CHA's Oct-Dec '25 earnings were 87% lower year-on-year at CNY0.49/share. According to S&P Capital IQ, that's also 68% short of the CNY1.54 consensus prediction. I mentioned the Chinese beverage sector's "fierce rivalry" in the late-2025 write-up. This unfavorable environment continues to be a drag on topline. The group's results disclosure highlighted a 26% drop in "Average monthly GMV per teahouse in Greater China" to CNY0.34 million for 4Q2025. It was explained at the analyst meeting that "we chose not to chase low-price traffic blindly." BofA ( BAC ) published a report (not publicly available) on April 2 titled "Guming: Share Gainer With Good Visibility." BAC's research indicated that the average "revenue growth for China's top 5 drinks players" including Chagee, was +27.7% last year. CHA has ceded ground to competitors because of its prestige pricing. That's evidenced by its modest 4% turnover increase during the same period. Separately, a shift in outlet ownership mix impacted profits. CHA's call commentary suggested that it "converted some of our franchisee tea houses into owned ones in China." I can understand why the company wants to have greater operational oversight in challenging times like these.
