Creating a definitive Top 10 list never fails to spark endless debate – but who doesn’t want to give it a shot? Don your capes and shields, and let the arguments begin … Putting together a Top 10 list of the best superhero movies of all time may just be the critical equivalent of trying to herd thunder through a spreadsheet . Are we rating the best-made movie, the most influential or the most emotionally ruinous? The genre has exploded over the past 20 years to the point where it long ago swallowed cinema whole: we have crime sagas (most Batman flicks), family comedies (The Incredibles, Guardians of the Galaxy), cultural and political allegories (Captain America: The Winter Soldier, X-Men, Black Panther), pop-art fever dreams (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse) and even tales of Wagnerian apocalypse (Watchmen, Avengers: Infinity War). The sense is that these movies are too varied, the emotional criteria too slippery, the personal attachments some of us have to them too embarrassingly primal, to be placed in a clear hierarchy. Is the No 1 comic book movie of all time the film that made fangirls and boys whimper into their crumpled copies of Amazing Fantasy #15? In which case we might be looking at Spider-Man: No Way Home. Or is it the picture that’s so good it appeals to filmgoers who don’t actually like superhero flicks? That would be The Dark Knight. Is Matt Reeves’ gloriously offbeat, Fincher-esque The Batman too weird and languid to make the list? And does Patty Jenkins’ breezily old-fashioned Wonder Woman get downgraded because it was part of a superhero universe that ultimately tanked? Continue reading...

stockcam Qualcomm ( QCOM ) and Snap's ( SNAP ) new augmented reality eyewear unit, Specs, entered a multi-year agreement to power future generations of Specs with Snapdragon system-on-chip, or SoC. The companies said this is the first flagship collaboration for Specs, which is launching Specs — an advanced eyewear that integrates digital experiences into the physical world — for consumers later this year. Specs are standalone, see-through glasses that enable users to see, hear, and interact with digital content just like it’s in the physical space, according to the companies. Specs also provides Lens Studio, a suite of advanced developer tools that powers augmented reality experiences across Specs, Snapchat, and other services. The companies noted that Specs are powered by Snapdragon XR platforms. By combining edge AI and high performance, low-power compute, Snapdragon platforms provide the foundation that enables intelligent, context‑aware experiences to run directly on device, for faster and more private interactions, the companies added. "Our work on future generations of Specs will enable power-efficient interactive AR devices that deliver agentic experiences that feel natural, intuitive and integrate seamlessly into daily life," said Qualcomm's President and CEO Cristiano Amon. The agreement builds on the companies' previous collaborations, as Snapdragon platforms have powered multiple previous generations of Snap’s Spectacles. Saudi Arabia’s oil exports via the Red Sea are holding steady for now, as the impact of a drone attack on its vital cross-country pipeline has yet to filter through. The strike on Wednesday — hours after a ceasefire was declared in the Iran war — damaged one of 11 pumping stations along the 746-mile (1,200-kilometer) conduit from oil fields in the east to the Red Sea coast in the west. That has reduced throughput by 700,000 barrels a day, the state-run Saudi Press Agency said Thursday, citing an energy ministry official. Still, it’s too soon for the attack on the pipeline to impact on exports from terminals at Yanbu. The speed at which oil passes through the link means that it will take several days for the lower flow rate to curb the amount of crude reaching the Red Sea port. Saudi Arabia has quadrupled crude shipments from its Red Sea terminals to about 4 million barrels a day since the end of February, easing the impact of the near shutdown of the Strait of Hormuz. Exports remain stable at that level, according to tanker tracking data compiled by Bloomberg. Even if the crude reaching the Red Sea port does begin to fall, the kingdom may decide to preserve export levels by trimming the amount sent to local refineries, power stations and water desalination plants, which are also supplied through the link. The pipeline has a nameplate capacity to move 7 million barrels a day and is the only major alternative to taking tankers through Hormuz, so its operation is vital to getting at least some Persian Gulf crude to thirsty oil markets. About 2 million barrels a day are used within the kingdom, leaving a possible 5 million for export.

Richard Drury/DigitalVision via Getty Images Thesis When investors think about money market funds, they usually picture names priced at $1 per share that stay at that level over time. It used to be that way, and any ' breaking of the buck ' would represent significant financial news. With the advent of retail-oriented trading platforms and exchange-traded funds, an entire suite of new products was derived that replaced traditional money market funds. And we are talking about T-Bill ETFs here, which came in full force. However, money market funds have evolved, and they have managed to insert themselves into the ETF wrapper. We have reviewed one in the past, namely the iShares Prime Money Market ETF ( PMMF ). Today we are going to review a new entrant in the space that has amassed an astounding AUM exceeding $20 billion, and one that many investors have never heard of. And we are talking about the ProShares GENIUS Money Market ETF ( IQMM ) here. What makes IQMM special? Unlike traditional money market funds, IQMM is structured as an ETF; thus, it can be bought and sold throughout the day. But that is not the main selling point, especially when considering that iShares already came out with a competing product last year. What makes IQMM special is its compliance with the GENIUS Act : The GENIUS Act (Guaranteeing Essential National Infrastructure in US Stablecoins) is the United States' first comprehensive legislation on stablecoins. This bill focuses on stablecoins, setting up regulatory guidelines for this form of digital currency across the United States. Stablecoin issuers must hold 1:1 reserves for any stablecoins issued. These reserves can be held in physical currency, US treasury bills, repurchase agreements and other low-risk assets approved by regulators. Issuers are required to report reserve composition and are subject to regular audits by registered public accounting firms. Without getting too much into the crypto world structure and nomenclature, an investo...

Sean Pavone/iStock via Getty Images Back in January, I called Phoenix Education Partners ( PXED ) dirt cheap post-IPO and said the market would re-rate it more like an asset-light for-profit ed name. But there was one thing in the way. Actually, two. One, the low float, just ~5 million shares post-IPO. Two, the Apollo ( APO ) and Vistria overhang. And that’s not exactly a ‘little’ overhang, but more like a big one. Despite selling part of their holding company in the IPO , they both hold almost 84% of all shares (~30 million shares together) and will continue selling them as part of their exit strategy. Nothing you can really do here. Seeking Alpha The overhang isn’t going anywhere. I said before, this ‘Buy’ is only for those who can stomach it and still see the value in this cash cow. My call here has returned just over -3% since my last article. It underperformed the S&P, and the stock even attempted a rally in yesterday's post-earnings session, but it didn't go very far. Well, but if results came in strong with a double-beat , why is the stock falling? A couple of guesses here, but the main one is Apollo and Vistria likely sold into the move near ~$32. Seeking Alpha That makes sense. If you assume Phoenix already reflects the post-turnaround dilution, you're looking at just over ~$30.50 per share (36 million shares on a $1.1 billion valuation). Of course, I imagine they would prefer to sell at a higher price later on. Perhaps after the re-rating. But I wouldn't rule out them selling closer to cost after collecting dividends for almost eight years. They certainly didn't end up in the red on this one. Another thing that came to my mind is whether Vistria has already exited its ~14% stake (almost 5 million shares), since it no longer appears as an institutional holder on Nasdaq . Note that Vistria is not listed among the Institutional Holders on Nasdaq for PXED (Nasdaq) On some sites, Vistria is still listed as the second-largest shareholder. Market Screener In any ...
