KKR & Co. ’s non-traded business development company KKR FS Income Trust, a type of private credit fund for retail investors, curbed redemptions after receiving an increase in such requests, according to a shareholder letter. The fund, known as K-FIT, received tendered repurchase requests totaling 6.3% of the outstanding shares during the repurchase period that ended on March 30, the firm said in a shareholder letter dated March 31. KKR capped share repurchases at 5%, and the fund will satisfy all repurchase requests on a pro-rata basis of about 80%, the firm said in the letter. Alternative asset managers have been enforcing redemption limits on non-traded BDCs in recent weeks, as private credit pressures have spooked retail investors and stoked a surge of redemption requests. Investors’ concerns include underlying quality of private credit loans and potential exposure of borrowers to artificial intelligence disruption. Another pool, KKR FS Income Trust Select, also known as K-FITS, received repurchase requests totaling 3.7% of outstanding shares and will fulfill all requests, according to a separate letter, also dated March 31. Both funds, which pursue similar strategies but are managed and distributed separately, received gross inflows in excess of the total repurchase requests during the quarter, according to the letters. “Historically, moments of market volatility have created favorable lending conditions and attractive opportunities for long-term investors with capital to deploy,” KKR stated in both letters. “We view K-FIT’s structure, including established limits on quarterly liquidity, as a key feature that enables our disciplined long-term investment strategy and an important component of prudent fund management over time.” K-FIT, which launched in March 2023, and K-FITS, which launched in February 2024, each generated positive total returns every month since inception. As of Feb. 28, K-FIT has an annualized total return of about 13.9%, with K-FITS returning...

Getty Images Micron Technology, Inc.'s ( MU ) wild ride has continued the last few weeks. Shares spiked to all-time highs leading up to a highly anticipated earnings report , only to fall precipitously the last few days. There are a few headwinds coalescing simultaneously that are causing this downturn, but I think the market reaction is overblown and that the stock will get back to its march higher in short order. Data by YCharts In my last piece on MU back in late January, I discussed how the memory maker was grappling with massive demand, why this shortage has been particularly pronounced, and the outsized profits that were cresting the horizon. The stock rose 15% over the next two months before crashing back down, now 20%+ off highs. That article can be read here . This was just the most recent in a long series of articles that I've written on MU since initiating a Strong Buy in September 2024 (+286% since) and then downgrading to a Buy on November 2025 at around $200 per share, which I've maintained. Throughout this run, I have seen many folks claim that the cyclical era of memory is over, that structural demand from AI will buoy the industry, and that "this time is different." I have even seen more than a couple references to Micron being "the next Nvidia." However, I have been adamant in my opinion that, despite the explosion in revenue and profit for Micron, SK Hynix, and Samsung ( SSNLF ), memory remains as cyclical as ever. And my reasoning is simple: memory is cyclical because the markets it supplies are cyclical. Smartphones, PCs, and processors all fall into this category. And yet, these products weren't always cyclical -- when they first burst onto the scene, the demand ceiling seemed impossibly high. Then, of course, competitors entered, technology became commoditized, and before anyone saw it coming, the market became oversupplied and prices crashed. So, the claim that AI isn't cyclical is myopic -- AI isn't cyclical because it hasn't been around lon...
