The spread is the largest since before the expanded Trans Mountain pipeline to the Pacific Coast began operation, alleviating a persistent export bottleneck that caused large price discounts in Alberta. Refiners around the world, especially in Asia, are seeking alternative crude supplies after the war in Iran curtailed oil exports from the Middle East, increasing demand for heavy Canadian crude. The Strait of Hormuz remained mostly blocked on Wednesday following a fragile ceasefire between the US and Iran that was announced overnight.

Plank has been winding down his sprawling real estate portfolio, offloading everything from multiple residential properties to a luxury hotel in Baltimore City in recent years. Among his crown jewels - alongside the Baltimore Peninsula - is Sagamore Farm , a 404-acre thoroughbred racing operation he has been trying to sell for years. The latest data from multiple listing service provider MLS Bright shows that Plank likely instructed his listing agent, Christina Giffin of Monument Sotheby's International Realty, to pursue another price cut. MLS Bright data shows Sagamore's current listing price is around $16.5 million. That bumpy rollout of Llama 4 apparently spurred Meta founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg to totally overhaul Meta's AI operations in the summer of 2025 , forming a new internal division, Metal Superintelligence Labs (MSL) which he recruited 29-year-old former Scale AI co-founder and CEO Alexandr Wang to lead as Chief AI Officer.
