the way for Ant to start preparing for a potential listing of the business in Hong Kong as soon as this year, the people said. That would revive a process that stems back to the start of this decade, when the main Ant Group was preparing for what would have been the world’s biggest IPO ever. However, Chinese regulators put the brakes on that plan, prompting a restructuring that created an independent board for Ant International in 2024. Deliberations about the funding round are ongoing and no final decision has been made, the people said. Representatives for Ant, General Atlantic and Silver Lake declined to comment. Ant International’s revenue totaled $3 billion in 2024, and then grew about 25% in 2025, people familiar with the matter have said. The company supports more than 300 payment methods in over 220 markets, it said in April. Initially catering to Chinese tourists traveling abroad, the payments service was later expanded into a cross-border network known as Alipay+ that can be used by different wallets.
