Reddit is deprecating r/all, one of its feeds that shows popular posts on the platform, as part of "ongoing efforts to simplify Reddit and improve Home feed personalization." Reddit has offered both r/popular and r/all as ways to see trending posts, with r/all being a "less filtered feed" where "sexually explicit posts are filtered out but other popular Not Safe for Work (NSFW) posts are included." But in January, Reddit said it had removed r/all from its apps as part of an "experiment" and that, as part of a separate experiment, some desktop users wouldn't see r/all in their sidebar. (The company earlier announced r/all's removal from its … Read the full story at The Verge.

In this article UAL AMZN Follow your favorite stocks CREATE FREE ACCOUNT United Airlines Bloomberg | Bloomberg | Getty Images United Airlines hiked its checked bag fee by $10 on Thursday, becoming the second U.S. carrier in less than a week to raise the fee as the industry grapples with this year's surge in fuel costs, airlines' biggest expense after labor. United's new fee will be $45 to check a first bag on most domestic itineraries if the traveler pays ahead of time and $50 if they pay within 24 hours of their flight. "United is raising first and second checked bag fees by $10 for customers traveling in the U.S., Mexico and Canada and Latin America beginning with tickets purchased Friday, April 3," the carrier said. United last raised checked bag fees in 2024 and, like other carriers, is trying to cover the recent surge in jet fuel costs. Fuel prices for Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles and New York averaged $4.56 a gallon on Wednesday, up more than 82% since the U.S. and Israel attacked Iran on Feb.28, according to data from Argus published by industry group Airlines for America. JetBlue Airways on Monday hiked its checked bag fees at least $4 per bag — and up to $9 per bag, depending on when a customer's travel is booked — CNBC first reported . Competitors often follow suit with such fee increases. There are loopholes, however. Airline credit cards often give customers a free checked bag when they're on domestic itineraries in coach and it usually comes as a perk with elite frequent flyer status. Also, first-class seats generally include a free checked bag. "United Chase credit card holders, MileagePlus Premier members, active military members and customers traveling in premium cabins can still check a bag for free, and customers in most markets will still enjoy a $5 discount if they prepay for their bags online 24 hours before their flight," United said. Alina Buzunova/iStock via Getty Images In May last year, I had issued a Hold rating for the REX AI Equity Premium Income ETF ( AIPI ). At that time, and for a few months following that rating, everything tagged AI was being lapped up by the market. That environment has changed. The AI trade has cooled, macro pressures and stagflation risks aside. Importantly, the core objective for income seekers is to be able to generate optimal income, whether through an option writing route or through capital appreciation of the underlying. Last year AIPI was not posing much upside from the AI rally because of the capped nature of the covered call writing. Income was still supportive because some upside capture was still at play, although despite the option income, the aggressive yields meant NAV erosion possibilities, which is bad news for future payout size. You can see the effect of smaller payouts over time in the dividend payout chart below. This is despite any meaningful change in yield levels. That effect only amplifies if the underlying portfolio stagnates. Dividend PAyouts - AIPI (Seeking Alpha) Data by YCharts Theoretically, the strategy does not need a sharp rally in the underlying. What is actually and optimally needed is a supportive portfolio as a minimum, which then opens up option income in rangebound markets. The total returns can, in such a regime, even outperform the underlying portfolio itself. That regime is here today — after a reset in the AI trade, we could see exactly the perfect markets for AIPI. One where the risks of a further downside is more limited than it was in May last year, and the odds of a sharp rally also doesn't look imminent. A rangebound market is where option income works best. In short, compared to my old thesis, where the upside opportunity loss was far higher than the drawdown mitigation, we have now moved into a more symmetric market for option writing. That moves AIPI to Buy territory. Performance Since May The below chart shows the ...
