hapabapa Loop Capital began coverage of Macom Technology Solutions ( MTSI ) with a Buy rating and a $300 price target. Shares of Macom rose about 2% on Friday. "We view MTSI as a key beneficiary of three end markets with structurally higher growth rates, when compared to historical growth patterns. We also see MTSI benefitting from cyclical tailwinds that are broadening across the semiconductor market," said analysts led by Gary Mobley. The analysts noted that about two-thirds of Macom's revenue is tied to markets that are now at structurally higher growth rates, from data center capital expenditure, or capex, poised to grow at 80% in 2026 to a satellite market that expects to see another record year of launches in 2026. Macom develops the key semiconductor-based radio frequency, or RF, millimeter, microwave, and lightwave components enabling civil, defense, data center, satellite, and telecom infrastructure buildouts, the analysts added. For me, it signals that Xeon CPUs are not likely to be displaced in the AI era, but rather they seem to be becoming more deeply embedded at the core of hyperscale infrastructure, as I’ll explain. It's a good trend for Intel, and the collaboration would imply that they’re evolving from a component supplier into a strategic systems partner. They’re set to co-design balanced architectures alongside custom IPUs, which should position them to benefit directly from scaling AI demand. Elsewhere, the valuation would reflect a turnaround already being priced in. So in that sense, this deal would then reinforce the durability of CPU demand and support the long-term earnings recovery story here. I last covered Intel towards the end of last year, in which I explained what the Apple ( AAPL ) collaboration over the 18A node meant for investors. I see this collaboration as another step in the right direction for Intel's recovery and would remain Buy-rated again. Intel and Google continue their collaboration As you know, Intel and Google have just recently expanded their partnership. I see it as a pretty subtle but important shift, specifically in how AI infrastructure is evolving for both parties. You see, much of the recent AI boom has been focused on GPUs and specialized accelerators. And it is true, many companies have seen huge share momentum from expanding their GPU portfolio. However, this collaboration reinforces that CPUs are still the backbone of large-scale systems here. Intel Corporation On Intel’s side, it comes down to their Xeon processors. These processors basically orchestrate AI workflows in that they combine a very strong general-purpose compute with system-level control capabilities. This is what accelerators lack. Architecturally speaking, the Xeon can offer us much higher core counts and large shared caches. They also have ...

matdesign24/iStock via Getty Images CPI inflation surged in March , rising 0.865%, matching estimates, as an oil-driven energy shock led the way. It was good enough for a top-10 biggest sequential CPI hike since 1970. While headline inflation jumped, core CPI increased a more modest 0.196%, a tick under economists’ projections, with food prices flat. Energy spiked 10.9% (the largest rise in 21 years), driven by a sharp 21% rise in gasoline (the biggest surge on record, back to 1967). Gasoline accounted for almost three-quarters of the inflation spike. On an annual basis, headline CPI is 3.3%, while the core rate is 2.6%. Digging into the report, core goods rose just 0.1%, with new vehicles flat, used cars down 0.4%, and apparel up 1%. Core services also increased 0.2%, led by shelter (+0.3%), including rent (+0.2%) and OER (+0.3%), while hotels rose 0.2%. Medical care and car insurance were flat, though airfares climbed 2.7%. Big picture, super core CPI rose 18 basis points last month, which was an improvement from +35 basis points in February. Also keep in mind that the partial government shutdown may have shaved some pricing pressure. For the consumer, real average hourly earnings are now a paltry +0.3% on a trailing 12-month basis, down sharply from 1.4% in February. Higher energy bills weigh on households, with electricity CPI up 4.6% over the past 12 months and gas utilities up 6.4% vs March 2025. Food-at-home CPI is +1.9%, but food away from home is hotter at +3.8%. The good news is that vehicle prices are up a weak 0.5% YoY, with used vehicle prices off 3.2%. Equity futures were little changed after the 8:30 a.m. ET data, while the bond market largely yawned at the March numbers. The bulls are fine with that, as the S&P 500 ( SP500 ) looks to put in a second consecutive large weekly climb. As for Fed Fund futures, there was a modest uptick in expectations for an eventual rate cut. Of course, the FOMC is likely to be in a holding pattern for quite some time. T...

Botswana is holding to its ambition of buying a controlling stake in De Beers from Anglo American Plc , potentially dampening interest from some private investors looking to acquire the diamond giant. Anglo has set an April 16 deadline for bids, as the London-listed miner pushes ahead with exiting the business despite the diamond market languishing in one of its worst ever crises, according to three people familiar with the matter. The government of Botswana – which owns 15% of the iconic diamond firm – still wants to boost that stake beyond 50%, according to people familiar who asked not to be identified discussing a confidential matter. President Duma Boko told Bloomberg TV the same thing during an interview in September. More than two-thirds of De Beers’s rough stones are mined in the southern African country. Discussions in recent weeks between Botswana and other African diamond producing nations, Angola and Namibia, as well as with potential private buyers, had led to growing expectations that the government would be willing to settle for a minority stake in De Beers. That would open the way for the one-time diamond monopoly to remain in private ownership. The continuing intention of Boko’s administration to pursue control is likely to hamper Anglo’s efforts to find private investors, some of the people said. The situation remains fluid and may change, they added. While Botswana has pre-emptive rights over Anglo’s entire De Beers stake, securing control of the business isn’t guaranteed, said one of the people familiar with the government’s position. Rather, the size of the country’s shareholding will depend on various antitrust and regulatory considerations, as well as talks with private bidders, they said. There are at least three private groups still interested in buying the business, led by former De Beers boss Gareth Penny , Australian mining veteran Michael O’Keeffe and diamond trader Nir Livnat . Those groups thought Botswana had tempered its aspirations ...

Grupi 2026. aasta I kvartali konsolideeritud auditeerimata müügitulu oli 228,4 miljonit eurot. Võrreldes 2025. aasta I kvartaliga kasvas müügitulu 6,3%. Aruandeperioodi puhaskahjumiks kujunes 4,7 miljonit eurot. Võrreldes aasta varasemaga oli kahjum 1,8 miljonit eurot väiksem sisaldades madalama tulumaksu kulu positiivset mõju 1,1 miljoni euro ulatuses. Maksueelne kasum oli 2,0 miljonit eurot ja see kasvas võrreldes aasta varasema tulemusega 0,7 miljonit eurot. 2026. aastasse ennustatud majanduskasv jäi esimeses kvartalis tarbimise kasvu osas siiski tagasihoidlikuks.

Artemis II Astronauts To Return Home Today: What To Know Authored by T.J.Muscaro via The Epoch Times, Humanity’s first mission around the Moon in more than 50 years is coming home the way of a meteor. NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, and Christina Koch—as well as Jeremy Hansen of the Canadian Space Agency—will reenter Earth’s atmosphere in their Orion spacecraft Integrity at approximately 7:53 p.m. on April 10. Artemis II’s 10-day journey beyond the moon to the farthest point away from Earth that humans have traveled will end with the astronauts’ ride in a fireball through the sky and splashdown in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of San Diego at approximately 8:07 p.m. This is the pinnacle of the adventure that Glover has been thinking about since he got assigned to the mission on April 3, 2023, and NASA officials have been thinking about it since even before that. After Artemis I, the Orion spacecraft’s heat shield and reentry trajectory went through a drastic redesign. NASA’s associate administrator, Amit Kshatriya, affirmed on April 9 that the crew and everyone involved were confident in Integrity’s systems. Reentry Timeline NASA’s Rick Henfling will be the flight director at mission control during reentry and splashdown, and he outlined the course of events ahead of the mission’s dramatic conclusion. 11:35 a.m. EDT— The crew will wake up and start their day. They will make final preparations and configure the cabin for reentry as Integrity gets closer to home and travels faster and faster. Those preparations include donning the orange-and-blue pressure suits they wore for launch and stowing all remaining loose equipment for reentry. One final course correction burn is also scheduled. 7:33 p.m.— Integrity’s Orion crew module will separate from its European Service module—the deep-space workhorse that kept Artemis II on course, provided power and life support, and offered exterior vantage points from which photographs were taken and shared with the wor...
