The development stage mining company provided updates in January that generated excitement among investors. Geopolitical events have had investors buzzing about critical metals and mining companies over the past year. Interest in one in particular soared at the start of 2026. Several events, including a business update, sent shares of Critical Metals Corp. (CRML +12.55%) soaring 89.8% in January, according to data provided by S&P Global Market Intelligence. That performance should garner investor attention and interest in the company. It should also give investors pause as to why the company is valued at over $1.5 billion with virtually no revenue yet. Critical minerals sweet spot Critical Metals could be well-positioned to support the growing global demand for rare-earth minerals used across a wide range of applications. Getty Images Investment overview I wrote about Nextpower Inc. ( NXT ) with a buy rating, as I saw upside to the stock given the solid execution across all key areas (capturing demand, innovating new products, etc.). I believe my thesis remains intact. Backlog remains strong, and NXT’s growth is effectively de-risked due to the new tracker architecture and IRA dynamics. 3Q26 earnings This was another quarter of solid execution. NXT delivered net sales of $909 million, up 34% y/y. The US business remains the main growth driver, up 63% y/y to $735 million and accounting for 81% of total revenue; meanwhile, Rest of World (ROW) revenue fell 24% y/y to $174.4 million. While ROW performance may look poor at face value, I’d say there is some volatility in between quarters, and NXT is still diversifying well away from just being reliant on the US, as in 9M26, international revenue still represents 25% of total sales. For profitability, NXT reported adj. EBITDA of $214 million, up ~14% y/y. While earnings grew slower than revenue, implying operating deleverage (as margins did compress to 23.5% from ~27% last year), this should not be seen in a vacuum. Remember that last year’s margins were elevated by one-off factors (freight/logistics benefits). What we are really seeing today is a more normalized gross margin profile. The good news here is that SG&A expenses grew only 17% y/y, roughly half the pace of revenue growth, and as a percentage of sales, SG&A fell to 9.1% from 10.4% last year. While this opex efficiency wasn't enough to offset the gross margin normalization this quarter, it sets up well for NXT to print expanding margins in the quarters ahead. Demand Outlook Remains Strong I remain confident that NXT’s demand momentum can continue at this solid pace, and this view is supported by the backlog and pipeline. It was a tale of two stocks as Meta Platforms ( META ) flew higher after delivering a solid beat and reversal in EPS from Q3, while Microsoft ( MSFT ) delivered on the business end but sold off due to concerns over OpenAI remaining performance obligations. Apple ( AAPL ) set the tone with the offense as they delivered their strongest Q1 earnings report in history, while Tesla ( TSLA ) beat on the top and bottom lines. This week we have Alphabet ( GOOGL ) and Amazon ( AMZN ) reporting, and President Trump has tapped Kevin Warsh to succeed Fed Chair Powell as the next Fed Chair. The S&P 500 is still hovering around all-time highs, and I am excited for the future. I have a feeling that earnings season is going to go very well for equities, and the decline that is starting to occur in metals is bullish considering that it impacts input costs. A lot of people are worried that Kevin Warsh is too hawkish, but I don’t think President Trump would be selecting him if the narrative about lower rates wasn’t already established. As I see earnings roll in, I am more convinced that 2026 will be another bullish year in the markets. I will continue allocating capital toward the equities within the Dividend Harvesting Portfolio as I feel there are still many opportunities within several sectors, including REITs and Energy.
