Alexander Sikov/iStock via Getty Images Introduction CoreWeave ( CRWV ) has seen its stock price decline by more than 4.6% since my sell thesis back in early December, and I want to revisit my core analysis to go into more depth about what I believe are the deep flaws of the company. Current Dynamics I’ll first go into why I believe the debt raise of $2B started to change the perception of investors about the current trajectory of the firm. Prior to this, the market largely rewarded CRWV for its aggressive expansions and its advantageous position with NVIDIA. But the move to secure additional debt at a time when the firm is already leveraged to a staggering level. More so, this comes relatively close to the firm’s IPO, meaning that this is potentially the case if there is a higher-than-expected cash burn rate. I believe that this highlights how the underlying operations are not yet generating the stream of high-margin revenue akin to other tech firms. Thus, CoreWeave is caught in a perpetual capital infusion cycle just to maintain its competitive position. Now I’ll go through why CoreWeave’s business has a fatal flaw, in my opinion, unlike regular hyperscalers like AWS, which have developed proprietary software ecosystems and custom silicon. CRWV essentially acts as a middleman for third-party hardware. CoreWeave borrows cash to purchase GPUs and then leases them to AI developers, meaning that it should be valued as an infrastructure lender and not a high-tech software vendor. More so, this essentially creates a commodity trap where the company’s main edge is its access to supply, which is a moat that evaporates once hardware availability normalizes across the industry. The rapid obsolescence of hardware means that the financial health hinges on an economic life of about 6 years, but there is a case that the actual economic life of those GPUs is way shorter due to the relentless release of new and more efficient architectures. ( UMAC ) is an early-stage but very well-capitalized supplier to a pretty rapidly emerging, policy-driven U.S. drone supply chain. We’re seeing a lot of regulatory barriers, like NDAA and FCC bans, make way for a meaningful domestic components market. As you know, drone warfare and counter-drone systems are shifting toward high-volume, attritable models. So the demand for a lot of core components like motors, cameras, and FPV systems is likely to scale exponentially over the next 10 years. The way I see it, Unusual is trying to position itself to supply that demand across the different drone platforms rather than betting on a single winner. The good news is that they hold a pretty strong balance sheet and are now starting to accelerate their enterprise revenue mix, with about 81% in 4Q25. Production capacity is also growing rapidly, with the company having a credible path to scaling revenue toward $100 million if execution holds, as I’ll explain. So, at current valuations, the buy case here is that Unusual becomes a critical infrastructure layer in the U.S. drone ecosystem. Upside should be driven by successful capacity ramp and sustained demand, while downside is mainly around execution risk during scaling. FY25 Review Unusual’s FY25 is showing us a company in the early but very aggressive phase of scaling. Growth and capacity-building are clearly taking priority over near-term profitability. Revenue more than doubled year-over-year to $11.2 million, up above 101%, with a particularly sharp inflection coming in Q4, which added $4.9 million alone. That quarter is up 144% year over year and 133% sequentially. We can put that surge down to a classic hardware ramp pattern, with the company doubling its headcount in 3Q25 and expanding facilities significantly, and revenue followed with a bit of a lag in 4Q25. Citrini Research, which issued a market-shaking bearish call on artificial intelligence earlier this year, said it dispatched an analyst to Oman's Musandam Peninsula, where the person traveled by boat to observe shipping activity firsthand amid escalating tensions between Iran and the U.S. What the analyst claims to have found challenges the dominant narrative gripping global markets that the critical oil artery is effectively shut. Instead, the analyst, who remains anonymous due to the sensitivity of the activity, found that vessels are still moving through the strait, with traffic picking up in recent days to roughly 15 ships per day, according to the firm's report posted on Substack . While far below normal levels, the flow suggests the disruption is partial and evolving rather than absolute. "Tankers passing through four or five a day, completely dark on AIS. The volume, they said, is higher than what the data suggests, and it's been accelerating in the past couple days through the Qeshm channel," Citrini's post said. AIS is a ship-tracking system that broadcasts a vessel's location, speed, identity and route. Citrini asserts that the actual shipping volume is higher than reported data as many ships turn off their transponders and are not visible on official tracking systems.
