The American electric car manufacturing giant Tesla Inc., headed by billionaire Elon Musk, entered India with the launch of the Model Y EV SUV last year. However, the sales of this SUV have been very slow, and in order to increase them, the company is offering exciting deals. These offers include a Rs 3 lakh exchange bonus, a complimentary home charger, and an affordable EMI of Rs 49,000. Tesla Model Y getting Rs 3 lakh discount Tesla India has rolled out a new scheme called the Tesla EV Switch and Save Program. With this scheme, it is targeting existing petrol and diesel car owners and is offering a flat exchange incentive of Rs 3,00,000. The company has highlighted that this amount will be offered on top of the existing car’s valuation. It has to be noted that this offer is only available on selected models and selected specifications. As per Tesla, this offer is only valid for deliveries before 31st March 2026. With this scheme, Tesla aims to aggressively reduce the acquisition cost of its vehicle and use the exchange bonus to offset high import duty-driven pricing. Apart from the exchange bonus, Tesla India is also offering a very affordable EMI of Rs 49,000 with the Model Y SUV. For this EMI, the buyer will have to pay a down payment of Rs 6 lakh. Tesla also claims that with its vehicle, the owner will be able to save Rs 20,000 per month on fuel and maintenance compared to petrol and diesel cars. According to Tesla, this brings an effective monthly cost to Rs 29,000. The company has highlighted that this particular EMI is indicative and subject to approval from the financier. Also, the saving of Rs 20,000 per month has been calculated on the basis of an average usage of 1,500 km per month. Actual savings may vary significantly depending on electricity tariffs, driving habits, and maintenance costs. Lastly, Tesla India is also offering a complimentary home charger with the Model Y electric SUV. This home charger, as per the company, reduces the running cost of i...

hapabapa/iStock Editorial via Getty Images The iShares S&P Small-Cap 600 Value ETF ( IJS ), launched on 07/24/2000 by BlackRock, Inc., and managed by BlackRock Fund Advisors, provides exposure to undervalued stocks within the small-cap segment of the U.S. equity market. It manages ~$7 billion and charges an expense ratio of 0.18%. Though I initiated coverage with a hold rating in 2024, I discussed the potential of small-cap value stocks in an environment where high interest rates should start falling in the near term. The environment, however, has changed as interest rates are closer to the "floor" the Fed targets, and economic growth might be slower for some time, favoring large-cap stocks. Nonetheless, I maintain my hold . Methodology IJS tracks the S&P SmallCap 600 Value Index, which starts with an available universe offered by the S&P SmallCap 600 Index. It selects stocks based on the following metrics: book value to price ratio, earnings to price ratio, and sales to price ratio. This is a classic approach and absolutely defensible; value can be sufficiently established using just revenue, EPS, and book value, as these values cover various aspects of the business's size and profitability relative to price. In fact, there are some funds that solely rely on book value to identify value stocks. Here, the index also screens for profitability and financial viability (positive earnings in the most recent quarter and over the trailing four quarters are required). The expense ratio may be considered high by those who are used to sub-0.1%, but considering what's offered here, it isn't unreasonable. The constituents are market-cap-weighted, but names in the parent index that are considered "blend" are also included in the index; how much of their market cap is considered for inclusion depends on their value scores. Rebalancing is done on an annual basis. Portfolio An advantage the ETF has is that concentration risk is much lower than that implied by broad-market funds her...

US manufacturing activity unexpectedly expanded in January at the fastest clip since 2022, energized by solid growth in new orders and production. The “medley of upside” from strong US tech shares on Monday is also a tailwind for their Japanese peers Tuesday, Jackson added. The drop in Japanese equities on Monday afternoon has also likely led to some dip-buying, said Hideyuki Ishiguro , chief strategist at Nomura Asset Management. “The major indexes had reached attractive valuations by the previous day, making them ripe for a technical rebound,” he said Growing expectations of a landslide victory for Japan’s ruling party in the lower house election to be held on Feb. 8 are also likely supporting the market, Ishiguro added.
