Key Points DraftKings’ bulls were thrown an unexpected curveball, but this new competition doesn’t carry the same brand-name cache. After years of development, Recursion Pharmaceuticals’ AI-powered drug discovery technology should finally, firmly start proving its true value. Just be prepared for the risk and volatility that each stock still brings to the table. 10 stocks we like better than DraftKings › For several high-profile growth stocks, share price performance in 2025 ended up being forgettable. These stocks didn't just underperform. They lost ground. However, if you can take a step back and look at the bigger picture, there are at least a couple of these cases where this weakness is likely only a temporary setback. Indeed, these pullbacks offer an opportunity for investors to get in front of a recovery in 2026. Where to invest $1,000 right now? Our analyst team just revealed what they believe are the 10 best stocks to buy right now. Continue » Here's a closer look at two of these best bets. DraftKings It's pretty clear why shares of sports-betting name DraftKings (NASDAQ: DKNG) lost 8% of their value last year (and closed 35% below their 2025 peak). Not only is the company's growth slowing down now that most of the industry's low-hanging fruit has been picked, but prediction-market platforms like Kalshi and Polymarket are now making inroads on DraftKings' sports-waging turf. It's not an issue for investors to simply dismiss. Worries that an alternative like Polymarket or Kalshi could significantly disrupt DraftKings' growth plans, however, are overblown. The key here is the power of the brand name itself. DraftKings was a well-known fantasy sports platform well before sports-betting's federal ban was lifted back in 2018, and, even now, the name is as much of a marketing tool as it is a means of betting on sporting events. It's now partnering with NBCUniversal's sports broadcasting arm, for instance, integrating its wagering tech with the media giant's sports...

Disabled residents and a former lawmaker have slammed Hong Kong’s town planning authorities for failing to consider accessibility needs and overlooking potential fire safety risks in an approved development plan in Wan Chai, calling for a review to make the area more barrier-free. Former social welfare sector lawmaker Tik Chi-yuen said on Thursday that the Town Planning Board-approved, high-density development plan covering Sau Wa Fong and Nam Koo Terrace failed to take into account its impact on those in need. St Francis Street is a major thoroughfare in the neighbourhood connecting Queen’s Road East to the Starstreet Precinct, but its steep and narrow one-way path with a gradient of about 1:6 already poses barriers to residents with disabilities, including those using wheelchairs. Advertisement Tik noted the development under the Wan Chai Outline Zoning Plan would have more than 500 flats, and warned that the influx of residents could worsen traffic congestion on the street and heighten safety risks in the event of a fire. He added that a planned barrier-free lift connecting Sau Wa Fong and St Francis Street would only take residents to the sloping street, meaning that the area would remain inaccessible to those with disabilities. Advertisement He said the designs violated the Disability Discrimination Ordinance and the principles of universal design intended to create a barrier-free environment. “This project has created an undesirable precedent. The government only looked at one aspect of the development,” said Tik, who is also chairman of the Third Side party.

Our regular look at the FTSE 350 and other companies reporting from 02 – 06 February. AMD expected to challenge the top end of guidance Hopes high for improved trading at Novo Nordisk Cloud growth in focus for Amazon Advanced Micro Devices, Q4 Results, Tuesday 3 February Matt Britzman, senior equity analyst, Hargreaves Lansdown: AMD NASDAQ:AMD heads into its fourth-quarter results with plenty of momentum, outperforming the broader tech sector so far this year. That’s been supported by expectations of sustained demand for its AI chips and production-planning missteps at CPU rival, Intel NASDAQ:INTC, which could open the door for AMD to gain market share in 2026. Guidance points to $9.6 billion in revenue at the midpoint, though analysts expect to see a number toward the top end, at around $9.9 billion, for the quarter. While the longer-term outlook remains encouraging, there’s reason forwe’d urge a little caution in the near term. The valuation already reflects a healthy dose of optimism, and 2026 looks set to be a year of moderating growth (still an impressive roughly 25%) until major AI projects begin to scale in 2027 and beyond. When revenue inflection points get pushed out, it pays to apply a mental discount. Particularly given AMD has yet to deliver large deployments of rack-scale AI products, and as even the best in the business, Nvidia NASDAQ:NVDA, has shown, there are always hiccups early on. Novo Nordisk, Q4 Results, Wednesday 4 February Derren Nathan, head of equity analysis, Hargreaves Lansdown: Investor sentiment towards Novo Nordisk [CPH:NOVO] bottomed out following another downgrade to revenue and profit guidance at its third-quarter update in November. Ignoring exchange rate moves, 2025 full-year revenue is now expected to rise 8-11%, with operating profit growth faring worse at 4-7%. But it’s been a promising start to 2026, with take-up of the company’s recently launched Wegovy pill for weight management helping to claw back some US market share from ...

Indonesia is fighting to save its financial reputation after a disastrous two days saw stock prices plunge by 8 per cent. Authorities are racing to pass new rules to prevent a downgrade that has already scared investors into pulling billions of dollars out of the local market. The rout, which knocked off about US$80 billion in overall market value, came after index provider MSCI flagged concerns about ownership and trading transparency in Indonesian stocks, the latest setback for a market that is struggling to maintain investor confidence. Foreign capital has flowed out of Indonesia because of concerns about how President Prabowo Subianto is widening the fiscal deficit and ramping up the state’s involvement in financial markets. Advertisement The appointment of his nephew, Thomas Djiwandono, to the central bank this month, after last year’s abrupt sacking of respected Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati, has shaken confidence in his fiscal stewardship and pushed the rupiah to record lows. Ignoring interference concerns, Indonesia on Tuesday appointed Thomas Djiwandono, President Prabowo’s nephew, to the central bank board, sparking fears of a loss of independence. Photo: AFP Modest recovery after regulatory response Indonesian stocks staged a modest recovery late on Thursday after the country’s regulators unveiled several measures, including doubling the free-float requirement for listed firms to 15 per cent, as part of their response to MSCI.

NYSE:ORCL Earnings & Revenue Growth as at Jan 2026 How Oracle stacks up against its biggest competitors Oracle’s finalized role in the U.S.-based TikTok joint venture gives it a direct stake in a large consumer platform while keeping its core focus on cloud, data and security. For you as an investor, this ties Oracle’s U.S. cloud infrastructure to a high-traffic social app in a heavily regulated setting, which can highlight Oracle’s capabilities relative to other large cloud providers like Amazon and Microsoft in handling politically sensitive, high-volume workloads. How this fits the broader Oracle AI and cloud narrative The TikTok agreement lines...

After more than 30 years of melodious guitar pop, the Cardigans are returning to the stage – and their frontwoman Nina Persson will be joining us to answer your questions. The Swedish band instantly marked themselves out from the rest of both pop and alternative music when they broke through in 1995 with their album Life: sophisticated lounge-pop informed by bossa nova and disco (including sprightly Black Sabbath cover versions) was the very opposite of boorish Britpop or rave culture, and Persson’s vocals – girlish yet faintly careworn – carried so much drama within them. Third album First Band on the Moon contained their first true hit, Lovefool, which reached No 2 in the UK after framing Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes’ romance as Romeo and Juliet in Baz Luhrmann’s 1996 film adaptation – and has endured, now closing in on its billionth play on Spotify. Their next album, 1998’s Gran Turismo, was just as sophisticated but switched into a darker-hued digital palette, as on singles My Favourite Game and Erase/Rewind. Shortly after, Persson duetted with Tom Jones on a cover of Talking Heads’ Burning Down the House, which was included on his mega-selling Reload album. Then there was another tonal switch, to lamplit folk-rock and brawny Americana on 2003’s Long Gone Before Daylight; and another on 2005’s Super Extra Gravity, full of bright pop-rock. There hasn’t been another Cardigans album since, and Persson has ruled out the possibility after the departure of guitarist Peter Svensson, but the band reformed for live shows in 2012 and have sporadically toured since. Around the band, Persson has been an engaging vocal foil for Manic Street Preachers – their song Your Love Alone I s Not Enough reached No 2 in the UK singles chart – and Scottish folk singer James Yorkston, and as well as a 2014 solo album, she released two albums under the name A Camp, featuring various collaborators including her husband, film composer Nathan Larson. The Cardigans’ next UK gig is on 27...

These 3 cryptocurrencies should outperform the market in 2026. During the past 90 days, only a dozen of the top 100 cryptocurrencies (as ranked by market cap) are in positive territory. But that just makes it easier to find beaten-down cryptocurrencies trading at discount prices. The following three cryptocurrencies all have high upside potential, and provide some downside protection as well. If the market is headed higher this year, these cryptocurrencies will likely lead the way. Bitcoin First up is Bitcoin (BTC 1.74%), the market bellwether. The world's most popular cryptocurrency, currently valued at about $1.8 trillion, still accounts for a stunning 60% of the total market cap of the crypto market. It's hard to imagine any scenario where the broader crypto market rallies without the participation of Bitcoin. Expand CRYPTO : BTC Bitcoin Today's Change ( -1.74 %) $ -1555.32 Current Price $ 87686.00 Key Data Points Market Cap $1.8T Day's Range $ 87653.00 - $ 90316.00 52wk Range $ 74604.47 - $ 126079.89 Volume 50B Admittedly, though, things look a bit dicey for Bitcoin right now. It's down a stunning 30% from its all-time high of $126,000 in October. Moreover, if you buy into the idea of the four-year Bitcoin cycle, then 2026 is shaping up to be a disappointing year. Every four years, Bitcoin plunges in value, and we're now heading into year four of the current cycle. On the other hand, the industry outlook for Bitcoin is still bullish. According to a roundup of Bitcoin predictions from CNBC, some crypto industry insiders still think that Bitcoin can reach a price of $200,000 or higher this year. At a recent price of about $88,000, that implies a gain of 127%. That's in line with what Bitcoin delivered in both 2023 and 2024, so it's certainly within reach.
