Centerbridge Partners -backed KIK Custom Products reported a 50% drop in fourth quarter earnings compared to a year earlier, in part as production facility inefficiencies resulted in lower volumes and higher costs for the maker of household cleaning products. KIK posted $15 million in adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization for the period, according to results reported privately to lenders and seen by Bloomberg. Weaker operating profits were also driven by warehousing and freight costs tied to its pool segment. In a statement provided to investors, management said it is evaluating options to bolster liquidity and address its capital structure amid ongoing challenges, according to people familiar with the matter, who asked not to be named discussing private information. Representatives for KIK didn’t respond to requests for comment. In December, KIK received a $150 million rescue loan from lenders including Oaktree Capital Management to help bridge a potential cash shortfall. As of Dec. 31, liquidity stood at about $199 million, the people familiar said. KIK’s $911 million term loan dropped nearly 6 cents on the dollar to 55.5 cents on Tuesday, according to Bloomberg pricing data. The Centerbridge-owned company has struggled to restore capacity for certain products ever since a chemical fire broke out at a Georgia production facility in 2024.

Futures tied to the Dow Jones average ( INDU ) rose more than 700 points, or 1.5%, while S&P 500 ( SPX ) ( SP500 ) futures and Nasdaq 100 futures ( US100:IND ) both gained ~ 1.7%. Front-month Nymex crude ( CL1:COM ) for May delivery currently down 9.6% to $102.05/bbl, and front-month Brent crude ( CO1:COM ) for June delivery currently down 5.8% to $103.42/bbl. In regular trading, front-month Nymex crude closed up 0.5% at $112.95/bbl, its highest settlement value since June 16, 2022, front-month Brent crude fell 0.4% to $109.27/bbl, and front-month Nymex natural gas ( NG1:COM ) for May delivery gained 2.1% to $2.87/MMBtu.
