Getty Images Introduction To The abrdn Physical Gold Shares ETF The abrdn Physical Gold Shares ETF ( SGOL ), which is issued by abrdn ETFs Sponsor LLC (part of the UK-based investment company Aberdeen Group PLC), got listed in September 2009, after which it has managed to accumulate total assets under management of $8.57B. SGOL can be accessed at an expense ratio of 0.17%, and it is estimated to hold over $1.7m troy ounces of physical gold in its vaults, which are based in London. SGOL does not pay any dividends. What Does SGOL Do? The first thing to note is that SGOL is legally structured as a trust (or more specifically a grantor trust), and thus, when you buy shares of SGOL, you are essentially owning a fraction of that trust. The main difference between being structured as a trust, as opposed to being structured as an investment company, is that the former does not employ active management strategies to beat the market. In addition to that, being a grantor trust, this product is not subject to US federal income taxes, with income and expenses of the trust flowing through to shareholders. Secondly, note that SGOL is a physically backed ETF (an ETF that actually holds the underlying asset, which in this case is gold, rather than employing derivative contracts to capture the underlying asset’s price), and its goal is to enable investors to directly profit from the price movements of gold bullion, at a very reasonable expense rate, without having to deal with the hassles of owning and maintaining the metal. Who Are The Main Players Within SGOL’s Setup? To make this arrangement happen and work smoothly, there are four key parties involved- Sponsor - As noted earlier, abrdn ETFs Sponsor LLC serves as the sponsor for SGOL, and its primary role is to facilitate and register shares of this product on the NYSE Arca. Trustee- The responsibilities under this function are taken up by the Bank of New York Mellon ( BK ), who looks into the day-to-day activities of the trust an...

Will Bombshells Drop At Tuesday's DC Hearing On Foreign Influence In America's NGOs Asra Nomani at Fox News has reshaped how the corporate media outlet covers dark money-funded NGOs, the protest industrial complex, and the ongoing color revolution-style operation backed by left-wing billionaires and their Democratic allies against President Donald Trump and the "America First" agenda. Nomani was the first to report that the House Ways and Means Committee will hold a hearing on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. ET titled "Foreign Influence in American Non-profits: Unmasking Threats from Beijing and Beyond." The hearing, Nomani said, will focus on " examining a network of nonprofits ," ranging from groups tied to Neville Roy Singham to organizations she alleges are linked to his left-wing nonprofit network, including The People's Forum, CodePink, BreakThrough BT Media, ANSWER Coalition, and the Party for Socialism and Liberation. She added that these nonprofit groups work closely with the Democratic Socialists of America and other activist networks to stoke chaos. Adam Sohn, co-founder of the Network Contagion Research Institute, will be one of the five witnesses speaking with the committee on Tuesday morning. He published a new report finding that DSA's rhetoric aligns with the anti-U.S. propaganda of foreign adversaries. "The same rhetoric used to attack America abroad gets recycled at home to attack American law enforcement. Different stage, same script," Sohn said. 🧵🚨 MAJOR BREAKING 2: The 2025 May Day trip of SLC Armed Queers to Cuba: "Well, if we're terrorists, we're proud to be terrorists" I've obtained a now-deleted video. The intraday weakness, with DXY resuming its double-digit Y/Y retreat, comes after a report that Chinese regulators urged banks to curb U.S. Treasury exposure and as the yen strengthened after Japan's election, reversing a brief safe-haven rally that had lifted DXY into the end of last week.. New York, Feb 9, 2026, 16:35 EST — After-hours trading. Alphabet’s Class C stock edged 0.4% higher in late trading. Bloomberg says Google’s parent is eyeing a $15 billion investment-grade bond offering, with demand surging—orders have already cleared $100 billion. Investors are sizing up new borrowing as Alphabet lays out much bigger spending plans for 2026. Alphabet’s non-voting Class C shares (GOOG) edged up 0.4% to $324.40 in late trading Monday, following a Bloomberg News report that the Google parent is aiming to raise roughly $15 billion in a U.S. investment-grade bond offering. Capital expenditures for 2026 are now projected between $175 billion and $185 billion. Alphabet reported $113.8 billion in revenue for the quarter, and Google Cloud sales surged 48% to $17.7 billion.
