From the geopolitical conflict in the Middle East to ongoing concerns about inflation, the world is a very uncertain place right now. Leaning into reliable dividend growers could be a smart investment decision, perhaps even doubling up on some companies you may already own. If buying high-yield stocks sounds good to you, you should probably start your search with Enterprise Products Partners (NYSE: EPD) , Realty Income (NYSE: O) , and Medtronic (NYSE: MDT) . Here's a look at each one and their robust yields of up to 5.7%. Given the volatility in the energy sector right now, buying an energy stock like Enterprise might sound a bit risky. However, Enterprise operates a portfolio of fee-generating energy infrastructure assets. It gets paid based on the volume of energy it moves; the price of what is flowing through its systems isn't nearly as important. Given the importance of energy to the global economy, however, Enterprise's cash flow tends to remain robust throughout the energy cycle. Continue reading

Daniel Grizelj/DigitalVision via Getty Images A lot has changed since the first analysis on Hims & Hers Health ( HIMS ) (hereinafter referred to as Hims), but not everything unfolding around the company should be taken at face value. The first time I focused on the ability of the company to prove its durability outside the scope of the rapid development of certain verticals. Today, the situation has changed a bit: there is a focus on scalability and the field of healthcare. The announcement of the collaboration between Hims and Novo Nordisk ( NVO ) on the joint distribution of their obesity medications immediately boosted the stock. Nevertheless, the issue under discussion is the timing and the way of the announcement of such events. As we know, the release of information of this sort about a heavily shorted stock after the closing bell often leads to stock price manipulation. This distinction is important to mention as it allows us to differentiate between stock movement driven by momentum or caused by changes in the fundamentals. Novo Validates the Platform; Execution Will Define the Upside While the impact on the company of the announced collaboration with Novo cannot be underestimated, I still think that this news is currently irrelevant to the company. Being a rather fringe player in the industry because of sustainability and regulatory issues, Hims will become a legitimate distributor of pharmaceutical companies as long as it collaborates with Novo. Nevertheless, there is another issue associated with being engaged in the collaboration with pharmaceutics that needs to be mentioned. I believe that the company will have to deal with a few difficulties regarding maintaining good relations with their counterparts. Moreover, there might be financial barriers. However, from my point of view, the overall scenario appears to be very promising notwithstanding the stock movement. It is quite interesting to see how Hims plans to develop further. As of now, the company us...

sshepard The Department of Health and Human Services has published new rules to select members to the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices after a federal court last month struck down HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s moves to handpick members to the influential panel. The new rules came into effect after a Boston-based U.S. District Court stayed the appointments of 13 members to ACIP in March and paused alterations the CDC made to the U.S. childhood immunization schedule earlier this year. In his ruling, Judge Brian Murphy repeatedly pointed to the panel's charter, noting that RFK Jr., after removing all members of the panel last year, “replaced them without undertaking any of the rigorous screening that had been the hallmark of ACIP member selection for decades.” According to a renewed charter for ACIP published in the Federal Register on Monday, the HHS has broadened the expertise required from individuals who wish to serve on the panel. The ACIP issues recommendations on the type of vaccines and their doses that Americans should receive, making its decisions crucial for vaccine makers to receive coverage from health insurers. utah778/iStock via Getty Images Objective Use for Morningstar category Long-term total return Core alternative holding Tactical Allocation Click to enlarge Highlights Global stocks remained on an upward trajectory in the fourth quarter, benefiting from robust corporate earnings and favorable trade developments. Global fixed-income markets posted mixed results amid interest rate cuts by the Fed and an interest rate hike by the Bank of Japan. The fund ( JHAAX ) posted a slightly negative return for the quarter and underperformed its benchmark, the ICE BofA ML 0-3 Month U.S. Treasury Bill Index. Market review and outlook In the fourth quarter, global equity markets posted solid gains, but at a slower pace than earlier in the year. Healthy corporate earnings and positive news on trade negotiations provided support for a rally in October and November, but higher scrutiny around AI-related stocks in December triggered a rotation elsewhere, muting overall performance at the end of the quarter. Emerging markets led the advance, outpacing markets in developed countries. Among developed markets, Japan and European markets fared best, while U.S. stocks underperformed. In the fixed-income markets, the U.S. Federal Reserve (Fed) lowered short-term interest rates twice during the quarter, while the Bank of Japan raised short-term interest rates to their highest level in three decades. As a result, North American bond markets posted positive returns, while bond markets in the Asia-Pacific region declined. Corporate bonds outperformed sovereign government bonds across most regions of the globe. The global economy was characterized by a high degree of resilience in a tumultuous 2025. Although we could see renewed growth in 2026, there are significant risks associated with sovereign debt challenges and an unpredictable geopolitical environment. We expect a wait-and-see posture from the world's major central banks as global inflation has largely stabilized and the prospects for econom...

Vertigo3d/E+ via Getty Images Empery Digital ( EMPD ) is a bitcoin ( BTC-USD ) treasury company that used to be a power sports company called Volcon. Other than the fact that it's not a great thing when a company pivots to becoming a bitcoin treasury when their other ventures don't work out, the company had been buying back its own shares as prices declined enough to create some NAV discount now present, but also into a BTC sell-off, which started on account of the Iran war. We are looking to see some relief in Bitcoin markets as maybe the possibility of a ceasefire and easing Hormuz activity restore a risk-on environment. But otherwise, Bitcoin fundamentals such as blockchain activity don't look particularly good, as the yield curve still shows the USD and other fiat as an attractive alternative on reinflation considerations around the supply issues to oil as a consequence of the war. A 20% NAV discount makes Empery a little more attractive, but the buybacks were at prices on average above the current NAV post BTC declines. They were not carried out well, either with respect to the company's own NAV discount, as we discussed in previous coverage , or with respect to Bitcoin market dynamics. We don't much like Bitcoin, but we really don't see any reason to pay special attention to this company on a discount that matches a typical holding company discount. But with possible risk-on relief, we'll give it a hold for now. Latest Data Let's just run through the important data. The main thing might be the current NAV discount, which at current prices and given the cash balances on Bitcoin sold (capitulation at the bottom, by the way, so not very impressive at all) is around 20% . Right away, 20% is not an impressive value case, as holding company discounts in general tend to be that. More importantly, there are some aspects of the strategy that haven't impressed us. Capitulating BTC at $68k means they sold at the bottom $24 million. They did so again in the final stages o...
